Story
Hi, I'm Gus! Thanks for checking me out! I know my cute face is hard to resist, but here's the scoop: I'll need a lot of your time and attention as I grow up into the amazing adult dog I'm destined to be! I'm looking for a forever family that will help me with socialization, training (yes, that includes house training!), and plenty of exercise. And let's not forget the chewing and teething-I'm still learning what's okay (and what's definitely not okay) to put in my mouth. So, be ready for some puppy-proofing! Don't forget those vet visits! I'll need to stay up to date on my boosters and vaccines, which means a few trips to see my favorite vet in the first few months. But trust me, all that effort will be worth it when you experience the endless love, puppy kisses, and pure joy I'll bring into your life. So, if you're up for the challenge and the fun, why not come meet me in person? Stop by during our adoption hours. For more details, email info@ahconnects.org or give us a call at 847-697-2880 x: 0. The friendly folks here will be happy to answer all your questions! Can't wait to meet you and start our adventure together! All of our dogs and puppies go home spayed or neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested (for dogs 7 months and older). They are also up to date on core vaccines, as well as heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Each adoption includes a 3.5-pound bag of dog or puppy food and a free vet exam at one of our participating veterinary partners.

Story
https://www.collierescue.org/dogs/8 NAPERVILLE, IL Kirby is a gentle, mahogany sable Rough Collie who brings a calm, comforting presence to any room. This mellow, house-trained senior girl loves staying close to her people and would thrive in a quiet home that can support her slower pace and mobility needs. Kirby is a 11-year-old Rough Collie whose sweetness and easygoing nature shine through in everything she does. She’s fully house trained, rarely vocal, and content with a simple routine that includes short, regular walks and plenty of couch time. Kirby prefers to stay near her adults, soaking up gentle affection and companionship rather than high-energy play. She’s learning to loosen up and play a bit from her foster siblings, but her favorite role is quiet, loyal shadow. Due to significant muscle loss in her rear legs, Kirby has difficulty with stairs and getting up, so she needs a home that can accommodate her mobility challenges. She’s doing better with supportive care and supplements, but still benefits from a safe, stable environment where she can move at her own pace. A fenced yard is always desirable but she doesn’t require it as long as she gets age-appropriate exercise. Kirby moves carefully around seniors and would be an ideal match for a calm, patient household ready to offer her comfort, consistency, and love in her golden years.

Story
Fostered near Plainfield, IL Fenced yard required https://www.collierescue.org/dogs/2051 Sylvia is NOT all collie. But she's a delightful cocktail of Collie, Border Collie, Australian Shepherd, and Cattle Dog. True, she doesn't look quite like what you pictured. BUT what if we told you Sylvia is more collie than she looks, cleverly disguised in a cuddly, 35-pound, perfectly portable, low-coat-maintenance package! With many of the classic Collie qualities that Smooth Collie lovers know to love and adore. Listen how her foster home describes her: people-oriented, thoughtful, exceptionally intelligent-just like both Smooth and Rough Collies - eager to please, sensitive, devoted… Sounds familiar, right? Stay with me. Sylvia has the soft, affectionate disposition that collie fans crave. She knows how to settle and chill, she chooses to rest on foster dad's foot instead of a doggie bed, whenever possible. She loves to cuddle but is always ready for fun, outdoor adventures, easy-peasy rides in the car. But most of all she enjoys simply being included in everyday life with her family. Now, she IS still a young dog - under a year old - with a playful curiosity and joyful energy of a puppy, balanced by an impressive ability to settle and connect with her people. She's curious, playful, and energetic. She is a little too much for some dogs, and she has been a little opinionated about doggie friends. Her foster home is working on this with her. So for now, she's considered best as an ONLY dog. She has not been tested with cats, and older kids would be best. A physical fence will be required because she will need to bond with her new family before she can ever be trusted off leash safely. She's even house-trained and widely trustworthy in the home. She rides great in the car, loves hiking adventures, but also plays nicely with toys all by herself. Sylvia captures so much of what makes Collies so beloved — especially the classic Collie devotion, gentleness, and companionship that make the breed such a wonderful family dog. With her strong devotion to her humans, Sylvia is soooo close to the perfect dog for many collie folks…look a little deeper and discover what might make her perfect for you. Who knew!

Story
I'm 44 lbs, and I am looking for my forever home. Hodie is a fun-loving boy with a soft side! He’s currently working on his “sit” and “down” commands and can nail them when things are calm—such a smart pup with lots of potential. This sweet guy lives for belly rubs and will happily roll over for some love any chance he gets. He also enjoys playing with toys and keeping himself entertained. Hodie likes other dogs and would benefit from continued socialization to help him build confidence. He’s a good boy who’s ready to keep learning and growing with his forever family. With a little guidance and a lot of love, he’s going to make a wonderful companion! Please contact Echo Dogs (adoptions@echodogs.org) for more information about this pet.Female - 6 months - 32 lbs - Microchipped - Spayed - ILBIO Hello! My name is Cindy. I am a 6-month-old female currently weighing 32 pounds. My mom, Katrina, had a DNA test done and it showed that she is mostly Cattle Dog, Great Pyrenees and Shepherd. So I guess that’s what I am mostly too. Do you like the spots on my ears? Most people tell me how cute they are. They also like that I have one ear up and one ear down.I enjoy when people pay attention to me when we go on walks. Did I mention that for a puppy I walk really good on a leash? Well, I do and my foster mom tells me how good of a walker I am. I am also learning a few words such as sit, off, leave it, inside, outside and easy. I think she calls them commands. My house breaking is coming right along. It was delayed because it was such a cold winter.Sometimes when people are walking past the house with their dog, they stop and I’m able to play with them in the backyard. Foster mom has been throwing a toy in the backyard, and I chase it then I bring it back to her. I really enjoy the time with my foster mom, but she keeps telling me that one day I will have a family of my own. I know I am not a White Shepherd but if you're looking for a great dog then look no further because you found one ME! I hope you will consider me if you have children or another canine that needs a friend. Story
Please contact Echo Dogs (adoptions@echodogs.org) for more information about this pet.Female • 6.5-Months • 43lbs • Microchipped • Spayed • OHHello! My name is Elena. I am a 6.5-month-old cuddle bug. I am house-trained and crate trained. Since I am young it is best to crate me when you cannot supervise me. When my Foster mom is home, she leaves the crate open and I go lay inside. I take a minute to warm up to new people. I might bark at first, but when I realize you are a friend, I want all the pets and attention you can give me.I currently live with two female dogs and get along very well with them. I have also met other dogs with no issues. I haven’t met any cats, so I don’t know how I feel about them. I like all toys, especially the ones that I can pull all the stuffing out of. I even know how to play fetch. I like going for rides in the car. I pull a little on the leash, but we can work on that. I know way too many commands to list. Foster mom says I am very smart and easy to train.I would like to find a home that already has a canine companion for me to play with. Although I don’t live with children in my foster home, I would be very good with them. We could play and they can teach me things. I could be an only dog as long as you are home with me more often than not. I am a very active girl and like lots of love and attention. I am a pretty well-rounded girl. What kind of home do you have? Do you think I could fit in with your family?   Follow me on Facebook:  #EchoDogElena For more information, please contact adoptions@echodogs.org.   Echo Dogs fosters dogs in many states. Story
Lincoln is a handsome young Border Collie Mix, with an estimated date of birth of December 23 2022. He weighs about 45 lbs. He absolutely loves people and is very affectionate. However he is not fond of other dogs. Lincoln enjoys spending time in his foster family’s yard and would love a forever home with a large, secure fenced (above ground) yard. He loves spending time with human friends and needs a family or, a single pet parent, who will spend plenty of time with him. Because he’s not good with other dogs, dog parks are not on his list of favorite places! However, he is an active boy and would love to go for hikes and runs with his people….when he’s not playing in his own yard! Border Collie experience is a big plus for this smart boy. Due to his energy/playfulness, he is not an apartment or condo dweller. Rather, he’d love his own spaces where he could run and play, and an active family, or pet parent!! Lincoln is up to date on all vaccinations, is heartworm negative and is on heartworm preventative. He is neutered and microchipped as well. For information about adding this adorable boy to your family please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895. BAARK is located in the far NW suburbs of Chicago and adopts local to this area.
