Story
https://www.collierescue.org/dogs/8 NAPERVILLE, IL Kirby is a gentle, mahogany sable Rough Collie who brings a calm, comforting presence to any room. This mellow, house-trained senior girl loves staying close to her people and would thrive in a quiet home that can support her slower pace and mobility needs. Kirby is a 11-year-old Rough Collie whose sweetness and easygoing nature shine through in everything she does. She’s fully house trained, rarely vocal, and content with a simple routine that includes short, regular walks and plenty of couch time. Kirby prefers to stay near her adults, soaking up gentle affection and companionship rather than high-energy play. She’s learning to loosen up and play a bit from her foster siblings, but her favorite role is quiet, loyal shadow. Due to significant muscle loss in her rear legs, Kirby has difficulty with stairs and getting up, so she needs a home that can accommodate her mobility challenges. She’s doing better with supportive care and supplements, but still benefits from a safe, stable environment where she can move at her own pace. A fenced yard is always desirable but she doesn’t require it as long as she gets age-appropriate exercise. Kirby moves carefully around seniors and would be an ideal match for a calm, patient household ready to offer her comfort, consistency, and love in her golden years.

Story
Fenced yard required Fostered near Britton, MI https://www.collierescue.org/dogs/2054 https://www.collierescue.org/adopt/apply Murray is a smart, energetic, and affectionate young Collie with a big personality and love for his people. He enjoys treats, toys, and a good game of fetch, and he’s always eager to learn, making him a rewarding match for an active home that can offer structure, playtime, and continued guidance as he grows into the wonderful companion he is meant to be. This handsome boy is fully housebroken, comfortable in a crate, and settles well when left alone. He has learned not to destroy his toys, is improving with waiting at doors, and comes when called. Murray is highly intelligent and loves to learn—he even figured out how to let himself back inside by using a lever-style doorknob! Murray thrives on attention and affection. He loves to be part of whatever his family is doing. One of his favorite things is greeting his foster mom with morning snuggles. He responds well to treats, chews, toys, and calm, consistent routines. He navigates stairs with ease and has done well with grooming after overcoming his initial fear of the high-velocity dryer. Murray gets along well with other dogs and cats. He enjoys canine companionship but is still learning appropriate play manners and can be a bit exuberant at times. A family willing to provide supervision, structure, and continued guidance will help him continue making great progress. Because Murray can be sensitive to certain sights and sounds outside of the fence, he would do best in a quieter environment with minimal outside distractions. A dog savvy, active home with a securely fenced yard, clear expectations, and plenty of physical and mental enrichment will be ideal for this bright young Collie. Murray is a happy, affectionate Collie who is ready to share his heart with a family of his own. With continued guidance, patience, and love, he will grow into a wonderful companion and a loyal best friend for years to come. Story
Bear N/M 7 months old
 61 pounds
Bear is a 7-month-old, sweet and affectionate pup who loves being close to his people. He has a calm, observant side—he’s just as happy laying nearby while you go about your routine as he is engaging in play. He is mostly housebroken with very few accidents and is crate trained. Bear sleeps in his crate at night and settles well once he’s in his routine. Bear is very friendly with people and has not shown any aggression toward people or other dogs. He is playful and enjoys interacting with other dogs, often excited to meet and run up to them. He is currently working on leash training and can pull at times, but he is food-motivated and responsive, which makes training a great opportunity for continued progress. He recently conquered his fear of going up and down stairs.  He’s still very much a puppy and would thrive in a home that has the time and energy to provide consistency, structure, and continued training.

Lance (M) Luke (M) and Lulu (F) 8 weeks old 5-7lbs Breed guess: Collie/Shepherd Mixes The L babies are the most darling, snuggly, precious puppies we've ever laid eyes on! They are so floofy and delightful with such innocent personalities. They are still itty bitty babies who are big sponges just waiting to learn all about life, love, and how to grow up to be awesome adult dogs! While we don't know the parents, we anticipate these puppies will grow into mid-to-larger breed adult dogs.

Story
Izzy (formerly Ostentatia Wallace) is a gentle, thoughtful soul who has quietly mastered the art of being an excellent house companion. Thought to be around 7 years old, she is fully house trained, non-destructive, and respectful of her surroundings—no counter surfing, no table begging, and no mischief when left alone. She crates well (with just a short moment to settle) and is incredibly easy to live with, making her the kind of dog who quickly feels like she’s always belonged.Izzy is very attentive to her people though does need slow introductions to new folks and does best in a calmer house with no young kids. She enjoys being near her humans, soaking up affection and attention, and loves being handled and petted. Izzy would like to be the only pet in the home and soak up all the attention. She already knows “sit” and, with her intelligence and willingness to learn, she has so much potential to pick up more cues and confidence-building skills.Outdoors, Izzy enjoys exploring and taking in her surroundings at her own pace. She isn’t particularly toy-motivated or fetch-focused, preferring relaxed romps and sniffing adventures. On leash, she gets excited when she sees other dogs or people and can be vocal.Izzy is a truly good girl—steady, loving, and ready for a home that will continue to help her grow in confidence while appreciating the wonderful dog she already is.Interested in adopting this dog?Visit our website (http://www.SecondCityCanineRescue.org) to fill out an application and to find out where this dog may be shown this weekend. We love our dogs.
