To learn more about Trip, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org. Say hello to Trip, a happy-go-lucky 1-year-old Australian Cattle Dog who’s ready to trip right into your heart. With his gorgeous blonde coat sprinkled with cute ticking, he’s as striking as he is sweet. This friendly pup has loved all people, including kids, and soaks up attention from anyone who will give it to him. He generally walks well on leash, with the occasional investigative sniff work when something interests him. He takes treats gently, knows “sit,” and loves to play fetch—he can even catch a ball mid-air like a little furry outfielder! He’ll chase anything you toss, bring it back proudly, and also happily entertain himself with toys he picks out on his own. Trip has energy to spare, a big zest for life, and a heart full of happy. He sleeps like a champ through the night and is doing well with his potty training. Since he is both food- and toy-motivated, this will make him a great candidate for training as he grows. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, people-loving, toy-loving whirlwind of joy, Trip is ready to take you on the adventure of a lifetime. Bring him home and let the fun begin!

To learn more about Ringo, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org. A Day in the Life of Ringo: Play, Cuddles, Repeat! Meet Ringo, an 8-month-old cattle dog mix who’s ready to rock your world! This playful and curious pup is already stealing hearts with his stunning brindled coat, big personality, and endless zest for life. He loves everyone he meets and thrives on adventure. Whether he’s chasing balls, running free in the yard, or showing off his growing list of commands, Ringo’s enthusiasm is contagious. Ringo is very smart—the kind of clever that keeps you laughing and on your toes. He’s eager to please, loves treats (almost as much as his toys!), and is learning quickly what it means to be a well-mannered young gentleman. He’s house-trained, a good car companion, and enjoys relaxing by the door, watching the world go by or napping close to his favorite human. Like any bright, young pup, Ringo needs both physical exercise and mental challenges to keep his tail wagging. He’d do best with an active adopter who enjoys being outdoors and has a fully fenced yard where he can safely zoom to his heart’s content. He’s still growing out of his puppy antics—a bit jumpy, mouthy, and full of energy—but with patience, consistency, and continued training, Ringo will mature into an incredible lifelong companion. If you’re ready to team up with a fun, whip-smart pup who’ll keep you laughing, learning, and moving, come meet Ringo today—he’s ready to join your fab family!

DAPHNE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Daphne and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (1/4) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Alexandria, VA (3351 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22305)!   Name:   Daphne          Best Guess for Breed:   Cattle dog/heeler mix    Best Guess for Age:   3 years as of December 2025        SEX:    Female   Approximate Weight:   43 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Daphne is Looking For:   Her forever home! This happy girl - seriously, are you kidding with that smile?! - has got all that awesome young-dog energy and is eager for sniffy trotting walks and all the adventures her new humans can dream up (heeler mixes and their energy - IYKYK!). Once she's gotten her wiggles out she's ready to have a place she can come home to with yummy food and a cushy dog bed - yes, those too! But you know what she wants most of all? To know where she belongs, to spend time with her favorite people, and to be safe and loved. Daphne has so much to give to her humans - adoring gazes, love, and loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Can you see her trotting by your side?  What My Foster Says About Me:    Daphne is an absolute sweetheart and the definition of companion. She matches the energy and play style of every single dog she meets and loves every dog and person. She is a true couch potato who would sleep all day only to wake for breakfast and dinner which she is so excited for every single time. She has learned sit and has not had any accidents in her foster home. Her permanent smile makes any day instantly brighter. She does not live with kids but is the gentlest soul ever and has met many out and about and is great with them! Wherever her pack is, she is, a true Velcro pup. She also has an iconic sploot. She is the best every day errand pal too, just an absolute bestie. She hangs in coffee shops and falls right to sleep under the table, only to wake when new friends come to greet her. Story
To learn more about Bert, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org. Meet Bert, your new snuggly adventure buddy! Bert is an energetic 3-year-old Australian Shepherd mix with the heart of a giant marshmallow. He’s a friendly, people-loving goofball who thinks life is best lived at full speed—unless it’s couch-snuggle time, in which case he melts into you like warm butter. He loves meeting new humans and bonds with his people quickly. This handsome guy is an adventurer at heart. He’s thoroughly enjoyed park strolls, backyard zoomies, fetch marathons, and sniffing every interesting smell within a 5-mile radius. He’s also impressively smart—he already knows “sit,” “heel,” “lie down,” and “come,” and will stop what he’s doing with just a clap (basically dog magic). Bert can get a bit overexcited around some dogs and when he spots squirrels or birds, so walks with him are never boring. Because of his abundant zest for life, a home with adults or older teens is ideal. Once he burns off his energy, he settles into a calm, easygoing companion who loves napping nearby and checking in for the occasional dose of affection. At his core, Bert is a sweet, affectionate, hilarious pup who wants a home where he can run, play, explore, and then flop dramatically onto you for love. Loyal, cuddly, and full of personality, he’ll bring tons of joy—and plenty of funny stories—to whoever adopts him. Come meet Bert today and get ready to fall in love with this fun-loving guy!
