Story
A5735039 Niu Niu is a 2-year-old, 29 lb neutered male Welsh Corgi mix with a handsome black and brown coat. Surrendered by his owner on October 25, 2025, this sweet little guy has found shelter life confusing and scary, but once he feels safe, his affectionate personality starts to shine through. He’s calm, gentle, and happiest when he’s getting belly rubs or sitting quietly by your side. Niu Niu walks nicely on leash, is easy to handle, and shows signs of being housebroken. Though initially shy and unsure, he warms up with patience and love. His energy level is low to medium — perfect for someone looking for a quiet, steady companion rather than a high-energy pup. Niu Niu is a kindhearted, sensitive boy who just needs a patient home willing to give him the reassurance and affection he deserves. -2 years old, neutered male, 29 lbs -Welsh Corgi mix, black and brown coat -Owner surrender on 10/25/2025 -Shy at first but warms up with kindness -Calm, affectionate, and gentle -Loves belly rubs and quiet companionship -Walks well on leash and easy to examine -Shows signs of housebreaking -Low to medium energy level -Sensitive sweetheart who’ll blossom with patience and love     NIU NIU’S VIDEO: https://youtube.com/shorts/IVgB For more information, contact volunteer Lor at  lor@unitedhopeforanimals.org Photo Credit @ Look up this or other animals at Baldwin Park Animal Care Center https://animalcare.lacounty.gov/view-our-animals/    Use their unique ID NUMBER. Story
Meet Nala Breed: Pembroke Welsh Corgi Age:  12/04/2024 Weight: 25 pounds currently Gender: Female (Spayed) Personality Nala is a bundle of joy and affection, always ready to brighten up your day with her infectious happiness. She loves nothing more than a good belly rub and is known to roll right over, inviting you to give her some love. Her friendly nature makes her an excellent companion for both humans and other dogs. She has a gentle disposition and is wonderful with children, making her a perfect family pet. Breed Information Pembroke Welsh Corgis are known for their intelligence, loyalty, and energetic personalities. Despite their small stature, they are sturdy and agile, often displaying a playful and spirited demeanor. Corgis are herding dogs by nature, so they require regular exercise and mental stimulation to keep them happy and healthy. What to Expect As a Corgi owner, you can expect a loyal companion who is eager to please. Nala will thrive in a home where she gets plenty of attention and companionship. Regular walks, playtime, and interaction with other dogs will keep her content. Her herding instincts may occasionally lead her to gently nip at heels, but with proper training, this can be managed. Owner's Responsibilities Exercise: Ensure Nala gets sufficient daily exercise to burn off her youthful energy. A combination of walks, playtime, and mental challenges will be ideal. Training: Enroll her in obedience classes to reinforce her social skills and manage any herding tendencies. Corgis are quick learners, so consistent training will yield great results. Grooming: Regular brushing is important to manage her shedding and keep her coat healthy. Corgis typically shed year-round, with heavier shedding during seasonal changes. Health Care: Keep up with regular vet check-ups and vaccinations. Be mindful of her diet to maintain a healthy weight, as Corgis can be prone to obesity. Affection and Socialization: Provide plenty of love and social interaction. Nala will thrive in an environment where she feels part of the family. Adopting Nala means committing to a lifelong friend who will bring joy and laughter into your life. Whether she's playing in the yard or snuggling up next to you on the couch, Nala is sure to be a beloved member of your family.   If you are interested in adopting this amazing dog, please go to our website https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/ and fill out an application. Story
Daisy is a quirky 7-year-old Pembroke Corgi in Los Angeles. She’s in safe remission from IMHA but needs daily medication. Daisy loves cuddling during movies, belly rubs, and her favorite thing is fetch - she’d do it for hours if she could. She’s house-trained, walks well on a leash, and is spayed and microchipped. Daisy would do best as the only pet in a calm home with no kids, as she has shown some aggression around toddlers. We’re heartbroken to rehome her, but we do not have the time or resources to tend to her needs. With the right, patient, and experienced adopter we think she would be much more happy.

Story
Meet our precious Butterscotch. She is a Riverside Shelter survivor who was in danger of euthanasia due to having a seizure disorder. Butterscotch is a 1 year old Papillion/Corgi Mix and weighs about 12 lbs. She’s a sweet girl with a beautiful smile and a beautiful spirit. She’s resilient and strong. She currently lives in a foster home with other dogs and where someone is home 24/7. We are currently trying a new treatment for her seizures and are still trying to find the best approach to control them. Butterscotch has both grand mal seizures (seldomly) and focal seizures more frequently. Her forever family will need to be committed to her medicine regimen and also having patience with navigating her challenges. She will do best in a home with experienced dog owners who are patient and will also have the dedication to navigate through her challenges with her. She loves chew toys, she's very treat motivated, and she’s dog and cat friendly. She’s a happy girl with a beautiful spirit. She will bring her new family lots of love and joy. We are excited to help her find her new forever family. Adoption Interest applications are on our website www.jointhescars.org under “forms.” We thank you in advance for your interest in adopting one of our heroes and for your patience through the process. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Story
Oso was rescued from the San Pedro Harbor Animal Shelter, San Pedro, CA on 7/17/25. He was surrendered to the shelter by his owner of six years. Oso was in the front yard with the gate open when a child ran down the street pass the open gate. Oso ran after him but came back and there was no bite incident or anything. However, the landlord saw this and told thr owner he had to give up the dog. Oso and owner were reluntantly crushed. Too bad they didn't try to board him and then get another apt. He is in foster care with my rescue and has been with me for two weeks as of 7/17.25. At first he was very aloof and scared. He does suffer from separation anxiety so needs a home where he is not left alone all day but now after two weeks he is doing okay with me going out. He has never been crated and is 100% housebroken and plays with stuffed toys and tennis balls. He is okay with small dogs, both sexes but not large dogs. Not been around cats. He needs a home without children or visiting grandchildren. He fetches and chases tennis balls. He has never been crated and sleeps in a doggie bed or pad. After two weeks in his foster home, heis getting to be quite affectonate and loves to be petted. He is good at the groomer's and his teeth are in excellent condition. He is current on all his shots and neutered. The owner filled out a very extensive and thorough owner interview/surrender info sheet. He is very afraid of fireworks. He did spent time with a poodle and chihuahua. He barks at people until he goes used to them but is not aggressive but needs time to decompress which is what he has done for the last 2 weeks in his foster home. Better photos coming.
