Story

Meet our precious Butterscotch. She is a Riverside Shelter survivor who was in danger of euthanasia due to having a seizure disorder. Butterscotch is a 1 year old Papillion/Corgi Mix and weighs about 12 lbs. She’s a sweet girl with a beautiful smile and a beautiful spirit. She’s resilient and strong. She currently lives in a foster home with other dogs and where someone is home 24/7. We are currently trying a new treatment for her seizures and are still trying to find the best approach to control them. Butterscotch has both grand mal seizures (seldomly) and focal seizures more frequently. Her forever family will need to be committed to her medicine regimen and also having patience with navigating her challenges. She will do best in a home with experienced dog owners who are patient and will also have the dedication to navigate through her challenges with her. She loves chew toys, she's very treat motivated, and she’s dog and cat friendly. She’s a happy girl with a beautiful spirit. She will bring her new family lots of love and joy. We are excited to help her find her new forever family. I saw this handsome guy at a high kill shelter with only a few days left to find a home and my heart broke. I couldn’t get myself to leave without him. Unfortunately, he does not get along with my cat. His corgi side is prey driven and he stalks my cat all day. Other than that, he’s an amazing boy. He is 2 years old, is potty trained, walks excellent on a leash, sleeps in bed with me all night, cuddles in the morning and rides well in the car. He plays tug of war and loves to run, despite his tiny legs, he quick as lightning. I am devastated that I can’t keep him but I tried everything and taking him back to the shelter is not an option. I’m hoping someone will look him in the eyes and see their soul dog. Help me find him the home he needs.

Ami is a 13 year old Corgi Mix. She has been with my husband and I since she was 8 weeks old! She is a calm, indoor dog who likes cuddles. She is sweet with my children. I need to rehome her because sadly my 5 year old son has dog allergies. He has been breaking out in rashes and we got him tested. I would love for her to go to a good home where she will be loved.

Blue is a beautiful dog, (2 yrs)which I adopted about seven months before moving to college. I thought my mom would be able to handle him at home, but he was such an energetic dog. I had to give him away to a family friend fast-forward two years later I found out that family friend was abusing this dog and not giving him the care he needed. As a result, he has become quite traumatized and certain things set him off. He is reactive to feet, brooms and can get territorial over items, but he’s also the sweetest kindest most playful dog. He just definitely has PTSD from what he went through. Looking for someone who has the time and patience to train him. He knows basic commands like sit, paw, hi-five, spin, lay down, but he is a stubborn dog and chooses to not listen to his name when called. because of his reactive behavior, he has bitten before and I’m just still in the middle of school. I can’t keep him any longer. I just hope he can find someone with the patience and love that he needs.

We’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to begin looking for a new home for Ghost. He is deeply loved and this is not a decision we ever imagined making, but we want to do what’s best for both him and the people around him. Ghost is incredibly smart, loyal, affectionate with his people, and thrives in a structured environment. He is e-collar trained, knows his commands well, and loves routines, enrichment, and being close to his person. He does struggle with reactivity and has shown behavioral challenges and unfortunately has triggers, so he will need a very experienced, patient, and understanding home that is familiar with dogs who require management and consistency. Because of this, we believe he would do best in an adult-only home with someone experienced in handling reactive dogs. We are committed to finding the right fit and are in no rush — his safety and future are the most important thing to us. If you or someone you trust may be a good fit, please message me.
