Story
Gretel is a super sweetheart that has recently lost her vision due to a disease called SARDS. She gets along very well using her other senses to find her way.  She loves humans, however she is not a fan of other dogs. We think that this is partly because she can't see the body language of the other dogs. She comes when you call her, and will follow you everywhere. She LOVES laps. She came to us weighing 24 pounds and has lost 4 pounds already.  She will need to loose another 3-4 pounds and she will be a great weight once again. She will need a home with a yard as she came from a home that had a yard and she doesn't do well doing her business on a leash.  We think that a home that has someone home the majority of the time, and no young children would be the best place for her.  She has had a recent dental, stayed, UTD on all her vaccinations, and is micro chipped.  May 2, 2024, 6:23 pm

Story
Gibbs - MN Dachshund x 3.5 yrs est. birthday 10/28/2020 and he is a whopping 9.8 lbs.   Can you believe we saw Gibbs at a shelter and no one wanted this adorable little shortie? Gibbs is a doxie/chi mix and those ears are to die for!  I just want to pet him and snuggle him.  Since he has the doxie in him and a long doxie back, older children over 10 are going to be the best fit as he can be injured easily.  Gibbs will need a safe yard (they can get out easily) and door safety rules (if you have kids). He would like a friend to play with as he is playful!  Put in an application today at eapl.com.  His adoption fee is $375 May 4, 2024, 8:47 pm

Story
Meet Stella and amazing young lady who's ready for her forever home.  She LOVES playing with the other dogs in her foster home big and small,  and is doing great with the cats as well.  She's a Doxy mix maybe with some Labby/Shep??  She is a little shy with people at first but has come out of her shell quickly with her foster parents and is now seeking lap cuddles and being with them. She will do best in a home with other doggies and humans that are willing to take some time to remind her that humans can be really awesome!!!  Put in an application at EAPL.COM.  her  adoption fee is $375 May 4, 2024, 8:47 pm

Story
Evie is a very sweet dog recently rescued from a Colorado breeder. She is five years old and has a shy and quiet disposition. She is doing exceptionally well in her house training and will ask you quietly to be let outside so please be willing to pay attention to learn her cues. She is crate trained but prefers to snuggle with you in bed at night and hang out with you during the day. She would prefer someone who is home throughout the day or who is willing to take her along on errands. She loves other dogs and especially enjoys the outdoors and meeting new friends along the way. She would love to have a family who is patient and kind so she can feel both safe and secure in her environment. Her new home must have a secure fenced in backyard OR someone in the home willing to take her for multiple 30 minute plus walks per day as she seems to really shine outdoors. We are looking for the perfect fit for little Miss Evie and not just any home. Adoption fee negotiable to right family.

Story
Saucily sporting a brown “pirate patch” over her left eye is sweet 1-year-old Sammie. Saved from an abusive situation, she swiftly settled into her foster home and puts all of her 19 pounds into being the most snuggly little lap dog around. Happiest when she’s touching her foster mom and showering her with kisses, she’s equally happy learning about all things dog from her older foster sister, following in her paw steps and winning an “A” for effort. She now loves going for walks, honing her leash skills along the way (she may make an excellent hiking companion), and despite her prey drive, she’s been doing well with the resident cats. Coming when called and starting to work on her basic commands, Sammie is mainly motivated by love and is crate trained and almost fully house-trained. With much still to learn and much love to share, this sociable sweetheart will thrive in a loving home that will continue bolstering her confidence, complete her training, including her commands, and keep her happily fulfilled, both mentally and physically, fur-ever. Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order they're submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If your home sounds like a good match for you and the pet, we will connect you with our dogs' foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a "meet and greet" is set up. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to finalize the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375.  Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email  dogs@arrcolorado.org  for more information, as we can't accept calls at this time. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
