Story

Xena is a beautiful 14 month old in Jacksonville, Alabama. (Selma is my old address) She is energetic and loves chasing balls and playing with her pull toy. She knows some simple commands: come, sit, shake, down, stay back, wait, and and get down She can be nervous and shy around new people, but eases up after getting to know them a bit. I was recently was diagnosed with a serious illness, and she has become too much for me to handle. She needs an active owner willing to walk and play with her. She is mostly an inside dog and is used to being able to get on the furniture. She’s fine outside, and doesn’t scratch to come in, but she’s never been out for more than an hour. She is crate trained, but I only put her in it when I have to leave the house for 4 hours or less. The crate would be included. Her new owner should be committed to keep training her, provide mental stimulation, and provide a loving home.

Johnny Cash is a 3-year-old male mix who will need to be neutered before adoption. Found out in the county with no one to claim him, he’s a handsome tan dog with white markings on his feet and chest. Weighing 38 pounds, he’s a medium-sized adult with a playful, active personality—and quite the escape artist! He’ll need a securely fenced yard where he can enjoy playing safely, ideally with a family that has children. He also gets along well with other dogs. Energetic and loving, little Johnny Cash has a soulful charm worthy of his namesake. Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120. Cat/kitten adoption fees are $75. He is almost entirely white with black markings on his head and ears, and has a docked tail. Weighing 42 pounds, Cash will likely grow into a large adult dog. He’s extremely playful and will need a securely fenced yard where he can safely run and play to burn off energy. German Shorthaired Pointers are known for their intelligence, high playfulness, and affectionate nature, thriving on human companionship. They are eager learners, vigilant watchdogs, and remain friendly and sociable. Cash’s strong bond with his owner and high energy mean he’ll need consistent mental and physical stimulation to live his best life. Because of his energy, it’s ideal for his adopter to be familiar with the breed and its activity level. We believe Cash would be good with children—probably best with older kids—and with other dogs, though a meet-and-greet would be required if you already have one. Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120. Myer has a light tan coat with some white markings, weighs 14 pounds, and is expected to grow into a medium-sized adult. He’s an active, playful, and delightful dog who loves everyone he meets.
