Story
Uncle Clarence is not here for chaos. He is here for peace, snacks, and a very specific kind of human who understands that trust is earned slowly and intentionally. Clarence came to us after living a life that clearly did not offer much stability, consistency, or kindness. While we do not know all the details of his past, it is obvious he did not experience normal handling, structure, or positive human interactions early on. Because of that, he learned to keep his guard up and rely on himself. New things feel scary. New people feel suspicious. And that makes complete sense. He is not leash trained and he is not house trained, but he does use potty pads reliably and does very well with that routine. Outdoor walks are not something he is comfortable with at this time, and his future home will need to respect that and allow him to progress at his own pace, if he ever chooses to. Strangers are not his favorite. He approaches new people with a strong “I don’t know you and I didn’t ask for this” energy. But give him time, calm energy, and patience, and he slowly begins to soften. When Clarence decides he trusts you, it is a big deal. Belly rubs become allowed. Following you from room to room becomes normal. Being chosen by Clarence is an earned privilege. Clarence needs a quiet, understanding home with someone who truly gets that dogs like him are not broken. They are shaped by what they survived. He will thrive with someone who values routine, patience, and small victories and who finds joy in watching trust grow instead of expecting it instantly. He is not a plug and play dog. He is a slow burn, earned love, slightly grumpy, deeply loyal little soul who bonds hard once you are in his circle. His $300 adoption fee covers his neuter, vaccines, parasite prevention, and microchip. Apply on our website at fullcirclerescueandsanctuary.com Fair warning. Once you earn his trust, he will follow you everywhere and silently judge your snack choices forever.
