Story
Merk is a handsome hound with a big heart and an even bigger personality! This sweet guy is looking for a forever home with someone who understands hounds and loves their quirks- especially the musical ones! True to his breed, Merk can be quite the talker and has a lot to say about the world around him. He's quite sensitive to outside stimuli and does get vocal in response. Merk is looking for an experienced dog owner who can help him feel secure and where he can relish in all the attention he needs. A shelter is a tough place for a fella like Merk, everything is a bit much for him at times, and he gets frantic and has a tough time relaxing when his mind is set on something!Although he can be quite excitable at times, Merk does settle down when things are calm and he is able to show off his affectionate and goofy side- giving you kisses every chance he gets! In a home, hes a whole new hound, and deeply enjoys the time he gets to spend with you. He loves to stand and lean against you while receiving butt rubs, and doesnt want you to stop! Merk really enjoys squeaky toys, spiky balls are his favorite, and he will happily run after them and squeak them to his heart's content!Merk is looking for a home that can give him guidance, patience, and love. Who can show him positive reinforcement training and gentle learning encouragement as he enters this newfound world. If you're a hound savvy human who has room in your heart and home for one deserving dog, Merk may be the fella for you! Please feel free to fill out an application if you think Merk would be a good fit! Story
✨️ Meet Harley, a golden-hearted senior looking for a soft place to land. ✨️His journey with us began when his loving mom had to move into a seniors residence that couldn't accommodate dogs. It was a heartbreaking decision for her 💔, but made out of pure love and the hope that Harley would find a family who could continue giving him the comfort and care he deserves.Harley is now on the lookout for a foster-to-adopt home to help him through the last stretch of his weight-loss journey - just under five pounds to go before he's ready for his dental procedure. Dental health matters for dogs too! 🦷🐾This boy's personality is an easy blend of calm, steady, and quietly charming. He gets along beautifully with every dog he meets, even if he can't help offering a few barks when dogs pass by on his walks. Speaking of walks, he loves them - and would happily go for more (though we get that winter makes that a bit more challenging ❄️). He's also a big fan of car rides and will gladly hop in for whatever adventure you have in mind.Harley's bedtime routine is one of his sweetest quirks; he's used to sleeping at the foot of his person's bed, and in foster care he's continued that tradition without missing a beat. A comfy dog bed near yours is all he needs to settle in and snooze peacefully. He'll also play with toys when encouraged, and once he gets going, he gets adorably vocal about how much fun he's having 🎾.Harley is simply hoping for a home that will cheer him on, help him finish his weight-loss goals, and give him the gentle, loving environment every senior deserves. If you think you might be that person, we'd love to chat about helping Harley begin his next chapter. 💛🐶https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Harley, neutered male, Miniature (😆 soon) Poodle/Bichon Frise, 12 years,ID# 618885 Primary Color: Brown Weight: 14.6 Age: 12yrs 1mths 1wks

Story
Meet Lou - The Two-Toned-Eyed Tour Guide of Life 🐾👀If you've ever wished for a sidekick who is equal parts hilarious, loyal, and mysteriously handsome, allow us to introduce Lou. Yes, his eyes are two different colours. Yes, he knows he's gorgeous. And yes, he will still refuse to pose well for the camera no matter how many treats you wave above your head. 📸😂Lou is a playful little Frenchie fellow who doesn't discriminate - he'll play with you, your friends, your neighbour's dog, or even entertain himself if you're slacking. His favourite toy in the entire universe? A simple ball. Bounce it, roll it, squeak it, or accidentally kick it across the room - Lou is READY.He's a social guy and does well with other dogs. Cats? Hard to say... he hasn't filled out his official opinion card yet.Lou is also incredibly food motivated, so if you're looking for a dog who learns tricks with enthusiasm (and a little dramatic flair), he's your guy. He already knows "sit pretty" and "shake a paw." Will he use these skills to charm snacks out of you? Absolutely. Now, if you're looking for a lap dog... Lou respectfully declines. He is not an on-your-lap type, but he loves hanging out right beside you like the world's cutest little shadow. Laundry? Sure. Dishes? Why not. Walk around the block? Great. Doom scrolling TikTok for 45 minutes? Oh, he's in. If you're doing it, he wants to be part of the team.Curious and observant, Lou likes to investigate every nook and cranny. If something exists, he wants to check it out. If something moves, he wants to know where it's going. If something squeaks... well, that's probably his ball.Lou is ready to find a family who loves a dog with personality, charm, mismatched eyes, and a talent for sabotaging every photo you attempt to take of him. 💙If this little Frenchie wonder sounds like your new best friend, hit the link below to apply - Lou is waiting to "sit pretty" just for you!https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/Lou, male, Frenchie, 1yr 10mths, ID# 619726 Primary Color: Blue Merle Secondary Color: White Weight: 11.8 Age: 1yrs 11mths 0wks
