Story
Meet Sweet Spirited Shadow! This sweet guy has a heart as big as his puppy paws! He's a fella who wants nothing more than to be close to his people, if you're looking for a dog who thinks the best place in the world is your lap, Shadow might be the one for you!Like most puppies, Shadow is still learning his manners and needs someone who can guide him with patience, consistency, and lots of positive reinforcement. He is super smart and eager to learn especially when treats are involved and would do well in a home where he can get his energy out and work his mind! Because he is still navigating this big world, Shadow is pretty nervous of new things and new people so would do best with someone who can gently help him build confidence. Shadow is a BIG foodie and in turn he does have a bit of resource guarding around his food. We haven't seen this behaviour come out in shelter, but he will need an adopter who's understanding, gentle, and is willing to work with him on his puppy manners with positive reinforcement so he can continue to learn and grow. He has been good with other dogs in the past and is quite playful and bouncy, but would still do best with slow introductions. Due to Shadows high energy, he might not be a good fit for a home with younger children, however, he may do well with older kids who don't mind a bit of jumping as he learns. If your looking for more snuggles then you can ever imagine, a puppy who will adore you with his whole heart, and are ready to help Shadow grow into the confident guy he is within, please fill out an application below. Story
Meet Marvelous Merk! Merk is a handsome hound with a big heart and an even bigger personality! This sweet guy is looking for a forever home with someone who understands hounds and loves their quirks- especially the musical ones! True to his breed, Merk can be quite the talker and has a lot to say about the world around him. He's quite sensitive to outside stimuli and does get vocal in response. Merk could potentially do well with another dog in the home as he has had positive interactions with a few dogs, although he is selective with them and can be a bit much for other dogs. He is looking for an experienced dog owner who can help him feel secure and where he can relish in all the attention he needs. Although he can be quite excitable at times, Merk does settle down when things are calm and he is able to show off his affectionate and goofy side- giving you kisses every chance he gets! He loves to stand and lean against you while receiving butt rubs. Merk really enjoys squeaky toys, spiky balls are his favorite, and he will happily run after them and squeak them to his heart's content!Merk is looking for a home that can give him guidance, patience, and love. Who can show him positive reinforcement training and gentle learning encouragement as he enters this newfound world. If you're a hound savvy human who has room in your heart and home for one deserving dog, Merk may be the fella for you! Please feel free to fill out an application if you think Merk would be a good fit! Story
Meet Adorable Alita! This sweet girl is a playful pup with energy to burn. Alita is looking for a home that can keep her body and mind busy with fun activities and adventures. She is learning to walk nicely on the leash and to keep her feet on the ground, but she will need some guidance with positive reinforcement training. Alita has not been introduced to other dogs in shelter yet, but she seems very interested in them and would potentially do well with a canine friend. Due to her bouncy nature, she may not be a good fit for a home with small children, however she may do well with older dog-savvy kids.Alita has a spay booked for December 9th and would be able to go home after that. If you are interested in adopting her, please send in an application!https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: White Weight: 16 Age: 4yrs 0mths 1wks

Story
Meet Lexi - formally known as Lexington when she's feeling fancy - the brilliant, ball-chasing, cookie-detecting queen of fun! 🎾🍪This gorgeous gal has brains and personality. She knows all her basics, plus a perfect paw-shake... and, uh, she can also open lever door handles. (We do not recommend playing hide-and-seek unless you enjoy losing. 😂)Lexi is happiest as the one and only hound of the household - she's a "spoil me, love me, worship me" type of girl, and honestly? She deserves it. She can coexist with dog-savvy cats who understand that she is, in fact, the main character. While Lexi tends to bond most quickly with women, she's absolutely open to making friends with calm, gentle men who understand the art of winning a dog's trust (hint: cookies help). This adventure-loving superstar is equally thrilled to blaze trails outdoors or flop dramatically onto the couch for snuggle time with her people. She's the perfect balance of explorer + couch-goblin.Health-wise, she does have allergies, but they're easily managed with a special diet and a monthly injection - no fuss, no stress, just smooth sailing for this lovely lady.If you're looking for a smart, hilarious, affectionate, door-opening adventure buddy who will keep you laughing every single day, Lexi is your girl.Ready to meet the legend that is Lexington? 💛🏡https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/Lexi, spayed female, Shepherd X, 5 years, ID# 528093 Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Cream Weight: 37.2 Age: 5yrs 0mths 4wks
