This sweet guy is looking for a forever home with someone who understands hounds and loves their quirks- especially the musical ones! True to his breed, Merk can be quite the talker and has a lot to say about the world around him. He's quite sensitive to outside stimuli and does get vocal in response. Merk could potentially do well with another dog in the home as he has had positive interactions with a few dogs, although he is selective with them and can be a bit much for other dogs. He is looking for an experienced dog owner who can help him feel secure and where he can relish in all the attention he needs. Although he can be quite excitable at times, Merk does settle down when things are calm and he is able to show off his affectionate and goofy side- giving you kisses every chance he gets! He loves to stand and lean against you while receiving butt rubs. Merk really enjoys squeaky toys, spiky balls are his favorite, and he will happily run after them and squeak them to his heart's content!Merk is looking for a home that can give him guidance, patience, and love. This sweet little gal is ready to find the quiet, calm and understanding home she's been dreaming of, and settle in with her new family.Teensy is a nervous little lady and finds life to be a bit frightening with all the activity we navigate day to day. She is hoping for an adopter who is experienced and committed to helping her find coping skills and working with her to ease her discomfort in new situations. She does better in familiar environments and thrives on routine and predictability! Teensy has been showing us sneak peaks and bits of her loving and gentle personality, getting the odd zoomies here and there, and relishing in pets and love offered by her friends. She doesn't want you to stop loving on her and gently paws and whines for more of your attention. We can't wait to see her true personality shine through and know she will be a very loving companion! She loves to snuggle up in her bed, and has been playing with a few of her toys, so we know with some progress she will thrive!We know Teensy is cute as a button and everyone will want her, but she is seeking an adopter who is willing to attend Animal Kind Training sessions that we arrange and be comfortable administering her anxiety medications. Her ideal adopter is committed to her welfare and ensuring they follow the behavior plans to give Teensy the best chance at feeling better day to day. She is learning to walk nicely on the leash and to keep her feet on the ground, but she will need some guidance with positive reinforcement training. Luckily, she really loves her treats and is always eager for some!Alita has not been introduced to other dogs in shelter yet, but she seems very interested in them and would potentially do well with a canine friend. Due to her bouncy nature, she may not be a good fit for a home with small children, however she may do well with older dog-savvy kids. Alita has a spay booked for December 9th and would be able to go home after that. Boston is the sweetest senior you'll meet!He thinks he is a lapdog and loves to be close to his people. He loves people of all ages, gets along great with cats and has been in a foster home with other dogs seamlessly of all sizes.He does seem to be reactive to other dogs on occasion, so slow introductions are important to keep everyone happy.Boston is a funny guy and can be very vocal, but he is generally a chill guy, he just really loves food!Boston came into care suffering from some pretty uncomfortable skin infections due to untreated allergies. He is currently on a special diet for his allergies, and is finishing up a course of oral antibiotics to heal some lingering wounds.He has been vet checked and is in great health for his age.
