Say hello to Kota! This guy is loving and goofy, and wants nothing more than to get all your attention and to be doted on. He's the most handsome, and sweetest guy you have ever seen, and when you first lay eyes on him, it will definitely be love at first sight! This big goofy guy loves his people and loves to snuggle, always leaning in and putting his body against you for pets and rubs. He will flop down on the ground to show you his belly for rubs, his big face and neck rolls and squishing back to make a hilarious face at you! He loves to throw his toys around in the air, and has a blast chasing them around. He loves getting outside and going for adventures, he will happily sniff his surroundings while taking in all the scents. He's also content to lounge around in the grass, soaking up the sun. Kota would do best as the only pet in the home, as he does have a prey drive and is selective with other dogs.If you're interested in Kota, send us an application! https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 45.9 Age: 4yrs 5mths 3wks

Story
Teddy here is looking for a special and understanding home that can give him the consistent environment he craves, paired with LOTS of love and scritches.Teddy came from a home with many many other dogs, which meant for him, he has never been at the center of someone's world. We are hoping to help this handsome lad change that, and cant wait to give him the place he deserves to shine and thrive. This fella is seeking an adult only, single pet environment, that features experienced guardians, low levels of new visitors, patience and understanding. This fella has a lot of fear when it comes to new people and situations, and can be quite reactive and upset when his world shifts around. New people are something he is working on getting more comfortable with, and doesn't appreciate grabby hands who don't respect his space. Being so little, the world can be scary, and small dogs often don't have their boundaries respected, which results in defensive behaviour. We find he displays this a lot when around other dogs towards people, and wouldn't be suited to live with other pets at this time in his life. He needs to work on confidence and training as just Teddy for now!Once this boy gets to know and love you... Oh BOY, are you sure in his special club! Teddy ADORES his besties, and will dance and beg at your legs to be pet and snuggled. He paws are your hands when you stop petting on him, and begs for more! Teddy wants to just be in your lap getting those nice deep tissue rubs he heard all about! He likes car rides and sniffing the world away, so would love consistent walks to get his energy out!If you are an experienced dog owner and have the right home and environment to offer Teddy, please apply below! Story
Are you seeking a soulful best friend who needs a bit of understanding and love? Well look no further, and meet our sweet fella Diesel! This beautiful boy came into care with his brother, and is seeking to start his own journey alone so he can get what he truly needs for the rest of his days. Diesel can be quite insecure and unsure, and takes some time to warm up to new people visiting him. He does best with routine and positive reinforcement, utilizing redirection and praise! He can show up with this "tough guy" attitude to new comers, and appreciates feeling safe and secure with a slow approach. His ideal guardian would be a confident and keen owner who can help him navigate this using positive methods and know he is safe and new people = fun and great things!Once you've gotten to know Diesel and are in his fan club, you get that fullll membership access to unlimited bum scratches, his signature full body lean, and lots of love! He makes the cutest and sweetest little whines and cries when he sees you coming, and ADORES his besties! He will bond so well his new person, he just needs someone who understands his lack of confidence shows in a defensive attitude and he needs guidance for this. Diesel can be selective with other dogs, and can resource guard high value items with canine companions. He does seem to find comfort around them, but shows alot more of his tough guy attitude when around them, so would be best to live as the only pet. He may make great friends in his future, but really needs to be the center of the show to become his very best self and get the training he needs. Diesel is also seeking a home with no small pets, as he does have a prey drive and wouldn't be compatible to live with them.If you're interested, send us an application! https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 35 Age: 6yrs 6mths 1wks

Story
Chevy is ready to steal hearts and show off his winning personality! This sweet boy loves attention and loves to snuggle while enjoying pets. He is a big fan of toys and will happily hold them in his mouth, or bury them to keep them safe. His happy stuffy dance is so precious to see!Chevy is selective with other dogs, and would do best in a home with no other dogs as he does tend to resource guard his food and toys from others, and needs to feel safe with his own space. His perfect owner would be an experience guardian who can observe his body language meeting new friends and keep his interactions positive! Chevy does get along well with cats and children, and wouldn't mind a home with people around to love on him often.Walking is a sport to this guy, so get ready to GO! He is a strong boy, so he could benefit from some positive reinforcement training to help him learn on-leash manners.Chev is motivated and ready to learn, and just needs the right person to guide him in life. His personality is happy-go-lucky and he will be content to either accompany you on an adventure, or cuddle up on the couch, and sure doesn't fuss over a lazy day in.This boy does have food sensitivities and will need to be kept on a specific diet to keep his skin and coat in good condition, and him feeling his most comfortable self! He gets very excited at meal times and is always eager for a treat, and sure wont let you skimp out on the goods. If Chevy has stolen your heart, send us an application! https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: White Weight: 27.8 Age: 6yrs 1mths 0wks

Story
Duke is a sweet boy who is ready to accompany you on adventures and stick by your side. He's quite active, and loves to run around in the yard being goofy, tossing his toys around like he's putting on a show! He would ADORE a home that can keep him busy and active, and sure doesn't show his age. He will play play play all day if he can, and adores a good game of fetch with his people. Duke has lived with another dog his whole life, and has had good interactions with others while in our care. He seems to get quite upset when alone from his canine pals, so would really benefit from a home with an existing dog to keep him company and help him ease this anxiety. Like walks? Well Duke is your man! This boy feels like walks should be a professional sport and can slay the competition with his enthusiasm and zest for go! He is still working on gentle walking, and can pull a bit to get going. He does best with a harness and redirection, and will thrive with some gentle guidance! Duke does have a prey drive when it comes to small animals, so is seeking a home without them to keep everyone comfortable and happy! He would adore a home with someone around often, and will make someone feel so special with his gentle and fun personality! If you're interested, send us an application! https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: Tan Weight: 30.7 Age: 6yrs 10mths 2wks

Story
Meet the elegant Ellie! This sweet lady is such a playful and fun girl, with a little love and time, she will surely be your best friend! Ellie loves her people sooo much, she is so happy to be with you all day, and will gladly accompany you on all your tasks. She does feel great connections to those she loves, and has been struggling when left home alone and can get quite upset. Her ideal home would feature someone who can offer her a lot of time to work on this, by building her confidence being alone and redirecting her anxieties to other outlets with enrichment and training. She likely wouldn't do great being alone for a full work day, so someone who works from home would be her gold star home!Ellie tends to get quite excited when she sees someone she knows, and can be jumpy trying to get your attention and closer to you. She's been learning to keep four feet on the floor, and is extremely food motivated paired with positive reinforcement and consistency. Ellie really loves squeaky toys and will happily throw them around and chase after them, putting on a circus show! She likes to stick by your side like a shadow and would love to snuggle up on the couch with her new human.Ellie would do best as the only animal in the home, and is seeking someone who is keen on continuing her training to help her become her best self. Due to her prey drive and reactivity to other dogs, its in her best interest so she can get what she really needs from her guardian. She has been good with other dogs through the fence here at the shelter, but she is quite reactive to other dogs when on-leash. She is seeking an experienced dog owner, who can help her navigate her reactivity with positive reinforcement training and patience. If you're interested in this sweet girl, send us an application! https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/  Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 37.6 Age: 2yrs 4mths 0wks
