Who could be better than Bev!?Beverly is one of the greats; with her winning personality, sweet demeanor, and not to mention her ever so squishable face. C'mon, she's pretty dang cute! Our friend Bev is a people pleaser, and her goal in life is to make you smile. Whether that be by her happy trot to greet you, her silly playtime antics, or her warm snuggles- she always knows what you want and adjusts to give you what you need. What she asks for in return, is a happy home with a routine, and of course someone to match her affection. With a great foundation, Beverly is currently working on kicking her training up a notch. She plans to master the art of leash walking, and resisting the urge to steal your snacks. Her love of snacks is great motivation for new tasks, and she is the most gentle of gals.Bev loves a good adventure, and is looking for someone to take her to see the sights. She's ready to learn, have fun, and be the best Bev she can be! Story
Meet Murphy He is a beautiful, sweet, healthy, playful dog. I have reason to invite another family to love, care for, and enjoy Murphy. I am carefully curating his next home. He is a loved dog. Well behaved, attentive, fun, fit, doesn’t chew (except sticks), loyal, is not the best with cats, loves other dogs and children. He is 8. He has lived with me for 5 years, he started his life in Mexico. He is well-adjusted, has no negative behaviours won't chew your furniture etc. Murphy will thrive in a family who are present and want a dog to join them on hikes, in the park, at home and on the couch watching movies. Murphy is healthy, vaccinated, neutered, no allergies or sensitivities, good gut health. Completely house trained, no issues or concerns. He has had no health concerns over the last 5 years. He does not shed, he does need regular grooming to keep him handsome. If you have the heart and home space that will welcome and nurture Murphy, please reach out to me.

Story
Hi! My name is Homer, and unlike the cartoon character I'm very active!! I would love a home where I can zoom through the yard, smelling all of the good things my nose can find! I would be an amazing hiking/walking buddy as I enjoy the outdoors almost as much as I enjoy spending time with my favorite people! Unfortunately, before I arrived here at the BCSPCA I was living mainly as an outdoor pup without a steady home environment to call my own. Since arriving I've shown the staff here just how much love I have to give! I know sit, shake a paw and of course, KISSES! I'm a very strong boy who has probably never walked on a leash/harness before so I have a few manners to learn in terms of not pulling, but I'm catching on more and more each day! I'm a big, silly, handsome man who can be a little nervous about strangers, I like to give out little barks but as soon as I can give your hand a sniff I warm up quickly! I love treats (no surprise, I'm a hound!) so a positive reinforcement approach to training is where I will thrive, and taking me to some training classes would benefit my bit of nervousness greatly! Any enrichment involving my nose is my favorite, even just a box or paper bag filled with straw and some treats is so fun to rip apart while searching for yummy snacks! Do you think I could fit perfectly into your family? Submit your application to adopt me through the online application, link is below! https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-comox/ Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 34.7 Age: 2yrs 1mths 1wks

Meet Maxine! This young gal came to us after having a litter of puppies, and is so ready to start her new world of love, compassion and snuggles!Maxine is such a sweet girl who wants nothing more than to be by your side, and make sure all you do is up to par! This girl is playful and curious, and would lay in your lap getting doted on and loved for the rest of her life! She is learning about not jumping up, but does adore to give you hugs and wants to be right up by your face to kiss you all over! She's very affectionate and has the most soulful eyes that look up at you with the utmost love and trust.Food is the game, and Maxine is the star player! This girl is so incredibly food motivated, and will do anything for even a sniff of a kibble. She loves puzzles and wobblers, and enjoys working her brain for her meals and treats! Maxine thrives with enrichment, and would love a home that can offer her lots of mental stimulation to keep her busy and she does get quite vocal and stressed out when she's alone. Maxine would do wonderful working with an Animal Kind Trainer on her vocalness so she and her people can feel good about leaving her at home!We are still getting to know Maxine, but have fallen right in love with this gentle lady and couldn't be more excited to find her a home of her own! Maxine seems to enjoy other canines and we would be happy to explore a home with another canine friend for her. Please fill out an application online if toy are interested and we would love to chat with you about her! Story
Say hello to Oso, our long-term resident seeking his forever home! Oso has been with us far too long now and is so deserving and loving of finding his forever person. Oso is large, loving and goofy, and has absolutely stolen the hearts of the staff who care for him. This guy doesn't know his own size, and loves to bounce and jump around his yard, throwing his toys up in the air, and tumbling around in a hilarious manner. His long limbs and floppy ears are the funniest thing to watch, and will make your heart swell with joy, and your stomach ache with laughter. Oso is hoping for a particular home and will be an amazing companion to someone who can offer him the type of environment he needs. Oso is not a fan of other canines and is looking to be the only dog in the home. He can be quite reactive to them, and is seeking an owner who understands this, and can help him associate seeing other canines in a positive way with his training process. This fella is 110 pounds, meaning he is quite strong and will pull when he sees other dogs and can be hard to redirect away from them. He is looking for an owner who can help guide him during these moments with positive reinforcement and show him how to redirect his energy in a positive way. A home without dogs directly on the other side of the fence would be best, so Oso has the chance to be comfortable in his home without feeling the need to be on guard. Although Oso does struggle with reactivity towards other dogs, he is one of the squishiest, loving boys we know. With his people, Oso bonds hard with them, and is beyond excited to see his people friends daily. He greets us with his adorable woos and kisses, and can't wait to give you your daily snuggles and love. He loves to play with his toys and lean up against you soaking in the attention and getting his scratches. Oso loves car rides and adventures where he can sniff away and would really enjoy an active owner who can keep his brain busy, and offer him lots of mental enrichment! If youd like to know more about Oso, please give us at call at 250-339-7722! We love this fella and cant wait for his person to come along, and are more than happy to chat in more detail about him!
