Story
Meet Miami,This young, energetic girl came to us only because her family were not in a position to give her the exercise that a Husky wants and definitely needs. She is now at the BC SPCA Kelowna looking for an active family who enjoys an adventurous lifestyle. It would likely take Miami no time to learn how to go on those running excursions and you'd be competing with her to see who could keep up a fast pace the longest. She is a bit shy at first greeting, but she comes around quickly. Miami enjoys her 'stuffies' and doing the zoomies around the backyard. If you have a resident dog who would like Miami for a furever canine buddy, we recommend you bring them to be part of the Meet & Greet process. We do believe Miami would love the companionship and playtime with a canine friend. You may just have found your new running, adventure partner and she's here waiting for you. Please complete an online Dog Pre-Adoption Questionnaire at: https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/The Centre is open Tuesday - Saturday Noon to 4 pm (closed on Stat Holidays) Primary Color: Grey Secondary Color: White Weight: 21.2 Age: 1yrs 7mths 3wks

Story
Meet Penelope,This very sweet girl came to the BC SPCA Kelowna Centre to find her a new and loving home - yours? We do not know anything of her background, but since her arrival, we have found her to be a joyful gal who loves snuggles. She does get a bit scared at loud, random noises such as those orchard cannons and fireworks. Penelope is done with having puppies and has been spay and ready for someone to love her and only her - not her puppies. We are confident that once you meet Penelope and get a hug from her, you will make that adoption decision on the spot. Please consider giving this huggable pitty the home and love she so richly deserves. If she is the canine companion you've been waiting for, please complete an online Dog Pre-Adoption Questionnaire:https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/The Centre is open Tuesday to Saturday Noon - 4 pm (except for Stat Holidays). Story
Meet Batman! This handsome fellow was found wandering, and sadly, no owner came to claim him. Batman is a bit fearful but very calm and quiet, making him a gentle companion. At around 8 years old, he isn't yet leash-trained, but his foster is diligently working on that. He clearly loves being held, showing signs of having been a beloved lap dog in his past. Sweet and affectionate, Batman adores cuddles and is ready for his forever home! He will be a foster-to-adopt as he will be having his dental and neuter surgeries in the middle of October and we want him fully recovered before making that adoption final. If you are interested in this sweet little senior man, please submit an online adoption questionnaire athttps://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/We will be giving preference to local applicants as he has to go back and forth to local vet appointments and that would be the responsibility of the foster. The Centre is open Tuesday - Saturday Noon to 4 pm (except for Stat Holidays) Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 5.5 Age: 8yrs 0mths 2wks

Story
Meet MorticiaThis sweet and spirited pup was found roaming the streets of Kelowna. While we don't know much about her past, it's clear she's been trained before-she's already mastered "sit" and "shake." Morticia is full of energy and, despite her previous training, could benefit from a bit of leash work and possibly some potty refreshers. She absolutely adores people and has a playful, affectionate nature. She seems to get along well with other dogs and would likely be wonderful with children, though her high energy could accidentally knock over the little ones. We've found out that she does enjoy swimming. If you'd like to meet Morticia, please fill out our online Pre-Adoption Questionnaire:https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/The Centre is open Tuesday through Saturday Noon - 4 pm (except for Stat Holidays) Primary Color: Black Weight: 30.6 Age: 1yrs 0mths 4wks

Story
Meet PoppyThis sweet dog came to the BC SPCA Kelowna when her owner moved and left her behind with a roommate who was unable to have another dog. She is a sweet, playful and active gal. Poppy can be a little nervous at first meeting but we know she will quickly come around once she knows you're her friend. Once you've made friends with Poppy, she is just the biggest cuddle-bug. She has lived with another dog and enjoys playtime with visiting canine friends. This canine will quickly win your heart once she comes and lays her head on your lap. If you believe Poppy would fit into your life and home, please give her the chance to show her appreciation with her abundance of love and loyalty. She will be a foster-to-adopt because she is awaiting her 11 Oct spay surgery and subsequent recovery. If Poppy is the canine companion you've been waiting for, please complete an online Dog Pre-Adoption Questionnaire:https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/The Centre is open Tuesday to Saturday Noon - 4 pm (except for Stat Holidays). Story
Meet Gideon, affectionately known as Gee, Giddy, or Snoozer – a charming 11-year-old Chihuahua weighing in at a dainty 7 pounds. This little guy marches to the beat of his own drum, with a personality as unique as his nicknames. Gideon couldn't care less about other dogs; he's perfectly content in his own world. He's been a gem around pre-teens, showing his gentle side with ease. When it comes to walks, he's a dream – no pulling on the leash here! He happily trots beside you, taking in the sights and sounds of the neighborhood. At bedtime, Gideon is a model pup – he settles into his crate without a fuss and sleeps soundly through the night. He's even known to retreat to his crate during the day for some quiet time. But here's the kicker: Gideon has a funny little quirk about preferring to do his business on the road or cement instead of the grass. Hey, everyone has their preferences, right? Despite his years of experience, Gideon is still warming up to the idea of living in a house. He's a low-key little dude who appreciates a calm environment where he can take things at his own pace. With a bit of patience and understanding, Gideon is sure to blossom into the perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal and loving lapdog.
