Story
Meet Monroe, a stunning 5-year-old Great Dane has endured more than her fair share of hardship, but you’d never guess it by the gentle way she looks at you. Monroe was rescued from a puppy mill, where she spent her early years in confinement, used for breeding without ever knowing the love, comfort, or freedom every dog deserves. Now safe in our care, Monroe is slowly discovering what it means to be a cherished companion. Despite her past, Monroe has a truly tender soul. She’s a calm, observant girl who approaches the world with quiet curiosity and growing confidence. While initially shy in new environments, Monroe warms up beautifully with time and patience. Once she trusts you, she becomes incredibly affectionate—leaning in for soft pets, resting her head in your lap, and quietly following you from room to room just to be close. She gets along well with other respectful dogs and would do best in a calm home with adopters who can offer her the stability and compassion she needs to continue healing. She’s learning how to enjoy the simple joys of life—soft beds, gentle hands, slow walks, and peaceful afternoons. We believe Monroe has never lived in a true home before, so she’s still getting the hang of house manners and daily routines, but she’s making wonderful progress. This regal girl has so much love to give. All she needs is a kind, patient family who will show her the life she’s always deserved. If you’re ready to open your heart to a survivor who’s ready to bloom, Monroe is waiting to meet you!

Meet Bertha & Her Beautiful Litter of 9! Bertha and her pups were rescued from a shelter in Alabama, and it was here in our care that her sweet babies were born. Safe, loved, and nurtured from day one, these pups have grown into happy, healthy little bundles of joy. They’ve received full medical care, plenty of affection, and are busy learning all their important puppy skills. Now, they’re ready to start their own adventures in loving furever homes. As for Bertha, this devoted mama has given her all to raising her puppies. Now that her little ones are ready to spread their wings, it’s time for Bertha to begin her own journey. She’s looking for a family who will give her the same love and care she’s shown her pups—a place where she can finally just be Bertha, enjoying walks, snuggles, and the good life she deserves.

Story
Hi I’m Rocky! And I definitely had a rocky start I was found alone and scared out in the Everglades. I was skin and bones, and because of that, I'm still learning that humans are wonderful, not scary. It takes me a minute to warm up, but I promise it's worth the wait! With a gentle hand, patience, and a pocket full of treats, I quickly show my loving side. I adore playing with other dogs; they help me feel safe and happy, so a canine sibling in my new home would be amazing for showing me the ropes. My favorite thing in the world? Swimming! I love to splash and play. I'm eager to find a family who will show me what true love is and let me show them how much love I have to give back. Ready to be my hero?

Story
These 29 dogs were rescued by Big Dog Ranch from another rescue in North Alabama after the owner was hospitalized, leaving the dogs in urgent need of help. When our team arrived and saw the conditions they were living in, we knew we had to act immediately. With a dedicated group of staff and volunteers, it took nearly seven hours to safely catch and secure each dog. Many were scared, yet incredibly sweet and innocent—confused about what was happening but never aggressive, just unsure and overwhelmed. Now, at Big Dog Ranch, they are finally safe. They are receiving much-needed medical care, nutritious meals, and plenty of love and patience. Some are learning how to walk on a leash for the very first time, while others are slowly learning to trust our K9 care staff—discovering that gentle pets, kind voices, and warm hugs can be a good thing. In time, these amazing dogs will be ready to begin the next chapter of their lives in forever homes, where they can give back the love and joy they have been waiting so long to share. Do you have a spot in your heart for the forgotten? 🐾💛
