Story
This is a very hard decision for our family. Daisy's owner, my amazing, 70-year old Mom is battling stage 4 metastatic breast cancer & can no longer care for Daisy the way she deserves. Daisy was listed as a pit bull mix when adopted but looks 99% pit bull. She weighs about 55 lbs, is spayed, has never been bred, up-to-date on all shots & on Simpirica Trio. She was adopted from Charlotte Mecklenburg, Animal Care & Control in 2021. Daisy is a total nut! She thinks she is a human baby, not a dog. She loves attention, will sit and "have conversations" w/you & believes YOUR favorite chair is actually hers. She loves carrots, apples, ice in her water and having room to run & play. Daisy needs to be the only pet in your home. We are unsure how she does with young children, so adults or older children would be best. Our goal is to find Daisy a loving forever home where she can continue being the spoiled, silly, loving girl she is. Please share-her perfect person is out there!

🐾 Meet Darla! 💕Darla is an energetic, fun-loving girl with a huge personality and an even bigger heart! At just over 2 years old and 49.7 pounds, she’s playful, smart, eager to learn, and always ready for some attention—especially belly rubs! 🥰Darla loves toys, treats, and every second she gets to spend outside in the yard. She’s been working hard on her training and is already showing us just how smart she is!🐾 Knows sit and lay down🐾 Working on her stay command🐾 Working on her leash manners🐾 Does awesome with tactile handling—she’s completely unfazed by having her ears, paws, and tail touched🐾 Very treat-motivated and learning quickly🐾 And did we mention she LOVES belly rubs? ❤️✨ Spayed✨ Microchipped✨ Heartworm negativeDarla has been waiting over 180 days for someone to see all the potential we see in her. She has plenty of energy and would thrive with a family willing to give her the exercise, structure, patience, and continued training she needs. Some of you may remember Darla by her former name, Dumbo. That name was chosen through our Gala naming fundraiser shortly after she arrived at the shelter—but as we got to know her, we realized it just didn’t fit her personality. This girl is no dummy! 😂 She’s smart, attentive, and picking up new commands quickly, so Darla felt much more like her. 💕She isn’t looking for a perfect home—just someone willing to invest a little time in her, love her, and give her the chance to become the incredible companion we know she can be.After 180+ days of waiting, could Darla finally be the girl you choose? 🐾❤️
