Story
Rudy (a.k.a. "Little Man") is a healthy 2-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback Mix. He is neutered, housetrained, and has been vetted. He is full of personality! He is sweet, extremely cuddly, doesn’t like to be alone, and loves toys! He does know commands such as sit, off, laydown, stop, and heel. He is crate trained but prefers to be out with you and sleep with you. Rudy was abandoned by his previous owners, so he does have some abandonment/ anxiety issues when left alone (his foster parents said this has improved the longer he has been living with them). He is mischievous (as all puppies can be at two), but not house or shoe destructive; however, don't turn your back to your food for too long! Rudy could benefit from some behavioral training, specifically, how to greet visitors when entering the house and leash aggression issues with both bicycles and other dogs walking with their owners. Outside of those two items, he walks well on a leash. He is food-motivated and smart, so he will train quickly with consistency and the right approach. He is best suited for experienced dog owners or someone who will invest their time in retraining him. There is something truly special about him, and I would love to see him find his new forever home that will treat him like the prince he knows he is! To learn more about Rudy or the schedule a meet-n-greet, please contact Kimberly Pantke at 631-988-7845 or via email at kimberlypantke@yahoo.com. Needs special attention,
Story
Cairo is a 4-year-old Siberian Husky who is looking for a loving home. We are assisting Blind Dog Rescue Alliance with finding Cairo a home. Cairo's owner got him as a puppy when his litter was going to be taken to a shelter. Unfortunately, due to changing work, school, housing, and living circumstances his owner is no longer able to care for Cairo. Cairo is an outdoor dog who needs a home that has a fenced-in yard. He's not housebroken, or leash trained. However, he has learned commands for Sit, Stay, Down, and High-Five (Paw)! Cairo is an outgoing pup who is good with men, women, and teenagers. He's also good with other male dogs and is currently living with a Chihuahua. Cairo has not been around cats or children. Cairo is not aggressive and has no bite history. He has not shown any possessiveness with treats, toys, or food. He adapts well and quickly to new situations and surroundings. When Cairo was a year and a half old, he began having problems with his eyes. He has been to a veterinary ophthalmologist who diagnosed him with a few eye-related conditions which are now under control. He is currently only taking Cyclosporine. Cairo is currently located in Miami, Florida. If you are interested in learning more about Cairo, PLEASE CONTACT Cindy of Blind Dog Rescue Alliance via email at cindypuppiesndogs@gmail.com or OS@BlindDogRescue.org. DISCLAIMER: Happy Tails Dog Rescue is helping Blind Dog Rescue Alliance rehome Cairo by assisting in the marketing of Cairo but has otherwise not had any involvement. Story
Charlie Ferus is a handsome guy who was scheduled to be put down at an Orlando shelter due to fear when Sarah Leddick decided to save him from such a sad fate. He is a tall Aussiedoodle weighing in at 55 lbs. and approximately 2 years old. He is neutered, vaccinated, chipped and has gained weight since he arrived at the shelter emaciated! He is now healthy, loving, filled out, and rambunctious! He loves to play with other dogs, and loves to go for walks, especially to the dog park. He is a little leery of strangers so a person with rescue experience with their own home and a fenced in yard would be the best fit. Lots of people coming and going at his home would not be advised for now. He is a runner so would need to have a secure front door since he thinks it's funny to race out the door to go for a run. He is non-reactive to cats, so could tolerate cats in the home. Mature people working from home would be ideal!! He is currently in Miami but could be transported to other Florida counties. For more information or to schedule a meet-n-greet, please contact Sarah Leddick at (305) 450-2033 or via email at sarahleddick@gmail.com.
