I originally came from a situation where I was living with too many dogs and never really had a chance to be loved or cared for properly. I am learning to love people and I especially love treats, I am a true hound, I like to smell everything and I want to eat lots. I have a big heart and if you can invest some time in getting to know me and giving me a chance to learn from you and love you I promise to be your loyal and true forever partner. I love going on walks and running around with my other dog friends. I will thrive in a calm home with no cats or very young children. I need outdoor space to run and play so apartment life is not for me. Before considering adding me to your life, make sure you have the appropriate amount of time, space, and resources available to care for me for my lifetime. I can't wait to meet my forever family! I am currently taking daily medication for my thyroid and it is likely that I will be on medication for my whole life. My doctor here at CAC would like me to come back for retesting to make sure my meds are working properly after adoption.

Xena is a loving shepard who has been apart of our family since she's been a puppy. We have had her for roughly 6-8 years. As my parents have got older, they are unable to properly care for her. She is a loving dog, and we have never had any behavioral issues. She does great around children, and loves to be by whoever she is with. She has been around other dogs she's grown up with, however, it is unknown as to whether or not she would get along with new dogs. No health issues that we are aware of, but will more than likely need updated shots. She would be perfect for someone who already doesn't have any other animals and who is willing to take the time to properly exercise her and give her attention. She is currently living in 15 acres, and like any dog, needs room to run or to be taken out. She would be a great family dog, as she is used to being around little kids and larger groups of people!
