We got Taco from southern oaks labs in IL. Good working line. He is smart and hyper and needs a home that is active where he can run and be active. He is 4 years old going to be 5 this year in November. When we first got him I had my own business and worked from home. Last year my business closed and I went back to work, he is in his crate 12+ hours a day and it's not fair to him.

Story
Floyd lived his first four years in a kennel too small for him, barely ever getting out of it. He's learning how to be loved in his foster home, and has come such a long way. He's a Lab and Mastiff mix who is almost 5 years old now. There's still a road ahead of dedication and training that he'll need, so we're searching for the right family that will be able to give him just that kind of love. Floyd is treat motivated, so he's responsive to training; but, does need to eat and drink separate from others, or needs to be the only pet in the home. He LOVES to play and run, and is a super toy chewer dog! His foster family is slowly getting to cuddle with him. It's all new to him so patience, understanding and love is the key to this fellow's heart. As are all EARS dogs, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and currently receiving monthly prevention for flea/tick and heartworm. If you're the right family for Floyd, please submit an adoption application via our website, www.effinghamanimalrescue.com.

Story
Copper, a 9-yr old heeler mix, is looking for a new forever home. He knows basic commands like sit and shake, and is still playful but loves to lay on the couch and nap with you too. Copper gets along with other dogs, and doesn’t mind cats inside but is more curious about them outside. We think a home with older children who have dog experience would be best, as he's getting a little feisty in his old age. Copper has developed a bit of loud noise anxiety, and his foster family is working through it with him. He's an awesome dog looking for a place to chill. As are all EARS dogs, he is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm tested and on monthly preventatives for heartworm and flea/tick.If you'd like add Copper to your family, please submit an adoption application via our website, www.effinghamanimalrescue.com.

Frisco

American Pit Bull Terrier

Male, 2 yrs 5 mos
EFFINGHAM, IL
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)

Not good with cats, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Frisco is a sweet and energetic goofball! He is full of kisses and wants nothing more than to roll around and play! His most favorite thing is the world are ball toys! He is a super chewer, and can't enough of chasing a ball around the yard. He is about a year and half old and we believe he was once potty trained in his former home. Frisco does not like cats, but we are told he does ok with other dogs. A meet a greet with potential dog siblings is required just to make sure. He does seem to like female dogs more so than male dogs. Given his big head, muscles, and propensity to throw his weight around all willy nilly, we suggest that if you have children in your life that they be older kids (7+) that don't mind getting knocked down every now and again as he plays. A little consistency and daily play time will go a long way with this sweet boy. He loves everyone, but he seems to be especially fond of men. He LOVES car rides! He would make a great travel companion. If intereseted in meeting Frisco please fill out our adoption application that can be found on our website at effinghamcountyhumanesociety.orgHis adoption fee is $200 and this includes his neuter, vaccinations, microchip, monthly flea/tick prevention and heartworm prevention.

Story
Izzy is a stocky little girl who found her self in the shelter. She would love a home with an active family to give her plenty of exercise and love. She is a heeler mix and would LOVE to work. If not given a job, she at least needs daily exercise. Since she has a tendency to want to herd things, a home without young children would be best. She would be great for agility! She is very smart, too smart for her own good! And is VERY treat motivated. She already knows some basic commands, and with some patience and consistency she could learn so much more!So does have a calm and loving side. That is the pittie in her! She is a total lovebug when she has gotten all her energy out. If interested, please fill out an application on our website at Effinghamcountyhumanesociety.org Her adoption fee is $200 and this includes her spay, vaccinations, dewormer, negative heartworm test, heartworm/flea/tick prevention, and microchip
