Story
Luna is a beautiful 5-year-old German Shepherd/Husky mix with one blue eye and one brown eye. She is gentle, loyal, quiet, and truly does not have a mean bone in her body. She is slow to trust men and needs a patient, calm, predictable home with fewer people and preferably someone home often.Luna has environmental and food allergies. Her environmental allergies are managed with customized weekly injections given at home and she eats a specific brand of dog food to fit her allergens. She knows the following commands: sit, off, bed, kennel, come, house, shake and car ride/load up, to name a few. She's a quick learner. She will bring her remaining food, sealed storage-mite-resistant container, an air purifier, treatment supplies, veterinary records, and her emotional support stuffed dragon aka "her nuk". Finding the right fit is most important, and applicants must be prepared to continue her allergy care and give her time to feel safe and herself.

Story
Bo is a bouncy boy who loves to play with other dogs and accompany you on every adventure. Some noises and objects are a novelty to Bo, and he may take some time to adjust to these things in an adoptive home. Due to the circumstances that brought Bo to us, he may take some time to settle into an adoptive home. He's looking for a patient adopter to give him the time and space he needs to feel comfortable!

**Lord Harlod is adoptable by appointment only. If you're interested in scheduling a meet and greet, please email hsnwiastaff@gmail.com** Harlod is an active and cuddly boy who loves to stay busy and would do best with an adult home that can continue to guide him. Harlod is very particular about his food and treats, he prefers complete ownership with no interuptions. He is learning commands like “leave it” for instances when he has picked up non-safe food items. Harlod enjoys active dog friends outside of his home, but prefers to be your one and ony in the home! He has done well with kennel and house training. Please keep in mind that most adoptive pets go through a period of adjustment post adoption.

Please be aware that adopted animals can go through a period of adjusment when entering a new home or environment! Ace does well with kids, but has no experience with cats! Ace struggles being off leash in unfenced areas and tends to be a bit underfoot on short leash walks. Management strategies can be discussed with HSNWIA staff!

Deacon

American Pit Bull Terrier

Male, 3 yrs 11 mos
Milford, IA
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Good with dogs, Good with cats, Needs special attention, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Deacon is bilateraly deaf, meaning he can't hear out of either ear. He has a strong sense of smell to help him identify his human friends and relies on visual cues for the skills he knows. Loves to cuddle on the couch with his people! Once he's had his nightly zoomies, he's ready to snuggle up for bedtime! May enjoy dog friends in his adoptive home if they are tolerant of his pushy personality. Deacon may also prefer his dog friends to not live with him. Ask us about scheduling a dog intro if you have a very tolerant resident dog! Deacon struggles staying in a crate when home alone. He does better when given his own room with an open crate so he has options while his people are away!
