DASHER AND HIS BEST FRIENDS PLAN TO BE AT A MEET AND GREET SUNDAY DECEMBER 7 12:30 -2:30 AT PET EVOLUTION ON 1074 GRAND IN ST. PAUL. COME AND CUDDLE AND MAYBE GO HOME WITH A FRIEND FOR LIFE. Dasher and his siblings were born in an abandoned trailer in a very remote rural area. The trailer was strewn with trash and debris, the floor was mostly rotted out and it seemed ready to collapse at any minute. Someone noticed a nursing mom ‘hunting’ (pictured) for food and followed her to the trailer and discovered the puppies. Mom was essentially feral and could not be caught. The pups were about 7 weeks old so the Good Samaritan contacted a PUP volunteer who spent hours finding and catching the puppies. Initially they were very fearful but soon decided a warm bed and a full food bowl were pretty nice. They adapted well to their foster home and people, now loving playing, cuddling with their foster mom and friends. We did DNA testing on one little boy from the litter, but the results won’t be in until mid December. Dogs from the area who have DNA testing often have 20 or more breeds and nearly always have some shepherd, husky, cattle dog, and even the largest pooches have a bit of Chihuahua. We strongly suspect Dasher has some shepherd in the genetic mix. It is best guess because we don’t have a clue who daddy is and are only guessing at birth date, but we believe that puppy will be in the lower end of large greed or upper end of mid-size when full grown. He is the largest of the litter and weighed 9.9# at his vet appointment on 12-3. The vet believes pup is 8-9 weeks old now. The early months are when puppy learns the social skills needed to be a skilled dog in dealing with other dogs and a good citizen in the human world. Adopters should be committed to getting puppy into lots of new and different human social situations, hearing vacuums, trucks, and rattling garbage cans, meeting people who are clapping, laughing, with hats, tools, bikes and skate boards. AND puppy needs many opportunities to meet and greet dogs of all shapes, sizes and dispositions. Just sharing a home with another dog is not as much doggie socializing as puppy needs. If good canine social skills are not learned and maintained during these early months, it will be very difficult to ever master them. Puppy play dates, trips to the pet store, puppy socialization classes and later, obedience classes are particularly important. If all this doggie time and involvement seems like a good idea, you are up for a puppy! As always, a tired dog is a good dog. Puppy has been vet checked, is vaccinated and de-wormed. She will need two additional puppy vaccinations plus rabies at the adopter’s expense. We do place puppies outside the metro area if a firm plan for the alter surgery is in place; we do not ship. Her required alter surgery is covered by the adoption fee if it is done at 6 months at the PUP clinic. We require that she be altered at 6 months. If you are at least 21 years old and everyone in your household is on board with adopting a puppy, CALL 651-645-4370 between 7:00 am and 9:30 pm and we will return your call within 24 hours. We are pretty slow at responding to e-mail. Renters must provide proof that you are allowed to have a puppy. If you currently have a companion dog or cat please be prepared to provide a vet reference prior to adoption if requested. Video link https://youtube.com/shorts/A5_43KSJxyE Filename

Story
Boom is a 7-year-old, 48# Border Collie with a heart full of love. He’s affectionate, playful, and always ready to brighten your day with his happy smile. He's eager to please his people, whether that means cuddling on the couch, being out and about to see new things, or just being a 4-legged best friend. Boom's favorite things: -Getting love and affirmation from his people -Exploring the world on daily walks -Relaxing in his crate (his safe space!) Boom is new to living inside a house. He tries hard to be brave and make his family proud. He's looking for a patient, gentle family to help him develop into his true self. He didn't get to go places and see new things in his prior life, and he's eager to make up for lost time. If Boom had a theme song, it would be “Come Fly With Me” by Frank Sinatra. He’s ready to start a whole new life! Boom will thrive in a moderately active home that understands herding breeds. When he wants attention, he may nip at clothing -his family will need to redirect this behavior. Nature walks through the woods are helping him learn about walking on leash. He can live with older kids (youngsters are too busy for him). He doesn’t need a canine sibling, but he’d be fine sharing space with another friendly dog. He is successfully living with kitties in his foster home. Each day, Boom gets closer to the dog that lives in his beautiful, courageous and loving heart. He can't wait to be someone's loyal, affectionate companion! Boom is being fostered in Clear Lake, MN (near St. Cloud). As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul. Boom's adoption fee is $450 + MN sales tax. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. Upon adoption, all of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

BLIZZARD AND HIS BEST FRIENDS PLAN TO BE AT A MEET AND GREET SUNDAY DECEMBER 7 12:30 -2:30 AT PET EVOLUTION ON 1074 GRAND IN ST. PAUL. COME AND CUDDLE AND MAYBE GO HOME WITH A FRIEND FOR LIFE. Blizzard and his siblings were surrendered to PUP because the owner, who lived in a remote area, could not afford the pups and felt she could not find suitable adopters. The mommy dog is a much loved 30# ‘low rider’ with short legs (pictured). A partner organization agreed to pay for her to be spayed if PUP found homes for the puppies. The owner did a good job of socializing the pups and they arrived in good health. They are well socialized, playful and are enjoying the good life. Blizzard looks like he is going to be a shortie like his mommy and we expect he will be a mid-sized dog when he is full grown. We did DNA testing on one little boy from the litter, but the results won’t be in until mid December. Dogs from the area who have DNA testing often have 20 or more breeds and nearly always have some shepherd, husky, cattle dog, and even the largest pooches have a bit of Chihuahua. We strongly suspect Blizzard has some Doxi and maybe some cattle dog in this mix. (Rumor has it that there is a male cattle dog on a neighboring ranch.) The early months are when puppy learns the social skills needed to be a skilled dog in dealing with other dogs and a good citizen in the human world. Adopters should be committed to getting puppy into lots of new and different human social situations, hearing vacuums, trucks, and rattling garbage cans, meeting people who are clapping, laughing, with hats, tools, bikes and skate boards.
