Story
We need to rehome our three year old dog because we have a new baby with a lot of medical needs. We are not able to give her the time she needs to work with her and play with her. She is very high energy, eager to please, and wants to love on you. She is formally trained (certificate will accompany her upon adoption), knows commands like 'place, sit, stay, wait, etc.' She knows to sit before going through a doorway and a few other things. She needs a lot of exercise and is very high energy, we just don't have the time to dedicate to her like she deserves, nor will we for the foreseeable future. She has run through the baby's oxygen line several times, even trying to block it off, and is causing injury to him, so we need to find her a new home. She is good with dogs, cats, and the baby, loves being a lap dog and is crate trained. Crate, bed, toys, vet records will all go with her. It isn't what we wanted, but we didn't anticipate the current situation.

Story
**WE CAN ONLY ACCEPT APPLICATIONS WITHIN A 1 HOUR RADIUS OF FORT BRAGG** Vala's Story: Vala came to our rescue in July of 2022 with a laundry list of medical problems. Upon our intake exam, our vet found that Vala was heartworm positive with a grade two heart murmur, malnourished, she was infected with demodex mange, she had a yeast infection all over her body, she had conjunctivitis in both of her eyes, a severe ear infection in both ears, was super infested with fleas, had several growths all over her body, and was pregnant with FIFTEEN puppies. Vala gave birth three days after her intake. She was in labor for well over 24 hours and we ended up rushing her to the emergency room after a few alarming signs and such a long labor. Luckily, Vala was given the green light to go home after an exam and some imaging, but unfortunately due to the condition that we received her in, she lost nine of those babies. After diligent round-the-clock care towards mom and babies we were able to bottle feed the remaining puppies for the next two weeks until Vala was able to put on enough weight and produce enough milk to be able to nurse them on her own. We swung into action to get her weight up for her to be able to nurse her own babies. This once outdoor dog was eating the most gourmet meals in the whole house! Rice, eggs, boiled chicken, beef liver, doggie soup, cottage cheese, you name it! We gave Vala every food and supplement that our vet recommended. Despite Vala's challenges upon her arrival, she is the sweetest and most loving girl. She would be the most happy doing nothing more than snuggling up on the couch and watching movies on a rainy day. Vala loves to sunbathe on the back porch, snuggle on the couch, sleep on her doggie cot, and sunbathe in the sunny spots in the house. Vala did come to us as heartworm positive, however, she has already gone through treatment and her medical initial medical issues have been treated. Due to the severity of her skin infections, not all of her hair has regrown. We believe that her chest area has permanent hair lost. We still think she's beautiful just the way she is.❤️ Although we're not totally sure how old Vala is, we estimate somewhere around 8- 10 years old. Vala looks to be some sort of "low rider" bully mix, but some of her chonky leg folds remind me of an English Bulldog. Everyone who has ever met Vala has fallen in love, we hope you will too! Vala loves snuggling on the couch, and living the comfy life. She enjoys sunbathing, naps and snacks the most. She is a gentle girl who is ready for retirement with a family who will love her.

Story
This is Lou, the six (ish) month old Black Labrador/Shepherd mix. He has had a rough start to his short life here on Earth. He was dumped on the side of a busy highway, along with a littermate a few months ago. The littermate was later hit and killed by a car, and he had been in the same spot since. We have been trying to catch him for three months now and he was finally caught on 4 February 2024. He is a very sweet boy and we have been calling him "Lou" and "Mr. Bubs". He has surprised me so much in the short time I have had him. Lou has not had any accidents in the house, loves cuddles and scritches, and is so gentle with treats. Lou loves kids and loves female dogs. He would do excellent as the only dog, or a buddy to a female dog. If I didn't already have four dogs myself, I would keep him in a heartbeat. He really deserves a loving and warm home, he has definitely earned it. Please reach out if you are interested in adopting Lou. I will transport him anywhere.
