Story
About Hozier:Hozier is a 7-year-old boxer cross and a total lover boy, complete with all the goofy charm and expressive personality the breed is known for. He’s affectionate, playful, and happiest when he’s part of the family. In his foster home, he’s been wonderful with the child he spends time with and has even done well living alongside a cat. Hozier enjoys his toys, likes to stay close to his people, and brings that classic boxer mix of silliness and sweetness wherever he goes.Ideal Home:Hozier would do well in a family home where he can be included in daily life and activities. He’s a social, people-oriented dog who enjoys companionship and routine. He can be selective about other dogs, so slow, thoughtful introductions or a home where he’s the only dog may be the best fit.Training and Skills:Hozier is house trained and has great manners in the home. He’s not destructive and settles in nicely. He rides well in the car, calmly sitting or lying down in the back. He enjoys walks and does well on leash. He’s also a big foodie, so he uses a slow feeder at mealtimes.Favourites:• His toys• Walks with his people• Car rides• Meal time • Hanging out with his foster familyDislikes:• Can be picky about dogs• Waiting for dinnerHow to Adopt:If you’re interested in adopting, please visit us at 107 McLaughlin Road, Lindsay, Tuesday to Sunday 11 am–6 pm, contact us by email info@hskl.ca or phone at 705-878-4618. Story
About Karma:Karma is a fun-loving girl who enjoys being close to her people, carrying her toys around, and heading out for walks. She has nice house manners and already knows her name, sit, and lay down—especially when treats are involved. Karma is a medium-energy dog with a soft, affectionate nature and a sharp mind. She’s the kind of dog who benefits from clear expectations and consistent guidance, and she responds well to calm direction and redirection.Ideal Home:Karma would do best as the only dog in the home so she can enjoy her space and form a strong bond with her people. A home without young children would suit her best. She would thrive with someone patient who can provide structure, routine, and ongoing training to help her settle into household life.Training and Skills:Karma knows her name, sit, and lay down, and she’s very food-motivated. She walks nicely on leash, follows light leash pressure, and is quick to learn. She communicates clearly when she’s uncomfortable and does well with calm, gentle handling. Favourites:• Walks with her people• Toys she can carry around• Treat time• A soft, comfy bedDislikes:• Other dogs•Nail TrimsHow to Adopt:If you’re interested in adopting, please visit us at 107 McLaughlin Road, Lindsay, Tuesday to Sunday 11 am–6 pm, contact us by email info@hskl.ca or phone at 705-878-4618. Story
About Frizz:Frizz is an almost two-year-old Great Pyrenees mix with a gentle heart and a thoughtful nature. Great Pyrenees–type dogs are known for their loyalty, independence, and deep bond with their people, and Frizz carries those traits in a softer, more sensitive package. She can be a bit nervous around new people and unfamiliar situations, but she’s growing more comfortable every day. After recently raising three puppies and doing a wonderful job as a devoted mom, it’s finally her turn to be cared for and spoiled. Frizz enjoys toys, but more than anything, she loves being close to her people—and she’s known to give the sweetest hugs.Ideal Home:Frizz would do best in a quiet home where life moves at a calmer pace. She’s not a fan of other dogs and would be happiest as the only pet. A large property or big, securely fenced yard in a peaceful neighbourhood would suit her perfectly, as she truly enjoys being outdoors. Frizz hasn’t had much exposure to the wider world, so many things are still new to her. A patient adopter who can take things slow and help build her confidence will see her blossom.Training and Skills:Frizz knows basic commands and walks nicely on leash. She’s been working on car rides and has made great progress, becoming more comfortable with each trip. She responds best to gentle, steady guidance and positive experiences that help her feel safe.Favourites:• Being close to her people• Giving hugs• Spending time outside• Gentle play with toys• Quiet, relaxed environmentsDislikes:• Loud or busy environments• Sudden changes or overwhelming situationsHow to Adopt:If you’re interested in adopting, please visit us at 107 McLaughlin Road, Lindsay, Tuesday to Sunday 11 am–6 pm, contact us by email info@hskl.ca or phone at 705-878-4618.
