Story
Stella is a 1-and-a-half-year-old ball of energy who's ready to find her forever home! She's a bright, social, and affectionate girl who loves to be part of the action. Whether it's going for a walk, playing with toys, or learning new tricks, Stella approaches everything with enthusiasm and a big heart. Her eagerness to please makes her a great candidate for continued training and bonding with her new family.Stella is very interested in other dogs and would likely enjoy having a larger canine friend to play with. However, she will require a meet-and-greet to ensure a good fit with any potential dog siblings. She's also good with kids and has the potential to do well with cats given proper, slow introductions.Stella doesn't love being left alone for long periods, so she would thrive in a home where her people are around often. Stella may also do well at a doggy daycare during those periods of time where she may have to be alone. Because of her high energy level, she will do best in an active household that can give her plenty of exercise, structure, and affection. She's a loving, outgoing companion who's sure to bring joy and laughter wherever she goes. If you're looking for a fun and loyal dog who's always up for an adventure, Stella might be the perfect match for you!Stella is fully vaccinated, spayed, house-trained, and ready to go home! Story
Please say hello to Mr. Nash! Nash is an approx. 6-year-old mixed breed boy who came to us from Moose Factory. This handsome boy is as sweet as he is striking, super cuddly, affectionate, and happiest when hes soaking up love from his people. Nash has made wonderful progress with his house training and continues to improve each day. Hes crate trained (especially if there are treats involved!) and settles in nicely at night. On leash, hes enthusiastic and may pull when excited to see other dogs or animals (squirrels!), but with continued guidance hell keep getting better. He also rides calmly in the car and is a gentleman at the vet. Because Nash can be protective of treats and toys around other dogs, hes best suited as the only dog in the household. He has also shown some guarding behaviors with children when high-value items are involved, so hell thrive in a home without kids or with older, dog-savvy children. Nash hasnt been tested with cats, though he did show a little too much interest in them during a vet visit, so a cat-free home is recommended. Nash will thrive in a home where he can be the center of attention as the only dog, with no cats or small animals. Hell do best with adults or older, dog-savvy kids who understand the need to give him space around high-value items. What Nash really needs is a family committed to continuing his training and helping him feel secure. With consistency and love, hes sure to blossom into the loyal, affectionate companion hes meant to be. His foster family describes Nash as a cuddly, special boy who cant get enough of belly rubs and neck scratches. He adores his people and happily soaks up every bit of attention he can get. Nash spends much of his day lounging outdoors and is always up for a walk or an adventure. With his affectionate personality and love for the outdoors, Nash is sure to bring warmth, joy, and companionship to the right home. Story
Crocus is a 7-year-old Shih-Tzu and a recent release from a puppy mill, now experiencing her very first taste of a life filled with patience, safety, and quiet kindness. She is a tender little soul who has survived years of neglect, and she is learning, at her own pace, that the world is not as frightening as it once seemed. Despite her difficult past, Crocus is slowly coming out of her shell and showing her gentle personality. She gets along beautifully with other small dogs, and she truly thrives when she has a calm canine companion to learn from. Their presence helps her feel safe, and she watches them closely as she figures out how to navigate this new world. With people, she shows small but meaningful signs of trust: following her foster into rooms, seeking treats, enjoying gentle conversation, and even allowing her foster to carefully trim her face after weeks of building confidence. These moments may seem small, but for Crocus, they are huge steps forward and proof of her attachment to her fosters. Because of her history, Crocus is extremely fearful of people and does not tolerate petting or physical handling at this stage of her healing. When she feels cornered or overwhelmed, she may use her teeth to defend herself, not out of meanness or aggression, but out of genuine fear. However, with slow and predictable routines, she continues to make progress. She can be gently and calmly corralled into a crate for travel, and she is steadily learning to trust the world around her. Her healing will not be fast, but it will be deeply rewarding for the right person. Crocus needs an exceptionally patient and understanding home, one that will honour her boundaries, move at her pace, and celebrate each tiny sign of progress. She will do best in an adult only home, with those that understand that she cannot be touched and her need for space. A confident dog in the home would be a tremendous comfort and guide for her. Since she does not walk on a leash yet, she will also need a secure, small outdoor area where she can safely go to the bathroom. With a compassionate adopter willing to give her time, space, and unconditional gentleness, Crocus will continue to grow and discover that she is finally safe and loved. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.mixed breed | UTD | neutered | fostered in Barrie, ON  Lazarus started this life very under-socialized - contained in a basement with his siblings and parents. Coming into rescue has been so scary for him - Laz will need an adopter who understands this and is willing to work with him through his feelings and help him with consistency, routine and training  Dog friendly &#226&#156&#133 Laz has been exposed to dogs of many sizes from 10lbs to 100lbs, and multiple personalities. He requires calm introductions but he quickly loves other dogs and loves to play. His ideal home will be one with dogs his same size or larger, no small dogs please. Cats &#226&#157&#140 He's been exposed to cats and does chase them. Older kids only &#226&#157&#140 He is not a fan of young children. When on a walk if he hears or sees them even at a distance he reacts and can be hard to redirect. He does react with fear to all humans but settles quicker to women. His foster mom is working hard on socialization  House trained he goes outside often and he goes and sits by the door when he needs to go out but he does still have some accidents  He is good on leash and loves to go for walks, but is a puller and reacts to strangers and is very interested in birds and squirrels. Crate trained &#226&#156&#133 while his foster mom works during the day Laz is crated. At night he sleeps in bed with his foster mom and other foster siblings.  Car rides &#226&#156&#133 He is improving in the car with some practice - he does require a little coaxing to go in.  Laz is a chewer so tough chew toys are a must, he also likes toys that squeak and will quickly dissect stuffies - thankfully he’s not known to ingest the stuffy guts. He loves tug of war especially if it’s with a doggy friend and chasing balls.  He has not showed any toy or food guarding and waits his turn for his treats. He will go and sit in his crate at meal time and waits till he gets the "ok" to eat. He does eat quickly and currently has a slow feeder. He is a high energy dog and loves to play. He is very smart and does learn quickly but is also a little stubborn. When its rest time he is a snuggler and likes to give kisses, attempts to be a lap dog but will settle glued to your hip.  All adopters are offered complimentary training with our certified and accredited trainer Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 7, 2025, 2:49 pm
