Story
Moose is a handsome 8-year-old HavanesePoodle mix who came into rescue as an owner surrender and is now learning what it means to feel safe, comfortable, and understood. Hes a thoughtful and sensitive older gentleman who is looking for a quiet home that will give him space and time to warm up to new people and a new environment. Moose has made wonderful progress in foster care. He knows several helpful cues including sit, down, crate, jump up, and no, and he is now walking nicely on leash. He does well with the resident dogs in his foster home and tends to be submissive and respectful around them. While car rides were overwhelming at first, Moose is slowly gaining confidence and will now settle enough to take in the view once he relaxes. At home, he loves being close to his trusted people and especially enjoys sleeping on the bed, soaking up that quiet companionship. Moose does not enjoy frequent or firm touching and can become reactive when he feels pressured, particularly in stressful situations like vet visits, where a muzzle is used to help him feel secure. With his foster, however, Moose has made big strideshe now enjoys gentle petting, seeks closeness, and shows affection on his own terms. He is nervous around loud noises and sudden movements, and as an older dog with some joint sensitivity, he benefits from calm handling and respect for his physical comfort. Moose requires a strict diet of a prescription urinary food as he has an extensive history of bladder stones. He is also on daily medication to support his urinary health and this will also need to be given for life, along with encouraging water intake and adding water to his food to ensure he's getting lots. Due to allergies, Moose also receives daily allergy medication. A 1 month supply of all of his medication and prescription diet will be included with his adoption. This sweet boy has received quite a lot of medical care since arriving with Precious Paws, including a cystotomy (to remove bladder stones) and a full dental surgery so his mouth is much happier and healthier! Mooses ideal home is a quiet, patient household with plenty of space and a predictable routine. He would do best in an adult-only household with someone who is home more than not as she does suffer from separation anxiety and is quite noisy when he's away from his person. A calm environment, gentle leadership, and people who are willing to let trust grow naturally will help Moose continue to flourish. Moose definitely requires more care than some, and he is such a sweet, gentle at heart, boy that he's totally worth it! For the right family, earning his trust and watching him relax into companionship will be profoundly rewarding. With patience, respect, and a peaceful home, Moose will be a loyal presence who shows his love in quiet, meaningful ways. Our adoption fees cover all up to date veterinary needs, including but not limited to: full veterinary examination, age appropriate vaccinations, fecal test and parasite prevention, wellness bloodwork, spay or neuter, and microchip. Story
Please say hello to Mr. Nash! Nash is an approx. 6-year-old mixed breed boy who came to us from Moose Factory. This handsome boy is as sweet as he is striking, super cuddly, affectionate, and happiest when hes soaking up love from his people. Nash has made wonderful progress with his house training and is 100% full housetrained. Hes crate trained (especially if there are treats involved!) and settles in nicely at night. On leash, hes enthusiastic and may pull when excited to see other dogs or animals (squirrels!), but with continued guidance hell keep getting better. He also rides calmly in the car and is a gentleman at the vet. Because Nash can be protective of treats and toys around other dogs, hes best suited as the only dog in the household. He has also shown some guarding behaviors with children when high-value items are involved, so hell thrive in a home without kids or with older, dog-savvy children. Nash hasnt been tested with cats, though he did show a little too much interest in them during a vet visit, so a cat-free home is recommended. Nash will thrive in a home where he can be the center of attention as the only dog, with no cats or small animals. Hell do best with adults or older, dog-savvy kids who understand the need to give him space around high-value items. What Nash really needs is a family committed to continuing his training and helping him feel secure. With consistency and love, hes sure to blossom into the loyal, affectionate companion hes meant to be. His foster family describes Nash as a cuddly, special boy who cant get enough of belly rubs and neck scratches. He adores his people and happily soaks up every bit of attention he can get. Nash spends much of his day lounging outdoors and is always up for a walk or an adventure. With his affectionate personality and love for the outdoors, Nash is sure to bring warmth, joy, and companionship to the right home. Story
Vida is a striking, soulful senior German Shepherd who is ready for a fresh start with someone who truly understands her. At approx. 6 years old, she carries herself with the quiet dignity of a dog who has seen a lot of life and is now looking for stability, comfort, and a person she can call her own. She is not a dog who gives her trust instantly, but when she does, it is deep, loyal, and incredibly meaningful. There are so many wonderful things about Vida. She is fully housetrained, crate trained, and has a solid obedience foundation. She knows sit, stay, down, come, and leave it, and she clearly takes pride in working with her person. She travels well in the car and has made noticeable progress since coming into foster care, showing that she is capable of growth when given time and consistency. Like many German Shepherds, she is intelligent, observant, and deeply bonded to the people she trusts. Her foster family has seen that while she may initially gravitate more toward men, she is absolutely capable of forming strong, affectionate bonds with women as well, once she feels safe. Vida is currently on daily medication that will need to be continued by her future family. She received Gabapentin and Onsior to prevent pain/discomfort from her arthritis and she is also on anti-anxiety medication (Fluoxetine). A 30 day supply of all of her medications will be sent with her into an adoptive home and an adopter will need to be vigilant about veterinary care and continuing these prescriptions. Vida prefers having her people to herself and thrives best when she does not have to share space, attention, or resources with other pets, so she would be best suited to a home where she is the only pet. Due to her sensitivities and need for a calm, predictable environment, Vida would do best in an adult-only home without children. She is also naturally protective of her space and can be wary of strangers in her home, which is very true to her breed. The ideal home for Vida is one with an experienced dog owner (ideally someone familiar with German Shepherds) and someone who is comfortable working on reactivity through trust-building, routine, and continued training. A person or couple who values loyalty over instant affection and who finds joy in earning a dogs trust will truly appreciate who Vida is. Vida is not looking for just any home. She is looking for the right one. In return, she offers steady companionship, intelligence, devotion, and the kind of bond that only comes from patience and understanding. For the right person, Vida will be a deeply rewarding companion and a loyal presence. Our adoption fees cover all up to date veterinary needs, including but not limited to: full veterinary examination, age appropriate vaccinations, fecal test and parasite prevention, wellness bloodwork, spay or neuter, and microchip. All dogs will be started on a 6 week trial of pet insurance after adoption. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.mixed breed | UTD | neutered | fostered in Barrie, ON  Lazarus started this life very under-socialized - contained in a basement with his siblings and parents. Coming into rescue has been so scary for him - Laz will need an adopter who understands this and is willing to work with him through his feelings and help him with consistency, routine and training  Dog friendly &#226&#156&#133 Laz has been exposed to dogs of many sizes from 10lbs to 100lbs, and multiple personalities. He requires calm introductions but he quickly loves other dogs and loves to play. His ideal home will be one with dogs his same size or larger, no small dogs please. Cats &#226&#157&#140 He's been exposed to cats and does chase them. Older kids only &#226&#157&#140 He is not a fan of young children. When on a walk if he hears or sees them even at a distance he reacts and can be hard to redirect. He does react with fear to all humans but settles quicker to women. His foster mom is working hard on socialization  House trained he goes outside often and he goes and sits by the door when he needs to go out but he does still have some accidents  He is good on leash and loves to go for walks, but is a puller and reacts to strangers and is very interested in birds and squirrels. Crate trained &#226&#156&#133 while his foster mom works during the day Laz is crated. At night he sleeps in bed with his foster mom and other foster siblings.  Car rides &#226&#156&#133 He is improving in the car with some practice - he does require a little coaxing to go in.  Laz is a chewer so tough chew toys are a must, he also likes toys that squeak and will quickly dissect stuffies - thankfully he’s not known to ingest the stuffy guts. He loves tug of war especially if it’s with a doggy friend and chasing balls.  He has not showed any toy or food guarding and waits his turn for his treats. He will go and sit in his crate at meal time and waits till he gets the "ok" to eat. He does eat quickly and currently has a slow feeder. He is a high energy dog and loves to play. He is very smart and does learn quickly but is also a little stubborn. When its rest time he is a snuggler and likes to give kisses, attempts to be a lap dog but will settle glued to your hip.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 18, 2026, 12:26 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Fancy — the Spicy, Smart, Sporty Girl Who’s Ready to Impress  Fancy is a 3-year-old, 55-lb cattle dog mix who has completely blossomed in foster care. After raising her seven puppies like an absolute champ, she’s now stepping into her own — and wow, is she ever shining. This girl is brilliant, energetic, and ridiculously fun. She loves to work, loves to learn, and loves to show off just how clever she is. Fancy has just started bite club and is loving it… future IGP candidate??   She’s the kind of dog who’s always ready for the next adventure and would be up for trying anything you throw her way. Her personality is pure joy: she “talks” to share her feelings, proudly brings you toys (or the occasional rock) as gifts, and absolutely adores other dogs. She’s great with dog friends, good with cats, crate trained, walks beautifully on leash, and has the perfect spicy-sweet balance that makes heelers so special. Fancy is still gaining confidence with people. She warms up to women faster, but with a confident, experienced handler, she thrives with anyone. Because she can be unsure around unpredictable little humans, she’s looking for a home with no small kids, and preferably with another dog to help show her the ropes. Fancy has exceeded every expectation. She’s smart, loyal, goofy, athletic, and incredibly rewarding. If you’re looking for a sport prospect, training partner, or all-around amazing companion… Fancy might just be the one. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.River is a young Georgia Peach.  She came to us after being rescued from a ditch, where people fed her for 3 weeks to gain her trust to be able to secure her.  She is a timid but very loving girl, and has blossomed in the time she has been in care. It turns out River has a malformed leg, and hip dysplasia (in both hips), which may lead to her being in a wheelchair at some point in her life but for now she is happy and mobile. River's perfect home would have at least one other dog and to have humans with a lot of patience, time, love and affection for her as she takes her time to open up to them. Once she does, she is a stage 5 clinger so ideally someone who is home often would be great. Her favorite toy is a snuffle ball and favorite activity is cuddling and sleeping near her humans.  River’s foster mom had this to say about her: “She is the sweetest snuggliest girl.  Very silly and gets quite excited. Great unique little personality when jealous.  She loves her k9 companions and is very caring.  No accidents in the home nor destructive behaviours.  Just a sweet easy girl aside from her skittish behavior. She loves to take the clothes of her people and lay with them or on them“ River really needs another dog in her forever home as a companion and to help with her confidence. When meeting other dogs while loose and playing, she’s playful. On leash she can be more cautious River has been around young children She does not like their loud noises or fast movements. With some time and with considerate and dog savvy kids, she will eventually come around and will slowly allow pets and contact.  River is cautious when meeting new people and can particularly be weary of men. With exposure she can become more comfortable over time. She first likes to circle and observe. River is quite skiddish and does not like loud noises and needs time to warm up with slow introductions.  She is starting leash training with her foster mom. It took her quite some time to become comfortable walking on leash and enjoying it but she’s now starting to be more comfortable and will walk along side her foster fur sister.  Crate trained &#226&#156&#133 River is crate trained however she likes to sleep in bed with her foster mom and is not put in her crate when left alone as she is not destructive  River does okay in the car It’s not her favourite place and she can become anxious if in the car without her people or her foster fur sibling.  She has not shown any resource guarding of any kind including with toys, food, or treats.  River is a low-medium energy girlie. She currently does water therapy at Puddle Paws Hydrotherapy and on days she has no therapy, she has 2 short walks.  ADOPTION FEE: River’s adoption fee is fully sponsored  THERAPY FEE: River’s water therapy is fully sponsored. Her continuing sponsorship of water therapy will be discussed with approved applicants.  MEDICATION FEE: Her ongoing medication costs are: Metacam and Gabapentin, as needed  River is being fostered in Orillia, ON Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 17, 2026, 2:16 pm
