Story
This is our sweet boy Ghost, also known as Spooks and Ghosty. He’s a four year old big goofball with loads of energy. Rehoming because although a cuddle bug and wonderful dog- he needs to be an only child. He demands lots of attention and loves to play and snuggle. He already has basic commands such as sit, stay, and lay down. He’s never had an accident or showed any signs of aggression towards toys, food, or people. Please no small children or small pets. He doesn’t know his size and while wanting to play, he doesn’t seem to understand other dogs boundaries- hence the rehoming. He came to us a rescue from Texas but after six months of falling in love with him, our other dogs have not and vice versa. Hoping he’ll find his forever family soon.

Story
Xena is a beautiful female German Shepherd looking for a new home. Like many in her breed, she’s loyal, intelligent, and full of heart. She absolutely loves the outdoors — whether it's going for hikes, playing in the yard, or swimming, she’s in her element outside. Xena can be a little sensitive and cautious when meeting new people, but give her some time and patience, and you’ll see her true colors shine. Once she trusts you, she becomes incredibly affectionate and devoted — the kind of dog who will melt your heart daily. She would thrive best in a calm, experienced home where she can be the center of someone’s world. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will be your adventure and cuddle buddy, Xena might just be the one! If you think you have the right home for our girl please feel free to reach out!

Story
Meet “Vela” from our litter of Celestial Constellation puppies! This sweet boy longs to be in your arms. We think Vela is going to be a velcro dog. While he gets along well with his siblings, if the choice is between his person and the rest of the pup gang, he will pick the lap of his person. He has the most expressive expressions. Look at his eyeliner! And those ears – long and so soft! He was born on April 8, 2025. His mom is a Border Collie. When considering adopting this adorable pup, please research his mom’s breed characteristics. As for any puppy, he will need someone who is committed to his training and satisfying his energy needs to help him become the perfect adult dog. Vela is presently being fostered in Central Oregon. He is up to date on his vaccinations and has been wormed and microchipped. His adoption fee is $400. If you are interested in adopting Vela and are pre-approved, please contact the adoption team at hunahapps@gmail.com. If you are not already approved, you can fill out an application here: http://herduneededahome.com/adopt-a-dog

Story
Hi, My name is Rosie and I am excited to tell you about myself. I am a 1.5 year old, 42 pound, female border collie/heeler mix. My foster mom says I am a very sweet and very good girl and that I am really pretty. I would like to tell you a bit about myself and my ideal home… I would do best with an active, experienced herding dog family with another playful dog about my same size. A home with some acreage with a generous fenced area would be ideal. Could be a farm, a single-family home on acreage, or a cabin near the beach or on an island. It would be a great life for me if I could have space, be surrounded by nature, and live with a loving human or two so I could feel safe and blossom. I think if the adopters had children 12 or older that were able to be consistent with my training and understood how to be chill and keep me safe, then I could be happy in such a family. I am not destructive and I have yet to bark in my foster home. I am fully housebroken and I have a great recall once I am attached to the person I am coming back to. I am a very good traveler and I love the water! I sleep in a crate quietly all night but am learning that the couch is a pretty comfy place to hang out during the daytime. At first, I can be fearful and skittish. Once I settle in, I am always watching and observing the sights around me such as birds, people, squirrels, other dogs, traffic, etc. I am learning how to “play ball”, er, or at least how to catch the ball. The bringing it back part needs a little work. When I say my new family has to have “herding dog experience” that is because I would not be a good dog for an inexperienced owner. I have some, er, sensitive areas of my temperament that will need to be understood so I can be successful. I have some resource guarding issues with "my" things. My toys, the ball, my food, dental chews, all are some items that I am not completely comfortable sharing with other dogs. To be clear, I resource-guarded with the foster's dog but not with people. It was a show of teeth, no lunging or biting, but still, best to be cautious. The foster family simply feeds us separately or feeds me in my crate and it seems to do the trick. I also can be fearful and skittish with new people and unfamiliar situations, so having experienced adopters that will love me and make me feel safe and a friendly and playful dog in my new household will be ideal for my confidence and security. If you would like to learn more about Rosie, please fill out an application at https://www.herduneededahome.com/adopt-a-dog. She is spayed, current on vaccines, and microchipped. She is being fostered in Bend, OR. Adoption fee $400.
