Meet Buddy! Adopters should familiarize themselves with scent hounds prior to adoption. Here at the shelter, Buddy likes to run around outside and chase anything you throw for him. He will be a lovely addition to an active family that is always on the go! Meet and greet is required for this handsome boy since the previous owners let us know that Buddy can be selective with his K-9 friends . Here at the shelter, Buddy has been a friendly and vocal guy. He wants to be around people all the time and has gotten along with staff very well. Giving Buddy consistent routine with lots of exercise and enrichment will help him be a happy and healthy pup. If you are interested in Buddy, stop by the shelter!

Story
If you've ever wished a squishy bulldog cartoon character could come to life, allow us to introduce Biscuit. Biscuit is about 2 years old, and we believe he's a Bulldog/American Bully mix. Whatever his breed makeup may be, one thing is certain: this boy was built for maximum squish. From his giant blocky head and velvety soft face to his permanently adorable little teefers that peek out when he smiles, Biscuit is the kind of dog that makes people laugh and fall in love within about three seconds of meeting him. Seriously. Look at that face. Biscuit is a gentle, affectionate boy who loves people, treats, pets, and just being included in whatever is going on. He's the type of dog who wants to trot alongside you, supervise your yard work, investigate every interesting smell, and then collect payment in the form of belly rubs. Watch Biscuit in action in his video! https://youtu.be/ieAC7nEeQaM?si=-IPSQxWPEw1Qx5Fo One of the cutest things about Biscuit is how much he loves other dogs. During his assessment, he completely lit up when he met a little scruffy dog named Mateo. His tail started wagging at warp speed, his confidence came out, and he suddenly decided everything was wonderful. Watching him make friends was honestly adorable. His ideal dog friend would be easygoing, playful, or generally non-confrontational. Biscuit isn't looking for drama—he's looking for a buddy. Biscuit has that classic bulldog charm, too. He might throw in a happy little hop when he's excited. He can be a bit of a goofball. He occasionally forgets that he's not a tiny lap dog. And while he enjoys a good adventure, he's definitely more of a "stroll around and sniff every blade of grass" kind of guy than a marathon runner. As for cats, Biscuit surprised us in the best way. After a little time to process the situation, he politely sniffed, followed, and even gave the kitty some gentle kisses. We'd still want to do additional testing for homes with cats, but we saw some really encouraging signs. Biscuit also met a 9-year-old child and did great. Because he's a sturdy, enthusiastic bulldog boy who can get excited and forget how much squish-powered momentum he has, we'd recommend older kiddos who can appreciate his goofy personality. His dream home would probably include a yard, some snacks, a comfy couch, and people who appreciate the finer things in life, like bulldog snores, random happy hops, and tiny teeth sticking out for absolutely no reason. At the end of the day, Biscuit is just pure joy. He's funny without trying, sweet as can be, great with other dogs, and has one of those faces that somehow gets cuter every time you look at it. If you've been searching for a best friend who looks like a warm biscuit and loves with his whole heart, this squishy little guy is ready to meet you. Story
Meet Honeybun! Honeybun is a 2-year-old, 44-pound Bulldog/American Bully mix, and quite frankly, she believes life should be enjoyed from the comfort of a plush couch, preferably wrapped in a soft blanket while being told how beautiful she is. This gorgeous girl has the most kissable squishy bulldog face, the sweetest pouty expression, and the kind of soulful eyes that make you want to tell her all your secrets. Her chunky little body, adorable bulldog wrinkles, and permanently concerned expression only add to her charm. She looks like a fancy little queen who accidentally got lost on her way to a spa day. Honeybun's dream life is simple: a cozy couch, a sunny backyard, a few favorite stuffies, and people who adore her. She is the definition of a luxury model couch potato. While some dogs dream of hiking mountains, Honeybun dreams of finding the warmest patch of sunshine in the yard and taking a world-class nap. To truly see who Honeybun is, watch her video! Then come right back to read more! https://youtu.be/onXz8umb0_E?si=7tM1X0HtR3m8CaMn She absolutely loves sunbathing and would thrive in a home with a yard where she can lounge, sniff around, supervise your gardening efforts, and soak up the sunshine like the little princess she is. She's still figuring out this whole leash-walking thing and tends to pancake when she's unsure, but honestly, Honeybun is such a homebody that she's perfectly content living her best backyard-and-couch lifestyle. Honeybun is wonderfully social with other dogs, but in the most Honebun way possible. She'll happily wag her tail, say hello, exchange a few polite sniffs, and then wander off to do her own thing. She isn't looking for a wrestling partner or a dog park bestie, she's looking for peaceful coexistence and good vibes. Think "friendly neighbor" rather than "party animal." She also did wonderfully with our house cat. She politely sniffed, watched the cat hop around, and then decided it wasn't really her business. We'll happily do additional testing for homes with cats, but she showed some very encouraging signs. One of the sweetest moments I’ve ever seen was watching her with an 8-year-old boy. Honeybun completely melted. She stretched out in the grass, accepted chin scratches like royalty accepting tribute, and looked perfectly content to stay there forever. Based on her gentle nature, we think she'd do wonderfully with respectful children. At the end of the day, Honeybun is a soft-hearted, low-key girl who simply wants love. She isn't asking for much, just a comfy couch, a sunny spot, some snacks, and people who will appreciate her unique combination of squishy bulldog cuteness and laid-back charm. If your dream dog is less "adventure athlete" and more "luxury throw pillow that occasionally waddles around the house," Honeybun may be your soulmate. Story
Sweet Potato firmly believes that personal space is optional. If you're sitting on the couch, she's coming over. If there's a cozy spot next to you, she's claiming it. And if you happen to have a lap available? Even better. This girl is the definition of a cuddle bug wrapped up in a fluffy teddy bear body. She has that rare combination of being incredibly affectionate, wonderfully easygoing, and so naturally comforting to be around that spending time with her feels like a deep exhale after a long day. Sweet Potato isn't interested in causing chaos or being the center of attention. She's interested in being close to her people and soaking up every bit of love she can get. When you watch her video..you’ll understand exactly what we are talking about: https://youtu.be/Nry7aW28cKI?si=GawOjp4f4nN6cpGm Sweet Potato is believed to be a GSD/Anatolian Shepherd mix approximately 6 years old and currently weighs 57 lbs. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. She's not just a good girl. She's the kind of dog that makes living with a dog feel easy. Fluffy enough to double as a pillow. Affectionate enough to believe she belongs in your lap despite not exactly being lap-dog sized (who doesn’t love an oversized lap dog?!). Calm enough to peacefully exist through the chaos of everyday life. Sweet enough to melt you on contact. Isn't chaotic puppy energy. She's that perfectly balanced, low-energy, go-with-the-flow lady who knows when it's time for a stroll, when it's time to relax outside in the sunshine, and when it's time to curl up beside you on the couch. From what we have seen so far, has wonderful house manners, will make herself right at home (on your couch lol), walks easy on a leash, and carries herself like the polite lady she is. No nonsense. No drama. Just solid, dependable good girl energy. One of our favorite things about Sweet Potato is how naturally she gravitated toward the 14-year-old she met. There was no hesitation whatsoever. She immediately walked over, hopped up on the couch, and made herself comfortable leaning all over her for affection. Apparently Sweet Potato's belief that she's a lap dog doesn't just apply to adults LOL. Despite her size, she was incredibly gentle, calm, and respectful throughout the interaction. She seemed perfectly content soaking up attention, handing out love, and simply being close to her new friend. Sweet Potato has also been around younger kids ages 5 and 9. Just like with the 14 year old, she immediately when up to the younger kids and was just as gentle and sweet with them. Based on her interactions that we have seen so far, we believe she has great potential to be a wonderful dog for a family with kids. Sweet Potato is very dog friendly and has done great with all of the dogs we have introduced her to. She's much more of a calm "happy to coexist" kind of gal rather than a super playful dog that's looking for nonstop interaction. She appreciates respectful dogs that are easygoing and not overly pushy with play. If younger puppies or rude dogs get a little too persistent trying to convince her to wrestle or play, she will absolutely give a fair correction like the wise older sister of the group basically saying, "alright now kids, go find someone else to bother" LOL. She's very appropriate with her communication and overall has a really grounded, unbothered personality around other dogs. If you don't have another dog, Sweet Potato is completely fine with that too. She does not rely on other dogs for comfort or confidence and seems perfectly happy simply being near her people, claiming a cozy spot nearby, and enjoying the simple things in life. She has also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. She did not chase Biggie, nor was she bothered by Biggie jumping or doing what cats do. Biggie also appeared to be comfortable around her as well. We do not know if she has ever lived in a home before with a cat and this was our first time seeing her with a cat. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for Sweet Potato to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know! Sweet Potato isn't looking for an action-packed lifestyle. She's looking for her people. The ones who appreciate slow mornings, peaceful evenings, couch cuddles, and a loyal companion that wants nothing more than to be by your side. She'll greet you with a wagging tail, happily join you for a car ride, settle beside you while you work, and quietly become one of your favorite parts of every day. She's the type of dog that doesn't need to be flashy to stand out. Her sweetness speaks for itself. If you've been waiting for an affectionate, easygoing, dog-friendly companion that feels like she's been part of your family all along, this is your sign. Sweet Potato is ready to start her forever chapter. All she needs now is you. We are willing to test Sweet Potato with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
