Story
Meet Luna Breed: Pit Bull Mix Sex: Female Age: 1/22/2016 Weight: 50 pounds Health: Healthy and well cared for Luna is a gentle soul with a big heart and a lifetime of love still to give. This beautiful senior girl is happy, friendly, and incredibly affectionate — the kind of dog who leans in for pets, wags her tail with quiet joy, and simply wants to be near her people. Luna found herself surrendered by her previous owners through no fault of her own. Despite the confusion of losing her home, she has remained loving, trusting, and full of grace. She carries herself with the calm confidence of a dog who knows how to love deeply. Personality Luna is sweet, easygoing, and people-oriented. She enjoys companionship, gentle attention, and relaxed time with her humans. Whether she’s lounging nearby, soaking up affection, or greeting you with a soft tail wag, Luna’s presence is comforting and full of warmth. She’s friendly, affectionate, and emotionally intuitive — a true heart dog. Breed Info: Pit Bull (Senior) Pit Bulls are known for: Deep loyalty and affection Strong bonds with their families Gentle, people-loving temperaments Thriving on love and companionship As a senior, Luna is past the chaos of puppyhood and brings a calm, settled energy that makes her an easy and rewarding companion. The Perfect Home for Luna Luna would do best in a home that: Appreciates the beauty of senior dogs Enjoys calm companionship and affection Can provide a stable, loving environment Values patience, kindness, and routine She doesn’t need much — just love, comfort, and a soft place to land. Vet Care Luna is healthy, but adopters should establish care with their own veterinarian shortly after adoption to continue supporting her well-being during her golden years. Why Adopt a Senior? Senior dogs like Luna: Are emotionally mature and deeply grateful Settle easily into home life Offer unconditional love without the chaos of youth Make incredible, loyal companions Luna’s Promise Luna promises to give her whole heart to the family who chooses her. She has so much love left to share and deserves a home where she will be cherished, respected, and adored for the rest of her days. If you’re looking for a calm, loving companion with a gentle soul, Luna is ready to come home   If you are interested in adopting this amazing dog, please follow the link https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions and fill out an application  Thank you for choosing Ozzie and Friends Rescue. Story
Burrito was found on 1/18/26 at the 900 block of Cloverleaf Loop in Springfield. He came into the shelter already neutered. If you believe this is your missing dog, please contact the shelter at (541) 689-1503. Since this dog is new to the shelter and we are still looking for their family, they are not viewable on the adoption floor at this time. The shelter staff is giving me some time to settle in and adjust to this new place. As we get to know each other a little better, the behavior team and veterinary staff will then be evaluating my needs. Please stay tuned for my updated information! Our shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable and for most dogs we are only guessing at their primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. This pet is located at Greenhill Humane Society. 88530 Greenhill Road, Eugene, OR 97402 (541) 689-1503. Story
Luna (age 3) was a stray from Baja, Mexico that I adopted when she was 12 weeks old. She is an amazing adventure buddy by day and snuggle pup at night! High energy, fast runner, loves to play tug of war and fetch, will jump up and dance with you to music, loves to hike and play with other dogs, especially puppies. She gets cold easily and loves pillows, fuzzy blankets and heating pads/heated car seats. very smart and can be taught many games and tricks. Luna loves children of all ages and sleeps well in her crate, but prefers to sleep with her family in between your legs or under your arm where its most warm. crate and potty trained, minimal pulling on leash, knows several commands: sit, stay, wait, drop, leave it, look, place, come here, off. Rehome reason: shes anxious and will bark/growl around people she doesnt know or if shes startled or approached too quickly, which makes her not the right vibe as my acupuncture clinic therapy dog. No history of aggression.
