Story
Bandit is a (almost) 8-year old Border Collie/McNab mix and is one of the best dogs in the world. An absolute sweetheart that loves cuddles, tricks and treats, and lives for the ball or having some kind of job. He does struggle with daily anxiety that we’ve been working through with behavioral training and calming medications. We’re moving to the Netherlands and have had a lot of really hard conversations around whether an international move and to a city with a lot of activity/loud noises/etc. is really the best thing for him in the long-run. We’d like to find him a home where he’s either the only dog or is with an older/calmer dog. He has lived with cats his whole life, so shouldn’t be a problem. Ideally he lives in a calmer household than ours, so young children might not be the best. He would love room to roam or a large fenced yard, and someone who has the patience and attention to give him the daily stimulation that border collies with anxiety need.

Story
Meet Lina This sweet girl is a so silly and loves to be around her humans. Lina had a broken right paw and sadly while sitting in the shelter it started to heal on its own, she sometimes walks with a noticeable limp, not very much anymore since it's healed almost completely, but you would think she is perfectly fine given that this doesn’t appear to deter her from zooming all over our yard and wrestling with our other dogs. She appears to be okay with cats (with a slow introduction), as she does not bark or show aggression, but does want play with them. When we’re watching tv in the evenings, she likes to snuggle right next or on top of me and loves gentle pets on her head and belly. At night, it’s easy to crate her and she falls asleep rather quickly after a day of fun activities. Since she is a young dog, Lina is very energetic and would be perfect for anyone who loves to be outside for walks/runs/hikes or simply have a large yard she can run around in. If you must crate her, she will be fine with a chew toy, beefhide chew ,bone, or treat-filled Kong to occupy her. Please do not leave her in the crate without toys as she will get antsy she was chewing hot spots on her feet in the shelter from sitting all day in a small kennel, they have healed now. She is very food motivated, and has learned to glue her butt to the floor when I approach with a treat. She is potty-trained and knows to wait until we let her out into the yard every few hours, she holds it overnight in crate. She walks well on a leash and doesn't pull, though she can get curious about passing cars/people. She has now had training in leash and started long line training for offleash reliability. She knows: sit, down, place, stay (a work in progress), off, NO/Leave it, Come, her name, Give (release whatever is in her mouth to me), Wait (before door ways, before being freed to eat or let out of crate) and free (release work).  If interested please fill out and submit an application online at Softpawsrescue.org and send in home and yard photos for consideration to adopt. We like to do 2 week Foster to Adopts so the dogs don't have to move around as much and they can bond and make sure they fit into your home before completion of adoption. Dogs adoption fee's will include vet visit/exam, spay/neuter, microchip, blood work up/dental if vet says it is needed, dewormed, up to date on shots (DHPP and Rabies, Bordetella can be done if requested we don't do it normally as we don't have the dogs in boarding, dog parks or high risk locations), current on 1 dose of flea treatment in case they brought any with them from CA.  If anything isn't mentioned that you don't see but is normally done please ask. ##1634915##

Story
Bodhi is a good boy with tons of energy, he’s gluten free for his ear health. Has not had a lot of time with other dogs so solo pup with limited time with others. He’s not a dog park kinda guy he’s always had me and the woods. Because of his size and energy we have avoided dog parks. But he know his basic commands is kennel trained and house trained as well. We were going to move to Alaska together but airlines refuse to fly his breed and we’d be in the snow 70% of the year that’s not fair to this short haired fella.. my work has moved me and I’ve tried everything I can to find him a happy home cause that’s what he deserves. He’s a good boy always down for adventures, within 2 weeks of my pit potential move he bruised his knee and is on meds. Vets says potential surgery within a year.. he’s is worth the time and energy.. loyal as they come

Darling family dog, two years old, but she needs more space than we can provide for her right now. Looking for an active home and backyard with a sturdy fence. She needs all the love and an outdoor space to lounge around on these warm spring afternoons.

Story
Dignan is a fourteen year old cat dog. He likes to burrow and cuddle. He wants to be with his humans from one room of the house to another. It’s easy to forget his age when he starts doing his zoomies. He can be a little unpredictable around other dogs, but has started becoming more apathetic towards other dogs as he’s gotten older. He doesn’t really chase cats, especially if they are dominant in the space. Dignan loves basking in the sun wherever possible. My ex wife and I adopted him in 2010. She left the country about seven years ago and he’s been solely with me ever since. However, my work schedule is prohibitive of having a pet. Plus, I am also soon to be relocating with a good chunk of time living in my vehicle, which won’t be a good environment for the pup. I’m hoping to find someone who can help Dignan really enjoy his golden years.
