Story
Ahoy there! Meet Captain Hook, a charming, one-year-old mixed breed girl who’s ready to steer her ship straight into your heart! This young adventurer has just the right amount of energy and affection. Despite her pirate name, there’s nothing rogue about this sweet girl. She walks nicely on a leash, is eager to learn, and thrives when given gentle guidance. Captain Hook is in a foster home right now and her foster says she is active, loyal, and ready for adventure. She loves long hikes, car rides, and playing with other dogs (push/pull playstyle). She’s house trained, knows “come,” isn’t afraid of vacuums or horses, and is incredibly devoted to her person. She needs a no-cat home and would thrive with another playful dog and an active family. If you are interested in meeting Captain Hook, please email pawsrescue@andersoncountysc.gov!

Story
Meet Thelma Lou, a little lady with a big heart and the sweetest personality to match. At just 8 months old, this mixed-breed cutie is already showing what a gentle, loving companion she’s going to be. Thelma Lou is dog-social and enjoys the company of other pups, making her a great fit for a home with a friendly canine buddy or for someone looking to expand their pack. She has a dainty, soft nature and tends to take in the world with a calm curiosity rather than rushing into everything. She’s still a puppy, so she’ll benefit from continued training, structure, and lots of positive experiences to help her grow into a confident adult dog. Thelma Lou is now in a foster home living with another dog and cats. She has been mostly crate trained and doing amazing with potty training! Thelma Lou is ready to find her people the ones who will cherish her sweet personality and give her all the love she deserves. Please email pawsrescue@andersoncountysc.gov if you are interested in meeting this sweet girl!

Story
Meet Rye — the softest slice in the loaf! Rye is a 3-year-old mixed-breed gentleman with a heart as warm as fresh-baked bread. He’s dog-social and has the sweetest, daintiest play style think polite zoomies and “excuse me, is this toy available?” energy. He’s the kind of pup who makes friends without ever causing a ruckus. He loves playing in the water! When it comes to meeting new people, Rye can be a little shy at first. He might give you the “I’ll just observe from over here” look, but give him a little time (and maybe a kind word or two), and he’ll be leaning in for affection before you know it. Once he warms up, he’s all in loyal, loving, and ready to be your shadow. Rye would do great in a home that understands he just needs a moment to rise… because, well, even the best Rye takes a little time to come out of the oven just right. If you’re looking for a gentle, sweet-natured companion who will grow into your best friend, Rye is ready to be the best thing since sliced bread. Come meet Rye at Anderson County PAWS. We`re open 12-5 pm (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat)
