Story
Cash was spotted laying in the grass across from our volunteer's house. He had no identification on him and was happy to be rescued and taken into safety. Cash is a handsome black Shepherd that likes the attention of people. He needed some basic training as we don't think anyone took the time to teach him much. He is currently at an adult home with other dogs and a fenced yard to play in. A new family with people familiar with the breed is always best as this breed likes daily activity and attention. Cash will become a very loyal companion. He is people orientated, listens well, enjoys walking and playing with his ball. Cash also enjoyed laying in the doggy pool in the hot weather. We think he is approximately 2 years old.

Heidi is looking for a new foster or adoptive home as her owner is losing their home. She has been living with other dogs and is fine with older kids. Heidi is very lovable and friendly and would welcome someone who is familiar with her breed. We are looking for a calm home. She would be fine as an only dog with someone who might be able to be home and spend time with her or she can be a good companion for another dog. Birthdate 12-18-17

Story
Bria loves to cuddle, loves to be cuddled, loves to go on walks, very eager to learn and is attentive. Her temporary foster lives on a lake and Bria loves the water. Slow introductions are needed when she meets another dog or she can be an only dog in the home. Bria is an amazingly sweet girl, loves affection and being with people. She leans in for pets from every new person she meets! She has met adults, kids and has done great in a variety of situations. She LOVES being outside. Playing and just watching everything that is happening. Inside, she prefers to sit close to people! She is not shy when asking for belly rubs. Bria is young and has a lot of energy. She loves playing ball outside, loves any and every kind of ball. She enjoys playing with stuffies, isn't super destructive but will shred one occasionally ;) If unattended, she will find something to chew on, if shoes aren't put away, she will find them! She loves to be silly, grab something and have you chase her. She plays with all types of toys and can entertain herself for long periods of time. She loves going for walks!! She is not reactive to other dogs while walking but will pull if another dog walks near. Squirrels are very interesting to her, she will pull when she sees one but is getting better! She is crate trained. She will go in easily when you are leaving, she will also go in for a nap on her own when tired. She has never had an accident in her crate. She is currently living with another dog. They were kept completely separate for the first week. We started having them in the same room for short periods with leashes on. Now they are able to be in the house without leashes only when they are constantly supervised. Bria would be great as an only dog, she loves all the attention and snuggles. She could have a dog sibling if the new family went very slow and monitored constantly for a long time. Bria is not dog aggressive or reactive but if another dog comes up barking (even if it's just play) she gets scared and will react. She does seem to have a prey drive (squirrels, bunnies, woodchucks...) so I do not know how she would be with a cat. Bria would love an active family! She is eager to please and would thrive with positive reinforcement training (no prong or shock collars!!!). A fenced in yard would be great for her. She would do well with respectful kids. When she's doing zoomies ore playing hard, she could definitely knock over a little one so would always need supervision with any kids (as any dog should have). She learns quickly and loves positive praise. Bria is an amazingly sweet girl and is ready to find her forever family! Birthdate approximately 7/15/23

Story
Sweet Gilmore may be over 10 years old, blind, and hard of hearing, but don’t let that fool you—this girl is full of life and personality! Despite her age, she has a young spirit, loves her toys (the tougher, the better!), and will happily entertain herself and her people with her playful energy. Here’s what you’ll love about Gilly: -Loyal Companion – Gilmore has a special way of sniffing her way over to wherever you are. She’s a total people dog and will come to snuggle up by your feet, making her the perfect co-worker and cuddle buddy. -Potty Trained – She quickly learned her fosters routine and hasn’t had any accidents since her initial adjustment. She’s happy to go outside on a regular schedule and can even be left alone for up to 7 hours without any issues. -Playful Spirit – Despite being blind, Gilly still LOVES to play with her toys, especially tough rubber ones she can’t destroy. She’s a big fan of fun and games! -Dog Friendly – Gilly gets along wonderfully with her foster sibling, a female Goldendoodle. She’s respectful and easygoing around other dogs, though with smaller or male dogs, she needs slow introductions. -Best for Families with Older Kids – Gilmore’s blindness sometimes leads to a few playful bumps here and there, so she would do best in a home with older kids who understand her limitations. Gilmore is a special girl with so much love to give. Her foster has truly enjoyed having her, and we’re sure anyone would be lucky to call her family. Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home. Story
Meet Blaze, a senior sweetheart with a heart of gold and a charming wobble in his step. This 7- to 8-year-old gentle soul has been through a lot but is ready to start his next chapter with a family who will shower him with the love and care he’s always deserved. Blaze’s journey hasn’t been easy—he came to us from DACC, where his future was uncertain. Now, this lovable guy is searching for a cozy, comfortable home where he can enjoy his golden years surrounded by kindness. Blaze is the perfect houseguest. He’s fully potty trained, sleeps soundly in his crate with a treat to coax him in, and is completely non-destructive when left alone. He’s happiest on leisurely, sniff-filled strolls, though his wobbly back legs mean short walks are best for now. Watching Blaze’s endearing, tipsy gait is sure to melt your heart! One of Blaze’s favorite activities is car rides—he’s obsessed! Whether it’s a quick errand or a scenic drive, he’s thrilled to join and happily watches the world go by. Just give him a little help getting in and out, and he’s ready to go. Treats, peanut butter Kongs, and snuffle mats are also highlights of his day. Blaze gets along well with calm, respectful dogs and enjoys companionable walks with furry friends. While he’s curious about cats, he’s more of a quiet observer than a chaser. He’s also a people-pleaser, happiest when he’s by your side, either on a cozy dog bed or just hanging out. Blaze’s only request? A home with minimal stairs and maybe some rugs or carpet to help with his mobility. This simple guy is ready to bring his gentle, loving nature into a home where he can relax and thrive. Could you be the hero Blaze has been waiting for? Apply to foster or adopt today and give this amazing boy the life he deserves.
