Story
Meet BUDDY! Buddy is a very handsome 2.5-year male German Shepherd mix. Buddy is great with children and loves affection. Buddy knows all his basic commands and does great with other dogs. He's a smart guy, learns quickly and wants to please. Buddy loves to go on walks or play but can relax and take a nap throughout the day as well. His favorite thing is playing in the water hose and of course, hanging with his people, plus being a perfect companion. Buddy is great on a leashed and is perfect in the home. He is submissive towards everyone and has an excellent temperament. Buddy would be a great family dog and a wonderful addition. He is neutered, up-to-date with vaccinations, flea, and tick prevention given, heart worm tested (negative) and microchipped. Buddy is located in Vancouver Washington and is available to meet anytime. Please email cynthia@pawsforliferescue.net for more information and to arrange meeting him!

Story
Koda was recently brought to the shelter when his family could no longer care for him, and now he’s looking for a new place to call home. He would love an experienced, dog-savvy family, ideally one familiar with large breeds or, even better, German Shepherds, who understands the needs of big, intelligent dogs.Koda is a very large and strong boy and would do best in a home setting with a securely fenced yard where he can safely stretch his legs. He can be vocal on leash towards other dogs, and because of his strength, adopters should be comfortable handling a powerful dog and continuing his leash training. At home, Koda has a great balance of energy, he enjoys going for walks and visiting the park, but he’s also very happy to relax and hang out with his people. His previous family reports that he is fully potty trained.Koda has lived with cats and done well sharing space with them. While he has not lived with other dogs in the home, he has shared space with dogs outside of it. As always, slow and thoughtful introductions are recommended.Koda can feel a little nervous at the vet, so a clinic that prioritizes fear-free handling would be ideal to help him feel more comfortable and supported. If you’re looking for a loyal, big-hearted companion and have the experience to help him thrive, Koda could be a wonderful addition to your family. Come meet him and see if he’s the one for you!

Story
Calli is a sweet 6-month-old German Shepherd with a little bit of Australian Shepherd. Calli is very intelligent and food motivated! She is eager to please and likes being with her people. Although she can be timid, she gets along well with other dogs. She loves running around with other dogs at the park. We got Calli in October and began training with her right away. She has been attending puppy classes and is a star student. She has high energy as a working dog so we do our best to get her mental stimulation and exercise every day. We recently found out that we are having our first baby, and we know that we cannot give Calli the time she deserves to have a fulfilled life. We are hoping to find her a family with an active lifestyle who can give her the time and attention she deserves.

Story
This is Mila. She has a back story that helps explain why I am having to rehome her and why an experienced adopter is preferred. She was originally my neighbors X-mas puppy 22, born Oct. A week later she was put outside and left there. Untrained, unsocialized, unloved and malnourished as my partner and I watched in horror. 8/23 the neighbor came to us asking us to watch her while he tried to rehome her as he was moving. We took her on the spot. She was filthy, underweight and terrified. Now she is an entirely different dog, but shes still fairly anxious and has trauma. She has a nervous bladder around new people or if she hears an angry voice/door slam/etc. She gets along with other dogs but it’s personality dependent. She loves fetch, running, cheese, and couch snuggles. Timid until she gets to know you and shes very loving. It’s hard to give her up but I cant have her and my other dog Nico snapping at each other. Might fair better with a female owner possibly but is ok with men.

Story
Rocky was an adopted dog as a puppy of only three months old. He was born on July 15, 2021, now being 4 years old. We are looking for a new home for him since we are a busy family and don't have time to look after him regarding his physical activity and training. He is a good dog very affectionate and loving. He has a structured life. He spends most of his day in the backyard and sleeps in his crate at night thats located in the garage. He has three meals a day in moderate portions. He is not a big fan of kids and is selective with people, but if he likes you he is very loving and protective. If you are a dog lover, have space and time and are seeking to own a German Shepherd, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We love Rocky and did not take this decision lightly, but we feel like this is the best option for his well-being.
