Story
Emma is the sweetest girl on the planet! She’s a love bug and loves cuddles. I’ve had her since she was 6 months old. She was supposed to be a goat guardian. She loves the goats and thinks all the babies are hers. *She is an escape artist and a flight risk* She jumps the fence and can open our front and back doors. She has broken 2 outdoor tethers and run the neighborhood dragging them. She is VERY protective of her people and property. Because she escapes, she’s stuck inside the house all day. I think for her to be happy, she needs a job to do, or an active family who will take her on hikes, or to be a 4-H dog. She has A LOT of energy. She gets along with other dogs for the most part. I fostered many small dogs. But she does chase dogs off her property. She’s great with cats and children. She is a sweet sensitive girl.

Story
Puppy Perfection - Meet the Marvelous Daisy! 🌸🐕 Hello Colorado dog lovers! Allow me to introduce the extraordinary Daisy. This pointer mix is just 7 months young, weighing in at 60 lbs of pure puppy joy with plenty more growing to do! Daisy is the total package - beautiful, brilliant, and brimming with energy and eagerness to learn. She's a serious treat motivation training rockstar who already knows sit, down, no, and her name. This smart cookie is doggie door trained and will politely alert you when she needs to go out. Daisy's quest for knowledge continues as she's picking up leash manners like a pro! But don't let her impressive obedience skills fool you - Daisy's favorite pastime is entertaining herself by launching toys in the air or engaging in a most elite fly chasing circuit. When she's not supervising the yard for avian infractions, you'll find this velvety bundle of snuggles glued to your side, angling for tummy rubs and ear scratches. While Daisy's heart is stuffed with more love than a teddy bear, she hasn't quite mastered the "fetch" game just yet. But no worries - she'll make up for it by being your most loyal hiking buddy, jog bestie, or backyard ball-launching champion! Daisy can't wait to meet her new active, adventurous crew to call her own. She's ready to smoosh face-first into your life, lavishing you with cuddles and kisses as your ultimate outdoor romping, park exploring, Frisbee retrieving (eh, maybe one day) companion. All Daisy needs is a fenced yard, some dog pals to tumble with, and your smitten family to dote on her! If Daisy sounds like your type of girl please apply at https://www.fromforgottentoforever.com/adoptionapplication/

Story
Meet Heartly, the sweet girl who craves affection! She's looking for a family who can spend a lot of time with her, as she thrives on love and attention. Heartly may do best as the only pet, as she can be a bit possessive of her food and treats. She's used to living on a farm, so she'll need help transitioning to city life. Heartly would be happiest in a home away from livestock and small pets, where she can be the center of your world and shower you with love!July 22, 2024, 10:18 pm

Story
Hello, I'm Mo! I'm the sweetest, friendliest, most curious and smartest dog you'll ever meet. My sidekick, Banzai, and I ended up here after a hilarious mix-up at the park. You see, we mistook the animal control van for the ice cream truck! We chased it all the way here and well, the rest is history. We've been making the best of our situation, causing laughter and spreading joy. If you're looking for a friend that can turn any situation into a comedy sketch, I'm your dogs. Adopt me, and let's create our own sitcom! If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas twice a month. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veteinarian ($35). Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! ##2032005##

Story
Cassie is a retired Service Dog and certified therapy dog who is ready to retire and only spend time with a loving human(s) who’s just for her. She’s the snuggliest of snugglers, perfectly happy to lay at her loved one’s feet forever. She’s a dream on a leash, only pulling if another dog approaches aggressively and she feels the need to defend her person. She needs a home with a human who can be home with her 24/7. Perhaps as a result of her lengthy career (she just turned 8!), she has separation anxiety and cannot handle being apart from humans who love her. She’d be perfect for a work from home human who wants a calm, cuddly, super low maintenance companion or a home schooled family with kids who love to brush her luxe white coat!
