Story
Hi, I'm Mesa! I'm still a pup, full of energy and curiosity. I'm always up for a game of fetch or a good puzzle toy. My sweet and friendly nature makes me a great playmate. I'm also quite the cuddler, always ready for a good snuggle. I'm loyal, too. Once we bond, we're a team for life. I'm smart and brave, always eager to learn new things and face new challenges. I'm not just a pet, I'm a companion, a friend, a family member. I'm looking for a home where I can share all the love and joy I have to offer. Why should you adopt me? Well, I promise to fill your life with laughter, love, and lots of puppy kisses! If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. No need to call to find out about me, you can ask questions on the application or email questions to info@polkcountyhumanesociety.org. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas twice a month. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veteinarian ($35). Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! ##1989980##

Hello, I'm Marley. I am a 3 year old Great Pyrenees/Catahoula Leopard mix. I may be a bit shy at first, but give me a little time and you'll see my friendly side. I'm quite independent, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy company. I just need a moment to warm up to new faces. Once I do, I promise you'll see how much love I have to give. I've got a heart full of affection just waiting to be shared with a family that will give me a chance. Adopting me won't just change my life, it'll add a loyal, loving companion to yours. Hello there, I'm Adidas! I may be young, but I'm full of spirit and intelligence. When I'm not busy learning new tricks, I love to play. Fetch, tug-of-war, hide-and-seek, you name it! But don't think it's all games with me. I'm a sweet girl who loves nothing more than cuddling up with someone special after a long day of fun. I'm always ready to lend a paw or a sympathetic ear. I believe in making every day an adventure, and I'm searching for a partner in crime to share those adventures with. If you're looking for a smart, playful, and sweet companion, then look no further. I'm ready to make your life a little brighter, a little more fun, and a whole lot more loving. Adopt me, and let's start our adventure together! Story
My name is Josie. I am a 75#, spayed, 2 yr old female Pyrenees. I’m so excited to find my perfect forever family! I came into the shelter in TX when my owners moved into an apartment and couldn’t take me with them. I was lucky to make it out and land a foster family here in CO! My foster parents call me “cuddle bug” &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143  My favorite activities include going for walks to sniff all the things, roaming the back yard, and snuggling with my family! My foster mom is helping me to learn I can snuggle but still respect personal space of everyone. I just get so excited! I enjoy hanging out with my other foster siblings.  I like both the cats (although one doesn’t like me so I avoid her). The other dogs are super tiny next to me (chihuahuas) but I’m gentle and like lying with them and eating treats! And I like my Pyr foster brother. I am still true to my Pyrenees traits of being stubborn, independent, and I take careful watch over all my home! I am housebroken and UTD on vaccines. I require a 6’ wooden enclosed fence. I’m still getting used to walking on wood floors vs carpet but I’m getting much better! I have not been tested with kids but an older respectful child should be ok. If you are interested in meeting me, the first step is to complete the meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. My adoption fee is $375 and we do not adopt out of Colorado.April 29, 2024, 11:29 am

Shelter visiting hours are 12 pm to 4 pm - Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays Please fill out an adoption application at mamcorescue.org or attend one of our Saturday adoption event. Events are held each Saturday from 12 pm to 5 pm at our office: 2721 W Oxford Ave., Suite 6 Englewood, CO 80110 *In order to protect our puppies, we do not allow puppies to attend open events until they have a minimum of two vaccinations. Puppies who are available, but not listed on our weekly Facebook event, are considered "deposit only" puppies. These puppies will only attend the event IF they are reserved through a deposit. You can check the list of puppies attending the open event by checking the event: https://www.facebook.com/MAMCORescue  At MAMCO we understand that in order to continue rescuing moms and babies, we must stretch our finances as far as we are able. For this reason we use variable adoption pricing. By assigning higher adoption fees to high demand moms and puppies, we are able to rescue more families in need. The money raised through these adoptions acts as a benefactor to moms and puppies in our care who require expensive veterinary treatments, have behavioral issues, or need more time to find a home. We often reduce the adoption fees on these harder-to-place moms and puppies to help them find forever families. Adoption fees vary. Applications can be filled out at mamcorescue.org. Unless otherwise stated, all of our dogs are mixed breeds. We never guarantee the size, breed, or temperment of any of our puppies.  ##2013749##

Story
Gentle Giant Alert! Meet Atlas, the sweetest, goofiest, most mellow dog you'll ever meet. At 7 months and 75 lbs he could easily be mistaken for a proper guard dog.  However, his "attacks" will consist of slobbery kisses and trying to crawl into your lap.  He's the quintessential good boy who has made fast friends with the resident dogs in his foster home. Atlas is a simple soul who enjoys belly rubs, carrots and sleeping on his dog bed next to his foster mom at night. He has already mastered leash walking and has only had one accident in his foster home.  If you're looking for a gentle, friendly companion who will greet you like you're the best thing since sliced bread (or carrots), Atlas is your guy. Atlas is being fostered in Colorado Springs and is looking forward to meeting you.  ##2008221##

Story
Cece is the sweetest girl looking for her family! She loves to be with her people and will be right by your side no matter what you're doing! She's goofy and still growing into her body, so she has the cutest puppy run that is sure to melt your heart! She is happy to meet strangers and would spend most of the day outside if she got to choose. Cece and her brother Phillip love wrestling, chasing tennis balls, and playing with toys! When they're playing, she regularly comes back to her foster to check in so she'll likely be easy to train off leash. She is highly food motivated and eager to learn. Cece isn't a picky eater and is willing to try any food her foster offers her. Cece does great in the car and has taken multiple field trips to pet friendly stores and a brewery. She didn't bat an eye when walking by carts and through automatic doors! Cece has gone on a few short hikes and will be a great companion for any outdoor adventure. She is perfectly content to hang out in her pen when her people aren't home and also sleeps silently through the night in her kennel! Cece hasn't had an accident in her foster home, but she's still young so frequent potty breaks are always recommended. Cece is happy to share her food and toys with other dogs and doesn't show signs of resource guarding. She loves the resident dogs in her foster home and gets very excited when they play with her. Cece could fit into a lot of homes! She could happy live with another playful dog or would also be content as an only dog. She will be on the larger side, so keep that in mind when considering if your home would be the right fit! ##2020668##

Story
I can be present to assist with transitioning in the capacity of relationship building and/or training moving forward. I am willing to travel hours to the right location if needed. I have had Cudi for two years. I need to rehome him ASAP at this time due to behaviors coming back up- I have tried my best to work through everything, and I think the solution is a larger environment with property. He doesn't have behavioral issues in large outside spaces. Details further and I can provide full break downs upon serious inquiry. I am seeking AN ENVIRONMENT WITH A LARGE YARD OR PROPERTY. DETAILS: OK WITH DOGS AND PEOPLE WITH SLOW, PROPER INTRODUCTIONS. IN ORDER FOR PEOPLE TO COME INSIDE HE NEEDS A ROOM TO RELAX IN BY HIMSELF OR TO DO SEVERAL JOINT WALKS WITH PEOPLE/DOGS. History of leash reactivity, isolation distress, stranger danger. We have done two years of b-mod work with and without Rx.We have daily routines and physical/mental stimulation with calming routines after.
