Story
FRIEDA ~~ Great Pyrenees, Spayed Female, White with Black Smudges, DOB: 4/15/2024, 79 pounds If you are a lover of giant breeds and Great Pyr's, come meet Frieda. She is a super sweet and sometimes shy girl who is a big fan of other dogs, cats, children, toys, swimming in the pool and would love to meet you! LIKES: Other dogs: We recommend a warming up and "getting to know you" phase for new dogs, but Frieda generally does well with other friendly and non-aggressive dogs. Cats:  LOVES cats Kids:  LOVES kids, even small children FAVORITE ACTIVITIES:  Swimming in the pool, playing with toys -- the noisier the better, loves squishmallows (to carry around), going for car rides, ok on leash but may pull when excited, LOVES hugging everyone and we are still working on not jumping up on people COMMANDS: Frieda knows the following commands: sit, paw, other paw, lay down, wait. ALLERGIES/DIET:  May be allergic to chicken -- and is currently on a lamb based diet. 4 cups per day. FUN FACT:  At meal times, Frieda, has to be told to "wait" and will only start eating with "that'll do." THINGS TO BE AWARE OF: Frieda needs a fenced backyard, as she is an escape artist, like many Pyrs. She will need a tall fence as she is capable of getting over a 4 foot fence. Frieda was recently spayed and microchipped, is up to date on all of her vaccines and vet services and is ready to find her forever home. If you are a huge fan of gentle giant breeds, come meet Frieda and see if she is a perfect match! Her adoption fee is $145 and includes one month of Simparica Trio to go home (for heartworm disease, fleas, ticks, intestinal parasites) and should remain on this preventative once a month for life. Crabapple Knoll Vet Clinic, 12604 Crabapple Road, Alpharetta, GA. 770.475.8272.   Monday to Friday 630AM to 7PM, Saturday & Sunday 8AM to 4PM. We are closed on all major holidays. No appointment is needed to meet any of our adoptable strays. Adoptions are on a first come, first served basis. Please visit at least two hours prior to closing.

Story
Meet Paw! Paw is an 8-month-old Great Pyrenees with a playful spirit and a loving heart. He was surrendered when his family had to move and couldn’t take him along, and now he’s ready for a fresh start. Paw is crate trained, great with kids, and loves playing with other dogs—especially the little ones! He’s still working on housetraining but is a smart boy who already knows “Sit” and “Wait” when he’s focused. With a little guidance and a lot of love, Paw will make a wonderful, loyal companion. We are learning more about all of our new Furkids everyday. We will update once we learn more. Paw currently weighs about 55lbs., is approximately 8 months old (est. birth date 10/16/2024), and his adoption fee is $510. Paw has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. If you want to know more about Paw, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
Creedence is just over a year old and still very much a puppy—just in a larger body! He weighs around 65 pounds and is still filling out, with all the charm and energy of a goofy, lovable young dog. He’s housebroken, crate-trained, food-motivated and full of affection. Creedence enjoys being around people and other dogs, though he’s still learning how to read the room—he may try to keep playing even when another dog is ready for a break. He means well and continues to improve with guidance. He walks nicely on a leash, though he can get excited when he spots another dog—he just wants to make friends and play! While he still has plenty of puppy energy, he also has a pretty good off-switch and is happy to relax when the household is calm. Creedence likes kids and has a sweet, friendly nature, but he can be a bit jumpy and excitable, especially when he’s happy—he may accidentally bump smaller children while trying to give kisses. He does sometimes get carsick, mostly from watching things pass by out the window, but he rides much better when someone is sitting with him and keeping him focused. He also tends to gulp water too quickly which can upset his tummy—a small habit that’s being worked on. Creedence is an affectionate, playful, and slightly anxious boy still learning about the world. He’d love a fenced-in-yard to run and explore, but it’s not a requirement—he’d do just as well with regular walks, playtime, and someone who enjoys including him in daily life. If you're looking for a young dog with lots of love to give and a fun personality to match, Creedence might be your perfect companion! Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies!
