🐾 Meet Duvall — A Handsome Adventurer With a Heart Full of Love! 💙
With his striking blue eyes, beautiful beige-and-white coat, and unforgettable smile, Duvall is one handsome fellow! This 2½-year-old Husky/Great Pyrenees mix weighs about 54 pounds and has plenty of personality, energy, and affection to share.
Duvall's journey began when he was found alone along a roadside late one night. Since then, he's experienced several changes in his living situation through no fault of his own. Now living in a foster home, he's hoping his next chapter will finally bring the stability, understanding, and lasting companionship he deserves. ❤️
🐾 An Adventurer at Heart!
Duvall is intelligent, athletic, playful, and full of enthusiasm for life! He loves walks, outdoor adventures, exploring new places, and activities that challenge both his mind and body.
As a working-breed mix, he thrives with regular exercise, mental enrichment, and opportunities to spend quality time with his people.
He's also house-trained and crate-trained, giving him a wonderful foundation for settling into a home routine.
💕 A Friendly Boy With So Much Love to Give
One of the most wonderful things about Duvall is his sweet, affectionate nature!
Volunteers who know him well describe a genuinely friendly, loving boy who adores belly rubs, gives kisses, and enjoys being close to his favorite people.
Duvall generally does well meeting people and has made plenty of wonderful connections with volunteers and new friends alike.
Like many dogs who have experienced prolonged shelter stays and changes in their living situations, Duvall can occasionally feel overwhelmed in busy or unfamiliar environments. During particularly stressful situations, he has sometimes appeared nervous or unsure around new people.
Those who know him best believe these reactions were largely influenced by the stress and instability he was experiencing at the time, rather than reflecting his usual friendly personality.
Now that Duvall is settling into foster care, we're looking forward to learning even more about how his confidence and social skills continue to develop in a calmer, more consistent environment.
In the meantime, gentle introductions, patience, and allowing Duvall to approach new experiences at his own pace will help him feel comfortable and secure.
🐕 Making Friends and Finding His Comfort Zone
Duvall enjoys playing with other dogs, although his enthusiastic, physical play style can sometimes be overwhelming. He'd do best with confident, well-socialized dogs who enjoy active play and can comfortably match his energy.
Slow, thoughtful introductions are important, and a compatible canine companion could be a wonderful match. Duvall could also be perfectly happy as the only dog in the home.
When it comes to children, Duvall's experiences have been somewhat limited, particularly with very young kids. Because he's an energetic, enthusiastic dog who can occasionally become overwhelmed in unfamiliar situations, a home with older, dog-savvy children would likely be the best fit.
He's had some positive experiences with older children, and those who know him believe he could do very well in a family setting with appropriate introductions, supervision, and an understanding of his needs.
For now, a home without very young children is recommended while we continue learning more about his comfort level in foster care.
Duvall's history with cats is also limited and somewhat mixed. While he has had a calm encounter with a shelter cat, there have also been concerns about chasing or unpredictable behavior around cats in a previous home. To give Duvall the best chance at a successful, lasting placement, a home without cats is recommended.

Duvall is looking for a patient, committed family who appreciates his adventurous spirit and understands the importance of stability and consistency.

A securely fenced yard would be wonderful, although meaningful exercise, engagement, and companionship are just as important.

Duvall has been through more transitions than any young dog should have to experience. But through it all, he's remained a sweet, affectionate, enthusiastic boy with so much love to give.
