Meet Zion! A handsome loveable husky/ lab mix who is in search for a better home. I had him for about 4 years, but due to new landlord conditions I have to find him a new home. It is not a choice I make lightly, he is a sweet boy but also loves his personal space and can be territorial about his earning and space. The reasons for giving him a new home are also because my new place is much smaller and I don’t feel like I have the space to care for him in the way he needs. He’s a goofy boy who just needs more care and attention than what I can give him right now. He would make a good addition for someone without other dogs. He is neutered but is about due for his next round of shots which I will provide before finding his new home.

Quill's adoption fee will be $175. link to application: https://form.jotform.com/230296113596155 PLEASE READ BIOGRAPHY BEFORE APPLYING Meet Quill, he is a 2-4 year old Husky/Akita Mix who came to us after spending most of his life on a chain. He has loved getting to live life to the fullest since coming to our rescue and enjoys his daily walks and runs and playing fetch in the yard with staff. Quill has warmed up well to the staff here at KC PAWS and has particularly bonded with the manager there, it is clear that once he is bonded and trust someone he is a friendly and affectionate dog. However due to his past he sometimes is weary of strangers approaching him. He is not the type of dog that would like being in large crowds or having strangers come up to pet him during walks. He will also need his potential adopter to be willing to do multiple visits with him before adoption. Quill has met a few female dogs that he has gotten along well with, however he does not like to interact with other male dogs especially if they are his size or larger. He would do best with a female dog around his size. He does need a home with no small dogs, or cats. He would not be an appropriate fit for a home with children as he does not like for people to be in his face leaning over him and children on his level would be frightening for him. Quill is a very active, high energy dog and LOVES to run. He would be an excellent match for someone looking for a running, hiking, adventure buddy. Quill is kennel trained and keeps his run at the shelter clean. He also loves to go for car rides. Quill needs an experienced dog owner who will be willing to really work on training and socializing. We are a matched based adoption agency, if you see a dog in our program in which you are interested in adopting, please fill out our online application at kcpaws.org and one of our adoptions counselors will be in touch once your application has been screened. Please note that we do require dogs to meet all members of the family including existing pets in the home before finalizing during your in home adoption. Katmai is heartworm positive and looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt home! She is 2 years old, spayed, 44 pounds, and up to date on all other vetting. Despite her past, Katmai is the sweetest girl on the planet that is full of love! Katmai was found living outside with her 6 puppies on the coldest day of the year! There were multiple reports saying she had been in the area for a while and that the 6 puppies were not her first litter. We quickly jumped to action to get them safe and warm and on their journey to furever homes. The puppies got all their required vetting and went off to their happily ever afters, but poor, sweet Katmai still has another obstacle to overcome in her heartworm treatment. Treating heartworms is a lengthy and expensive process and we are committed to helping her get rid of them! However, she would recover much faster in a home environment rather than our facility. She is sad and stressed in the shelter as she's not used to being cooped up around lots of other animals. She would love nothing more than to have a human to snuggle and adventure with. Oh, the blue eyes! This girl cannot be fooled. She is smart and can be chill or full of spunk depending on her mood. But she is a pleaser, for sure! She has learned to sit patiently until her food is served. She likes to play with her toys, but especially enjoys her foster sister's toys as that seems to pull her sister into playing with her. She knows exactly what to do to engage her playmate! She is house and kenneled trained with very few incidents. While she can be vocal, her protest usually doesn't last long, and she settles quickly. She loves to have a chew toy around to keep her occupied. She is such a sweet girl. We affectionately call her Blue and she is a Beauty. She is sure to be someone's faithful companion. Can you love on her? She will love on you! Blue Bell will come with age-appropriate vaccines, spayed, microchipped and up to date on heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $250. Blue Bell has been treated by our vet for a zinc deficiency. At this time, she is cleared for adoption as it has resolved itself.
