Story
Are you looking for a buddy to sit down with a cup of coffee or a refreshing beverage and have a meaningful conversation? Sure, we all like our alone time, but it’s good for the soul to have a heart-to-heart convo once in a while. If so, we have the boy for you. His name is Aspen, and he is an 8-year-old, 53-pound Siberian Husky. Now, we all know they love to “talk” but our boy will actually answer you! He has his own language, and it consists of lots of “Wee Woos”, as his foster mom refers to them. Since Aspen is a bit mature in age, he doesn't have the high Husky energy level, but he still needs a decent walk twice a day. This boy gets along with other dogs, preferably larger ones. Cats are an unknown at this time. Aspen is housetrained and sleeps quietly in his crate at night. He is working on his leash skills, and with more practice, he will have them down. Aspen does well with all people, and we believe he would be fine with the small humans, too. Wanna run some errands or take a vacay, he’s up for that as he loves his car rides. He knows a few things and is happy to show you, such as sit, shake, and lay down. Aspen requires a 6’ SECURE privacy fence or 6’ chain link fencing. He has spent the majority of his life roaming and being allowed to do so, so he has the itch to run and escape. A family with experience with the Husky breed and familiarity with its qualities would be the best home for Aspen. His foster tells us he truly is the sweetest boy and has the best personality. Aspen is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccinations, and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $175. To talk to, uhm, meet this stud, visit us at PawsitiveTailsKC.org and complete an adoption application. Meet-and-greets will be scheduled with approved adopters. What’s that, Aspen? Oh, he wants us to tell you, Wee Woo! We assume that means he can’t wait to meet you, so fill out that application. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤

Story
☯️ Judy and Athena ☯️ are much like the eastern philosophical idea of yin and yang, the process of the universe: together there is harmony, yet they are each distinct forces. When you need to be in charge of things or get stuff done 📋🔨 Judy will be right by your side to keep everything and everyone in line 👩‍🏫 And when you’re ready to tone it down or relax,🍹✨ let Athena’s happy spirit be your guide to contentment. 🌻🌛 Judy, ☯️ a 5-year-old Cattle Dog mix who weighs 52 pounds, can come off as bossy and a bit aloof, but she warms to people soon enough, and it turns out she loves attention and is affectionate. She’ll bark when she’s unsure about something, which seems to be her way of voicing a concern or asking a question. Athena, ☯️ a 6-year-old Pomsky (Pomeranian + Siberian Husky) who weighs 48 pounds, is a glass-half-full gal who sees the good in everyone instantly. She has a pleasant spark of energy that she brings to her home and people. The ladies follow basic commands well, like sit and leave it, and they do well on the leash. They’re happy to go on car rides or explore wherever you’re headed. At home, they like to play ball or chew on buffalo horns or antlers. They’re also great playmates with other dogs for any type of play. Judy barks when she plays; she must like telling everyone how much fun she’s having 😆 At night, they find their own spots to sleep in the living room. They are both crate trained and house trained. Athena and Judy would do best with a fenced yard. They are both spayed, vaccinated and microchipped, as well as current on heartworm/flea/tick preventatives. Their adoption fee is $175 for both. Meet & greets will be scheduled with approved adopters. 🐕Apply to adopt at PawsitiveTailsKC.org🐕

Story
🐈🐈 Cat-friendly 🐈🐈 “Hey, handsome!” Winston hears that a lot, and it’s not hard to see why. He’s a 5-year-old Siberian Husky (around 46 pounds) with a rare piebald coat – lots of white, with bold patches that make him hard to miss. He has the personality to match. He’s incredibly affectionate, loves giving kisses, and is always up for a “chat” in his cute husky voice. 🗣️ Winston likes to keep tabs on what you’re up to and wants to be part of whatever’s going on (whether you invited him or not). 😄 He was found as a stray and likely didn’t have much structure before, but he’s adjusting well and showing just how sweet and easygoing he can be. He’s about 90% house trained, knows “wait,” and is just starting to learn the basics. Leash walking is new to him, so expect some pulling as he figures it out. He’s also just beginning to show interest in toys, which is pretty fun to watch him realize, “Oh wow, these are actually great.” 🧸 Winston does well with other dogs overall, though he may be selective and can sometimes guard toys or his person. He’s been around cats and may bark, but he’s not aggressive and can be redirected. He’d do best in a home that can offer patience, structure, and plenty of attention. A fenced yard would be ideal, and while he’s not a big fan of crates or getting into the car, he settles once he’s on the move. Right now, Winston is in heartworm treatment, so he’s keeping things pretty low-key for a few more weeks while his body heals. He’s done a great job staying calm, and once he’s cleared, he’ll be ready to ease into a more active routine. Winston is a real stunner – sweet, slightly quirky, and still learning, but already knows how to love. ❤️ Winston’s adoption fee is $175, which includes his neuter, vaccines, microchip and heartworm/flea/tick preventatives. Apply to meet him at PawsitiveTailsKC.org. Meet-and-greets will be scheduled with approved adopters. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤

Story
What did the “Skye” say to the rainbow? You brighten my day! That’s because this amazing girl wants to be the sunshine of your life. ☀️🌈☀️🌈☀️ Skye is a five-year-old Husky with the most stunning crystal blue eyes you’ve ever seen. In addition to being beautiful, she’s a perfect medium-sized ball of joy, wrapped up in a 45lb black, grey, and white package. This happy-go-lucky girl is house-trained, quickly learning crate training because she loves treats as a reward for going in, and she already walks wonderfully on a leash. She also knows commands like sit and kennel, and is promptly catching on to coming when you call her name. Did we mention that she’s also learning to wait? Is there anything this girl isn’t willing to try to make you happy? Not only is Skye super smart and a fast learner, but she’s also got just the right amount of energy to brighten your day—not too much and not too little. She LOVES to spend time playing with the resident dogs in her foster home, running around the back yard and chomping on toys inside. Because of this, we think she would likely be happiest in a home with another active dog. She equally loves attention from humans, though, whether that’s snuggling or just getting pets. Skye is the kind of girl who’s always up for making your day better and wants to be the K9 companion you’ve dreamed of. Although she has not attempted to jump any fences, she will likely need a 5-6-foot fence to avoid unplanned Husky adventures. Skye is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and current on heartworm preventative and flea/tick prevention. The adoption fee is $175, which includes her being the furever sunshine of your life. Apply to adopt her today. Meet and greets will be scheduled with approved adopters from PawsitiveTailsKC.org. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤

Story
🗞️ Get this 🗞️: Sweet baby Kena doesn’t know what to do with herself when she gets excited, so she spins herself around in circles 🎡 It’s the cuuuutest thing, and she is just the sweetest little girl 💕 Kena is a 5-month-old Siberian Husky, and she has such striking red and mahogany markings. She’ll probably be a gorgeous 45-50 pounds. As you can tell, it’s really easy to fall in love with Kena 💘💘 She is a social butterfly with all people and dogs – and she probably would do fine being raised alongside a cat too. She makes friends with kids and does great with them. And she plays so well with other dogs, even understands when to leave them alone. Kena has never met a toy she didn’t like, and she gets goofy and has fun at playtime. Typical of the Husky breed, she has lots of energy to burn, so she’d love lots of time to run and romp in the yard and to go for walks or playdates 🌳🐾🌤️ She’s so easy to get along with, you can take her just about anywhere – plus she does great on car rides, if you like having a passenger princess. 👑 Her zoomies are the cutest, and she makes her people laugh all the time with her antics. She can thrive in just about any active home: with kids, without kids, with another dog, without another dog. She’ll pep up the place and bring smiles to all the faces, no doubt. Because Huskies are typically escape artists, she should have a fenced yard for everyone’s peace of mind. She is crate trained, and she's working on house training. Don’t you want to be able to share your days with this beautiful girl? Kena is spayed, microchipped and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines. She’ll come to you current on heartworm/flea/tick preventative, and her adoption fee is $275. Spin & grins, oops, we mean meet & greets, will be scheduled with approved adopters from PawsitiveTailsKC.org. 🐕Apply at PawsitiveTailsKC.org🐕

Story
Meet Howard 🐾 Howard is an 8-year-old mixed breed with 13 breeds in his DNA… and honestly, it shows. 😂 (Boxer, Chow Chow, Aussie, Border Collie, Lab, Dalmatian… and a little bit of everything else sprinkled in.) He’s basically a one-of-a-kind original. Howard is a quirky, stubborn, independent guy who very much lives by the motto: his way or the highway. But for the right person? He’s a loyal, adventurous companion who just wants to do life by your side (on his terms, of course). 💛 Howard’s Personality Howard is not a social butterfly — he’s a one-person kind of dog. He bonds deeply and prefers a small, predictable world. He’s got big feelings and isn’t shy about sharing them… usually through barking. But honestly? Half the time it’s less “I’m being reactive” and more “I have something to say and you’re going to hear it.” 😂 He’s also a big goofball once you know him, with a personality that keeps you laughing. Just wait until you see him stand on his back legs waiting for treats, it's hilarious. 🌲 What He Loves • Being outdoors and going on adventures (just not in the heat — he’s not about that life). He especially likes if you let him stop and smell alllllll the roses. He really loves to enjoy his surroundings! • A consistent routine • Having his person • Space to decompress and do his own thing 🧠 Training & Behavior Howard is smart, and he loves treats. Consistency is everything with him! • He has barrier reactivity (kennel, doors, leash) and may bark/lunge at bikes or moving cars • He’s working on “leave it” and does well when redirected with high-value treats • Impulse control is key — he needs structure and clear boundaries • He will bark when he’s impatient (like when you’re letting him out of his kennel) — he needs you to wait him out and reward calm behavior. Think of him as a dog who thrives with leadership and routine — not chaos or guesswork. 🏡 Home Requirements Howard is looking for a very specific kind of home where he can truly thrive: • Adult-only home • Only pet — he wants all the attention to himself • Patient, dog-savvy adopter who understands behavior and boundaries • Someone who will respect his space and advocate for him 👋 Meeting New People Howard does best with slow, controlled introductions. He does not appreciate people getting in his space right away. Pro tip: skip the head pats — those are for his inner circle only. Start with butt scratches and let him decide when you’ve made the cut. 😌 Howard isn’t for everyone — and that’s okay. But for the person who gets him? He’s a loyal, hilarious, adventure-loving companion who will absolutely be your ride-or-die. If you’re looking for a dog with personality, opinions, and a whole lot of character… Howard might just be your guy. Howard is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program, which means you can take some time to get to know him in your home before finalizing the adoption. It’s a great way to ensure the perfect fit! ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt.
