I came to Wayside Waifs while I was busy being a mama to my newborn puppies. I’ve done the mom thing… and now it’s my turn to be someone’s baby!I already know some commands (I’m a smart girl, after all!), but my very best trait? My absolute love for people. I adore my humans! I want to be close, leaning into you, following you from room to room, soaking up every bit of attention. If you’re looking for a velcro dog, congratulations… you found her.New situations can make me a little nervous, so I really depend on my trusted people for comfort and reassurance. When I know I’m safe with you, I relax and let my sweet, affectionate personality shine. As he matures, we’re seeing strong Husky and Cattle Dog (Heeler) influence — which means brains, athleticism, and plenty of personality. Yes, he still has the classic “husky commentary” and isn’t shy about sharing his opinions. The foster calls him the drama king — and it fits. But beyond the theatrics, Diesel is very people-oriented and loves being near his humans. After a good play session, he’s happy to settle down close by and keep you company. He does well with other dogs and continues to make great progress in his foster home. He’s learning routines, responds well to guidance, and is building solid house manners with consistency. At his current growth rate, Diesel is expected to mature into a medium-to-large athletic adult (approximately 55–65 lbs). He’ll thrive in a home ready to provide structure, regular exercise, and mental engagement — think walks, playtime, and continued training. This is a smart, expressive, engaging pup who will bond closely with his person.
