Story
Meet Hank 🐾 3-Year-Old Husky/German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois Mix | 65 lbs Some dogs are everyone’s dog. Hank is someone’s once-in-a-lifetime dog. At 65 pounds, Hank is a handsome, incredibly intelligent mix of Siberian Husky (53%), German Shepherd (35%), and Belgian Malinois (11%)—and if you know those breeds, you can probably already guess that this boy is smart, athletic, loyal, and always ready for an adventure. For the last few years, Hank has been a deeply loved member of a family. This is not a rehoming because he wasn't loved. It's a difficult decision being made because Hank needs an environment better suited to his boundaries. Hank can become uncomfortable when startled while sleeping or when someone unexpectedly grabs or restrains him around his head and neck. He communicates that discomfort clearly, but small humans sometimes have difficulty recognizing those signals. Because of this, Hank is looking for an adult-only home. Give Hank the right environment, though, and you get one incredible companion. Hank LOVES other dogs. ❤️ Playing chase might actually be his favorite thing on earth, and so far, good luck catching him! He has happily played with dogs of all sizes and would absolutely love a home with a canine playmate who can help him burn off some of that working-dog energy. True to his breed instincts, Hank has a strong prey drive and has caught squirrels, rabbits, and mice, so no cats, chickens, or other small pets for this guy! Hank is accustomed to an active lifestyle, he loves going for runs, walks, and regular trips to the off-leash dog park. He would thrive with someone who loves hiking, running, exploring, or simply spending lots of time outdoors. Experience with Huskies, Shepherds, Malinois, or other intelligent working breeds would be a huge plus. And the word intelligent to describe Hank might be an understatement. Hank knows his commands, is fully house-trained, can open doors, watches planes fly overhead, and is always paying attention to the world around him. He'll happily hop in the car for an adventure and forms incredibly strong bonds with his people. Once his exercise needs are met, Hank knows how to relax, too. He'll curl up in his favorite chair by the window, nap near his humans, ask for chest scratches and belly rubs, or attempt to convince you that his entire 65-pound body belongs in your lap. He's goofy, expressive, wonderfully gentle when taking treats, and can entertain himself by batting a baby carrot around the house before deciding whether it's actually worth eating. His personality is BIG, and life with Hank comes with plenty of reasons to laugh. Hank's perfect home: 🐾 Adult-only 🐶 Another playful dog would be fantastic 🚫 No cats, chickens, or small animals 🏃 An active lifestyle with plenty of daily exercise 🧠 Someone who enjoys the intelligence and energy of working breeds ❤️ A person who will earn the incredible loyalty he has to give Hank isn't looking for just any home. He's looking for the right home—one where his needs are understood, his boundaries are respected, and all of that intelligence, athleticism, goofiness, and unwavering devotion can shine. For the right person, Hank has all the makings of an extraordinary best friend. 🖤 ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Story
Ares is a playful and sweet one year old Siberian Husky. He was abandoned with me after my ex and I split up. I have tried to make it work so he could stay with me but unfortunately I am unable to keep up with the level of care he requires. I am in school and working and he needs a more stimulating and active lifestyle that I cannot provide for him.

Story
Meet Winter, a beautiful husky mix with a remarkable story of resilience and hope. Winter spent the first part of her life in a puppy mill, where she missed out on many of the experiences that help dogs learn to navigate the world with confidence. Everything was unfamiliar and frightening when she first came into rescue. But every day, Winter shows us just how far she's come. These days, you'll often find her happily carrying around toys, romping through the backyard, and enjoying the simple pleasures of being a dog. One of her biggest accomplishments has been learning to go in and out of the house on her own—a small victory that represents enormous progress for a dog who once found everything new and overwhelming. Winter is still a work in progress, and she needs a patient, understanding family who will celebrate her victories and support her through her challenges. Walks on a leash are still scary, and car rides can be stressful for her. The world remains a big, intimidating place at times, but Winter is learning that not everything is as frightening as it seems. What makes Winter so special is her quiet determination. She may not be the dog who leaps fearlessly into every new adventure, but she faces each day with a little more courage than the day before. Watching her discover joy, confidence, and trust has been nothing short of inspiring. Winter is looking for a home where she can continue her journey at her own pace, surrounded by kindness, patience, and love, as well as a canine companion to show her the ropes. In return, you'll have the privilege of watching a shy dog blossom and become the dog she was always meant to be. The world may still be a little scary for Winter, but with each passing day, it gets a little brighter.

🐾 Meet Sassy — because “perfect” is a pretty good place to start. 💕🐾 Sassy is just under 2 years old and is basically the canine equivalent of that friend who gets along with everyone. Dogs? Yep. Cats? Yep. Kids? Absolutely. Car rides? Let’s go! Kennel? No problem. Leash? She’s got it. And her breed mix? 😂 She’s 30% Husky, 40% Bull Terrier, and the rest is Shepherd + Bluetick Hound. In other words… 100% MUTT and 100% wonderful. Sassy is a total snuggle bug with lovely house manners. She knows all the important stuff — off, load up, jump up/down, wait, leave it, and more — and she’s happy to be part of whatever her people are doing. She’s spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to find her forever family. ❤️ One thing Sassy would really love? Another confident, friendly dog in her new home. Having a canine buddy helps her feel secure and brings out her best self. If you’re looking for a sweet, well-mannered, goofy, cuddly, easy-to-love companion… Sassy may just be your girl. 🐶💕 Come meet this fabulous mutt and prepare to fall in love. ❤️

Story
Meet your new best friend! Yodel is a calm, sweet pup with beautiful facial coloring and a soft, sensitive nature. While she may be timid and reserved in new situations, she is confident at home. This affectionate girl has never met a person she doesn’t love. She knows how to make a person feel loved, showing affection through doggy kisses and being endlessly excited to see you. Yodel enjoys playing with her littermate, but she tends to keep to herself around other dogs and is happy entertaining herself. She can stay busy for hours playing independently or chewing on a bone. She may need a little time to warm up to young children, but she does well once she feels comfortable and secure. She is making great progress with outdoor potty training and when needed, she always uses a puppy pad. Yodel is currently afraid of the leash, but with patience and encouragement, we believe she will grow confident over time. Yodel would do well in a variety of homes and does not require other pets or children to be happy — all she truly needs is a safe place and a loving person or family to bond deeply with. Yodel's adoption fee is $275 and includes age appropriate vaccinations, dewormer, heartworm medication, microchip and spay/neuter surgery. Fill out an adoption application at lucky13rescue.org.

Story
(DDO 8/9/26)My day out with Cheyenne was a good day. It was very hot but she was happy very sweet little girl. a little bit hard on pulling on the leash, but she happily accepted her snacks and hugs and kisses.(DDO 8/3/26) Cheyenne is a sweet, chill girl who absolutely LOVES going through the drive-thru lol look how excited her face is. She really loves chicken nuggets (same, girl) and ate all the treats that came with the DDO bag. (I suspect she was really hungry because it looks like she`s lost a lot of weight from shelter anxiety/not eating? Poor baby - i think she`d be a great candidate for a foster). We took a walk around a pond and she loved getting to smell every blade of grass in the park. She looked at the geese and other dogs with interest, but showed no aggression and didn`t pull towards them. She is absolutely stunning and has these soulful sky blue eyes paired with a reddish brindle coat. I loved getting to take her out; she deserves the very best family!

Story
Meet Howard 🐾 Howard is an 8-year-old mixed breed with 13 breeds in his DNA… and honestly, it shows. 😂 (Boxer, Chow Chow, Aussie, Border Collie, Lab, Dalmatian… and a little bit of everything else sprinkled in.) He’s basically a one-of-a-kind original. Howard is a quirky, stubborn, independent guy who very much lives by the motto: his way or the highway. But for the right person? He’s a loyal, adventurous companion who just wants to do life by your side (on his terms, of course). 💛 Howard’s Personality Howard is not a social butterfly — he’s a one-person kind of dog. He bonds deeply and prefers a small, predictable world. He’s got big feelings and isn’t shy about sharing them… usually through barking. But honestly? Half the time it’s less “I’m being reactive” and more “I have something to say and you’re going to hear it.” 😂 He’s also a big goofball once you know him, with a personality that keeps you laughing. Just wait until you see him stand on his back legs waiting for treats, it's hilarious. 🌲 What He Loves • Being outdoors and going on adventures (just not in the heat — he’s not about that life). He especially likes if you let him stop and smell alllllll the roses. He really loves to enjoy his surroundings! • A consistent routine • Having his person • Space to decompress and do his own thing 🧠 Training & Behavior Howard is smart, and he loves treats. Consistency is everything with him! • He has barrier reactivity (kennel, doors, leash) and may bark/lunge at bikes or moving cars • He’s working on “leave it” and does well when redirected with high-value treats • Impulse control is key — he needs structure and clear boundaries • He will bark when he’s impatient (like when you’re letting him out of his kennel) — he needs you to wait him out and reward calm behavior. Think of him as a dog who thrives with leadership and routine — not chaos or guesswork. 🏡 Home Requirements Howard is looking for a very specific kind of home where he can truly thrive: • Adult-only home • Only pet — he wants all the attention to himself • Patient, dog-savvy adopter who understands behavior and boundaries • Someone who will respect his space and advocate for him 👋 Meeting New People Howard does best with slow, controlled introductions. He does not appreciate people getting in his space right away. Pro tip: skip the head pats — those are for his inner circle only. Start with butt scratches and let him decide when you’ve made the cut. 😌 Howard isn’t for everyone — and that’s okay. But for the person who gets him? He’s a loyal, hilarious, adventure-loving companion who will absolutely be your ride-or-die. If you’re looking for a dog with personality, opinions, and a whole lot of character… Howard might just be your guy. Howard is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program, which means you can take some time to get to know him in your home before finalizing the adoption. It’s a great way to ensure the perfect fit! ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt.
