Story
💙 Meet Duvall Duvall is a striking young Husky/Great Pyrenees mix with unforgettable blue eyes, a gorgeous blonde coat, and an even bigger personality. At just over two years old, he's intelligent, affectionate, athletic, and looking for a family that understands what it means to share life with an energetic working-breed dog. This handsome boy absolutely loves his people. Whether you're heading out for a hike, working in the yard, teaching him something new, or relaxing after a busy day, Duvall wants to be part of whatever you're doing. He's happiest when he has both a job to do and people to love. Like many young working breeds, Duvall isn't a dog who's content with a quick walk around the block. His ideal home will provide daily opportunities for physical exercise and mental enrichment. Long walks, hiking adventures, training sessions, puzzle toys, scent games, fetch, and structured play all help keep his active mind and body satisfied. When his needs are met, Duvall is an incredibly rewarding companion. Duvall also enjoys other dogs—but he's still polishing his social skills. His play style is enthusiastic, physical, and sometimes a bit overwhelming. He would do best with confident, well-socialized dogs his size or larger that enjoy active play and are comfortable setting appropriate canine boundaries. Any introductions to resident dogs should be done slowly and thoughtfully, allowing everyone time to adjust and build positive relationships. Rushing introductions or expecting instant friendships simply isn't fair to Duvall or his future canine companions. Because of his intelligence, energy, and size, Duvall is looking for adopters who are committed to continuing his training and helping him succeed. Consistency, structure, and positive reinforcement will go a long way with this eager-to-learn boy. Experience with working breeds is a plus, but more important is a willingness to invest the time and energy needed to help him thrive. A securely fenced yard would be wonderful, but it's not a substitute for exercise, enrichment, and engagement. Duvall is looking for a family that sees their dog as a true partner in life's adventures—not just a pet who spends most of the day entertaining himself. Duvall has already experienced more transitions than any young dog should. What he needs now is a family committed to giving him the time, patience, guidance, and outlets he deserves. In return, you'll gain a loyal, loving, intelligent companion who will happily join you on every adventure for years to come. If you're ready for an active, devoted best friend and understand the unique needs of a young working-breed dog, Duvall can't wait to meet you. 💙🐾 P.S. Duvall is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program, which means you can take some time to get to know him in your home before finalizing the adoption. It’s a great way to ensure the perfect fit! ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Once approved, we’ll work with you to ensure it’s a great fit—and if it’s not, no worries! We’ll help you find the right match. I love activities and would benefit from a home where I am provided with lots of enrichment and stimulation to keep me occupied and entertained (I LOVE toys). If you have a yard that I can run around in thats even better! Since Im a bit on the shy side with people I would love a family who will give me time and help me grow!

I know Id love the chance to meet you. Hi, Im Loki!

If youre looking for a best friend with a big heart and an even bigger love for people, I might just be your guy. Im what youd call a gentle giant. I love attention and am always happy to make new friends. Adults, kids, strangers, neighbors, it doesnt matter to me. Everyone is a potential friend! Im especially great with little kids and enjoy being part of the action without losing my cool.

Im known for having a calm, polite temperament, and I take pride in my good manners. I do well in my kennel, enjoy spending time with my people, and am happy to relax when its time to settle down. Im the kind of dog who can go with the flow and make himself right at home.

Now, dont let my laid-back side fool you. I still have a playful streak! My favorite activity is fetch, and I never turn down the chance to chase after a ball and show off my retrieving skills. Ive been described as the perfect mix of cuddle bug and energetic companion, which means Im just as happy playing with you as I am curling up beside you for some quality snuggle time.

Im looking for a forever family who wants a loyal, loving companion to share lifes adventures and quiet moments with. If youre searching for a sweet, well-mannered pup who loves everyone he meets, I think we could be a perfect match.

Love,
Loki

Story
Meet Harrington (Harry)! Harrington is an 8-month-old Husky mix weighing about 60 pounds, and he's everything you love about a teenage Husky—funny, goofy, affectionate, and full of personality. With his striking blue eyes, long legs, and playful spirit, Harry turns heads wherever he goes. Like any young Husky, Harry enjoys staying busy. He loves carrying toys around, digging treasures out of the toy basket, batting them across the room, and occasionally showing off a few zoomies. The good news? Once he's had a chance to burn off some energy, he's surprisingly mellow and happy to relax with his people. Harry is house trained and has done well having free roam in his foster home. He walks nicely on leash and is learning his basic commands. He's a smart boy who enjoys learning and responds well to guidance. When his foster home's resident dogs correct him, he takes it in stride and quickly adjusts his behavior. In fact, he adores other dogs and would likely enjoy having a canine companion to play with, though it's not required. One of Harry's favorite things is spending time with his people. He's a true cuddlebug who loves hugs, bedtime pets, and being close to his family. While he'll happily hop on the bed to say goodnight, he usually chooses a cool spot on the bathroom tile when it's time to sleep. Harry is still polishing up a few puppy manners, including resisting the temptation of unattended people food and sharing his beloved stuffed toys. He's making great progress and approaches life with an eager-to-please attitude. His ideal home will understand that Huskies are intelligent, active dogs who thrive with daily exercise, mental enrichment, and companionship. Harry doesn't need to run marathons, but he will appreciate regular walks, playtime, and opportunities to use that smart Husky brain. All Heart of America Humane Society dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Adoption fee is $250. Story
Meet Winter, a beautiful husky mix with a remarkable story of resilience and hope. Winter spent the first part of her life in a puppy mill, where she missed out on many of the experiences that help dogs learn to navigate the world with confidence. Everything was unfamiliar and frightening when she first came into rescue. But every day, Winter shows us just how far she's come. These days, you'll often find her happily carrying around toys, romping through the backyard, and enjoying the simple pleasures of being a dog. One of her biggest accomplishments has been learning to go in and out of the house on her own—a small victory that represents enormous progress for a dog who once found everything new and overwhelming. Winter is still a work in progress, and she needs a patient, understanding family who will celebrate her victories and support her through her challenges. Walks on a leash are still scary, and car rides can be stressful for her. The world remains a big, intimidating place at times, but Winter is learning that not everything is as frightening as it seems. What makes Winter so special is her quiet determination. She may not be the dog who leaps fearlessly into every new adventure, but she faces each day with a little more courage than the day before. Watching her discover joy, confidence, and trust has been nothing short of inspiring. Winter is looking for a home where she can continue her journey at her own pace, surrounded by kindness, patience, and love, as well as a canine companion to show her the ropes. In return, you'll have the privilege of watching a shy dog blossom and become the dog she was always meant to be. The world may still be a little scary for Winter, but with each passing day, it gets a little brighter.

Story
Meet Beira! Beira is a beautiful young husky mix with a heart as big as her smile. At about 1 year old and 36 pounds, she's the perfect medium-sized companion for an active family looking for a fun-loving best friend. Beira is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and her adoption fee is $250. This sweet girl loves everyone she meets and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She would thrive in a home where she can stay active, make friends, and be included in family adventures. Whether it's walks, hikes, playdates, or simply exploring the world together, Beira is always ready to join the fun. Like many young husky mixes, Beira is athletic and full of energy. She definitely has springs in her feet and has been known to clear a fence, so she should always be supervised when spending time in a backyard. Story
Meet Howard 🐾 Howard is an 8-year-old mixed breed with 13 breeds in his DNA… and honestly, it shows. 😂 (Boxer, Chow Chow, Aussie, Border Collie, Lab, Dalmatian… and a little bit of everything else sprinkled in.) He’s basically a one-of-a-kind original. Howard is a quirky, stubborn, independent guy who very much lives by the motto: his way or the highway. But for the right person? He’s a loyal, adventurous companion who just wants to do life by your side (on his terms, of course). 💛 Howard’s Personality Howard is not a social butterfly — he’s a one-person kind of dog. He bonds deeply and prefers a small, predictable world. He’s got big feelings and isn’t shy about sharing them… usually through barking. But honestly? Half the time it’s less “I’m being reactive” and more “I have something to say and you’re going to hear it.” 😂 He’s also a big goofball once you know him, with a personality that keeps you laughing. Just wait until you see him stand on his back legs waiting for treats, it's hilarious. 🌲 What He Loves • Being outdoors and going on adventures (just not in the heat — he’s not about that life). He especially likes if you let him stop and smell alllllll the roses. He really loves to enjoy his surroundings! • A consistent routine • Having his person • Space to decompress and do his own thing 🧠 Training & Behavior Howard is smart, and he loves treats. Consistency is everything with him! • He has barrier reactivity (kennel, doors, leash) and may bark/lunge at bikes or moving cars • He’s working on “leave it” and does well when redirected with high-value treats • Impulse control is key — he needs structure and clear boundaries • He will bark when he’s impatient (like when you’re letting him out of his kennel) — he needs you to wait him out and reward calm behavior. Think of him as a dog who thrives with leadership and routine — not chaos or guesswork. 🏡 Home Requirements Howard is looking for a very specific kind of home where he can truly thrive: • Adult-only home • Only pet — he wants all the attention to himself • Patient, dog-savvy adopter who understands behavior and boundaries • Someone who will respect his space and advocate for him 👋 Meeting New People Howard does best with slow, controlled introductions. He does not appreciate people getting in his space right away. Pro tip: skip the head pats — those are for his inner circle only. Start with butt scratches and let him decide when you’ve made the cut. 😌 Howard isn’t for everyone — and that’s okay. But for the person who gets him? He’s a loyal, hilarious, adventure-loving companion who will absolutely be your ride-or-die. If you’re looking for a dog with personality, opinions, and a whole lot of character… Howard might just be your guy. Howard is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program, which means you can take some time to get to know him in your home before finalizing the adoption. It’s a great way to ensure the perfect fit! ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt.
