Story
Meet Boo! Don’t worry — these little Monsters are more about cuddles than scares! Meet the Monsters, Inc. litter, a group of playful, lovable, and totally adorable husky mix puppies named after your favorite characters from the beloved movie. These little loveable “scare” experts are ready to bring joy, laughter, and plenty of puppy kisses into your life. But be warned—once you meet them, your heart will be monstrously full! Just like her Monsters, Inc. namesake, Boo is a curious, loving, and playful little pup who will steal your heart in an instant! Boo's past is a bit of a mystery but we believe she experienced unkind interactions with humans, so she is bit timid at first. She needs someone who is willing to meet her where she is, understands that she needs time and patience, and is invested in continuing to support confidence building and positive associations with humans. She may start off a bit shy, but once she warms up, she’s an affectionate, snuggly lovebug who adores pets, cuddles, and gentle playtime. Boo enjoys a balanced mix of play and rest, spending her days exploring her environment, climbing on things, and soaking up all the love from her humans. Boo enjoys playtime, snuggles, and naps in equal measure. Boo a smart girl who already knows many basic commands like "sit", "down", "stay", and "come." She is working on potty training, wearing a collar, leash training, and crate training. She’s friendly with people and other animals but appreciates a little patience when meeting new friends. With a calm and consistent routine, she’ll thrive in just about any home environment — whether it’s with a quiet, laid-back family or a more active household. This girl has made so much progress already and is ready to take on the world with someone who is dedicated to her training and socialization. Adoption is $325, which includes spay/neuter at our vet when age appropriate, vaccines to date of adoption, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Meet Ramona – The Blue-Eyed Beauty With a Heart of Gold With her striking blue eyes and joyful energy, Ramona doesn’t just walk into a room—she lights it up. But behind that show-stopping face is a heart just as dazzling. This one-year-old mama has already raised a litter and is now embracing her chance to finally live life for herself. And what she wants more than anything is a person (or family) to share it all with. Ramona is the full package: playful, affectionate, and incredibly smart. She’s thriving in her foster home, where she’s learning quickly and soaking up every bit of love and structure. She’s crate trained, nearly fully potty trained, and picking up new commands with ease. Her recall is fantastic, and her eagerness to please makes her a breeze to train—especially when treats are involved. She’s the kind of dog who’s always up for fun. Whether it’s a game of fetch, a long walk, or a zoomie session in the yard, Ramona brings a contagious enthusiasm to everything she does. But she’s also deeply loyal and loving, happiest when she’s close to her people, soaking up attention and affection. Dog-friendly and wonderful with kids, Ramona is ready for a family that will match her energy, nurture her bright spirit, and offer her the companionship she’s always deserved. She’s more than just a pretty face—she’s a best friend in the making. If you’re ready to welcome joy, loyalty, and a little bounce into your life, Ramona’s ready to meet you. Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home. Lawnmower A14807756 lb. neutered male, approx 4 years old Grade 2-Walks well on a leash with no pulling-He was content to explore the yard outside. He would come over to check in repeatedly.-Not interested in playing with toys currently-Enjoys pets and giving very gentle kisses-Likes treats but not super motivated by them. Knows “sit” and takes snacks nicely.-He’s a calmer, older guy-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids•Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit

We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time!
