Story
Hi there! I’m basically your shadow with four legs and a wagging tail. If you’re looking for a dog who believes personal space is wildly overrated, I’m your girl. My favorite place in the world is right next to my person — on the couch, in the hammock, on a walk, supervising you in the kitchen, or curled up beside you while you relax. I’m a calm, affectionate sweetheart who loves cuddles just as much as I love making people laugh. If you pet me, I will absolutely lean my whole body into you like it’s my full-time job. I’m pretty laid back around the house and totally content lounging nearby with a puzzle toy or squeaky ball, but don’t let that fool you — I also love adventures! Walks are my favorite thing ever, and I’m happy no matter how long they are. I enjoy runs, sniffing new things, and playing fetch… although I like to add my own special version called “keep away first, fetch second.” One of my funniest habits is proudly bringing my toy back by casually walking past you first like I’m in a parade before finally handing it over. I’m super curious, confident around traffic and new environments, and smart enough to figure just about anything out… which brings us to my next disclaimer. I’m an extremely talented escape artist. Seriously. Houdini would be impressed. I love my people so much that being left alone is very hard for me, and I do have separation anxiety. If no one is around, I may sing you the saddest songs of my people while trying to engineer my escape from even the toughest kennel setup. But if someone is nearby? I can happily relax in my kennel all day without making a peep. Because of that, I’d thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time — work-from-home humans, stay-at-home families, retirees, or anyone who wants a constant companion would be my dream come true. I should also confess that I’m a bit of a counter surfer and opportunistic snack thief, so keeping food out of reach is definitely part of loving me! I’m potty trained on a schedule, though may have the occasional accident if unattended. I am great on leash, and I already know how to kennel on command once I trust you. I adore kids and greet everyone with excited tail wags and play bows, but I should mention I don’t quite understand that tiny humans may not appreciate surprise face kisses and enthusiastic jumping. I do best with male dogs and should avoid living with other female dogs as I have had past guarding behavior. I can not share my space with cats or other small pets.  I’m just a goofy, stubborn, loving girl who wants to be adored as much as I adore my people. Give me your attention, your couch, and a secure “Alcatraz-level” kennel setup, and I’ll give you endless love, loyalty, laughs, and companionship in return.

Story
Meet Rockii! Your Goofy, Cuddle-Bug Companion! Get ready to fall in love with Rockii, an irresistible, playful puppy just waiting to join your family! This affectionate boy is the epitome of puppy charm – full of energy for playtime, followed by plenty of cozy naps, and he sleeps soundly through the night. Rockii is a true people-dog, always wanting to be right by your side. He’ll happily perch on the chair with you, showering you with loving kisses and engaging you in a delightful game with his favorite squeaky toys, balls, and bones. Rockii is a social butterfly! He greets everyone he meets with an enthusiastic wag of his tail and has been wonderfully socialized with a variety of animals, including cats and older dogs. Having grown up alongside felines, he’s practically unfazed by them. He’s also a champion at adapting to a bustling household, unbothered by loud children, lawnmowers, or vacuums. Car rides are a breeze, and he absolutely adores being held like a baby – a truly adorable sight! This intelligent boy already knows "sit" and is treat-motivated, making training a joy. He understands "come" when called and is well on his way to being fully potty-trained. Rockii loves wrestling with his siblings and would thrive in a home with another pet for companionship. With his friendly nature and moderate energy, Rockii (who has a charming boxer/pitbull-like face) would be the perfect goofy, playful addition to a family with kids or any active home seeking a loving new friend. He can’t wait to meet you! ---- *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue. We cannot guarantee the breed or size they will be full grown.*

Story
Location: Prior Lake, MN Hi, I’m Tonie! I’m just one big happy girl who is eager to please and play. I recently arrived from the Rez and really enjoy running around the yard getting my zoomies out. I am starting to play catch with my foster mom, and really loving playing with toys. I have some energy, so an active family will be best for me to thrive. I can also be relaxed, and love to chew on a bone and take a good nap in the sun. Especially on the chillier days I love sleeping outside, it feels like home. I’m am very dog friendly, eager to make friends and have play dates. I am so happy to be safe and loved. I have grown fond of the kids here and they love to play with calling me the “husky police dog. ” I am working on my training - learning to not be so jumpy and to sit! I have a lot of motivation to listen to commands and come to my name very well. I’m continuing my crate training but do very well in my own area with a bed. Overall, I am such a spunky happy girl with a lot of potential to grow into a fantastic dog with some good training and lots of love. If you’re looking for a fun, happy go lucky girl, then that could be me! --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
Location: Beresford, SD Shalla is an old soul with a youthful heart. There’s a gentle wisdom about her that’s apparent the moment you see her—but step closer, and she’ll happily surprise you with joyful hops and rapid‑fire kisses. She’s the kind of dog who reminds you that some hearts stay forever young. Shalla has spent much of her life being a devoted mama, and now it’s her turn to be cared for. And care for her you will—because she is stunning. From her beautifully lined eyes to her glowing golden coat, she turns heads wherever she goes. We aren’t quite sure of her breed, but she has the majestic face of a wolf paired with big, elegant paws—though she’s not especially tall. Her coat is thick, sleek, and surprisingly easy to maintain considering how full it is. Shalla would thrive in a home with people around most of the time. She loves kids and enjoys being part of the action. She’s polite with other dogs—she likes them well enough but doesn’t necessarily need a canine companion to be happy. What she does need is togetherness. Shalla doesn’t love being alone, and adopters should be prepared to use a heavy‑duty crate and possibly medication when away from home. Aside from that, she is an amazing, well‑behaved dog who simply wants to be close to her people. And yes—we know you’re wondering—she has had zero accidents. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will soak up every moment by your side, Shalla is ready to finally be someone’s “baby.” --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Name: Yuki Sex: Female Color: Isabella White Eye Color: Brown Birthday: 11/15/20 Weight: 49lbs Large Dog Friendly: Yes, good with new dogs she meets. Does best with male dogs. Small Dog Friendly: So far, she has been good with the few smaller dogs she has met on leash. Cat Friendly: NO - very high prey drive. Crate Trained: Very short periods of time, and only while we are home. Trusted to free roam when we’re not home, but our home is pretty much husky-proof. Has a history of harming herself when crated in her first foster home. Housebroken: Yes, she will let you know when she needs to go out. Energy Level: She has her calm times and long naps, and she also gets zoomies and loves to play rough a few times a day like most huskies. She loves walks and loves to be outside watching squirrels or bunnies in a fenced yard. Reaction to New People: Good with adults and older kids. Working on manners and socialization. Kid Friendly: Older, calmer kids are best for her. Smaller children make her nervous, especially if they get too close too fast. Training: She knows the basics; sits before getting her food dish and is pretty good at coming when called. Could use some better leash manners but has improved. She really wants to meet and play with other friendly dogs on walks. She would likely benefit from some socialization to gain confidence in new/public situations. Like most huskies, she is a runner, so caution by the doors and getting in and out of the car is needed. Grooming Needs: Normal husky coat brushing about once a week or so, more when blowing her coat. She does shed less than other huskies we’ve had, her fur is on the shorter side which helps. Does okay with baths but only needs that once or twice a year. Gets dirty while playing, but the dirt tends to fall off quickly – it’s a husky thing. Fence: Yuki would do best with at least a 4-foot-high fence, 6 feet would be better. She loves to be outside; rain or snow do not bother her much. She hasn’t tried to dig out lately but is a true husky escape artist so should be supervised even with a fence! Solo or Siblings: Yuki would do best with a male dog with lots of energy to match hers in play. Preferably male husky (or other high energy dog) around her age or younger. Once she got comfortable in her foster home, she started being less tolerant of female dogs in the home. We’ve been working on that. She could also do well as a solo dog, with lots of play and attention to get her energy out. From the Foster: Yuki is a sweet, furry little princess who loves attention and belly rubs. She has her relaxation times and has her zoomies and loves to play. She’s a bit shy and hesitant in new situations and would benefit from socialization and group training class. Like a typical husky, she loves to run, climb, jump etc, so may also benefit from joring or agility classes. She loves attention and belly rubs; she will lay on her back and paw at you or reach out to you for more if you stop. She is quite a talker, like many huskies are, and when the neighborhood dogs bark, she howls to join in. She is an all-around adventurous, loving, curious and goofy girl who may be shy and nervous at first, but who settles in fairly quickly to be her true husky self. She would love to have a more mature human or family to experience life with, and to help her learn to enjoy the world

Story
Name: Borris Sex: Male Color: Black & White Eye Color: Bi-Eyes, one blue/one brown Birthday: 04/25/2022 Weight: 67 lbs Large Dog Friendly: Yes Small Dog Friendly: Yes Cat Friendly: Not really, he doesn't want to eat them, from what we can tell, but he is way too interested for comfort. Crate Trained: No, we are working on this. He will do short stints (10 min or so) while he is eating, or if we are practicing, but he is extremely vocal and unsettled if put in kennel for any longer period of time. Currently he is sleeping with his foster parents in their bed or on the floor in the room. Housebroken: Yes. He had one poo accident in his foster's home the very first night within a few mintes of arriving, otherwise, he has not had an accident in his fosters home. Energy Level: Medium - He can be very high energy at mealtimes and on walks, but he also loves to curl up on the couch and chill. Reaction to New People: Curious, friendly, wants to meet and get pets. Kid Friendly: Seems to be; fosters don't have children, but the children he has interacted with on walks he seems to have been fine with. Training: Knows sit, shake, other and, 'sometimes' stay. Grooming Needs: Shorter husky coat. Typical husky grooming should be expected. Fence: Highly recommend. His fosters have a 6' fence and that has been fine. He digs when he is bored. Solo or Siblings: Either would work. He really likes to have his foster sister around, she seems to settle him somewhat from his seperation anxiety. From the Foster: Boris is a sweet, sweet boy. He is a total lap dog, loves to lay on the couch or on the bed with his people and at times can be a very 'demaning' cuddler. We feed him and his foster sister seperatly, and that seems to work well. We recently introduced toys while the two of them are together and that seems to be going well. Boris loves to go for walks and car rides. He loves to spend time outside as well as chilling inside. We took him to a dog friendly restaurant and he did well. Took him a little bit to settle down, but then he was about as polite as a 3.5 year old husky can be expected to be. While we don't know his full background, we believe he had a bonded sister at one point. He does not like being left alone, especially in a kennel. He gets very upset and vocal. Boris would be a great addition to a family in need of a silly, sweet, cuddly and sometimes chaotic husky! Adoption Fee: $350 All dogs coming into Adopt a Husky Minnesota receive care tailored to their needs, including: Nose-to-tail exam with a partner veterinarian, Vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella), 4DX test to check for heartworm or tick exposure, Fecal Analysis, Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative, Spay/Neuter prior to adoption, Microchip, and are evaluated for temperament and trainability.

Story
Name: Salome Sex: Female Color: Black & White Eye Color: Blue Birthday: 07/29/17 Weight: 46lbs Large Dog Friendly: She is still a little afraid, but she would much rather be around the size dogs as herself. Small Dog Friendly: Yes - she just doesn't know what to think of them yet - we are introducing her to more smaller breeds via neighbors and she does well with them so far. Cat Friendly: Yes, she’s great with the cats in her foster home! Crate Trained: She is trained, she does still need positive reinforcement to get into the kennel - (lead training into the crate but once she is in there she is ok) she does howl ever so often when she is in the kennel so not ideal for Apartment living situations. Housebroken: yes, she is a former breeder dog. From time to time, she has accidents, but they are easily corrected. She is much better now! Energy Level: Mellow/Chill Reaction to New People: Howler but friendly. Kid Friendly: A home without young children would be best for Salome, 12 and older would be ideal. Loud or fast movements are scary for her. Training: walk on leash, inside. Still working on sit, stay and lay. Grooming Needs: weekly brushing - she loves the vacuum brush. Fence: 5 ft or privacy recommended! Solo or Siblings: She is being fostered with a 7-month-old, they get along, but a little too much for her. Highly recommend a sibling that is 3+ years old. She would also do just fine Solo. From the Foster: Salome’s Journey 💕 Salome has truly come a long way. When she first came into care, she didn’t know what love was, what it meant to be a dog, or how to feel safe in a home. With time, patience, and gentle care, she’s started to discover the simple joys she once missed out on.She enjoys her walks and prefers to stay right by your side rather than pull ahead. She’s learned how cozy a dog bed can be and now loves curling up for naps. The kennel isn’t her favorite, but she’ll go in if she needs to. In the mornings, she greets the day with a little bark or happy chatter—just to be noticed and loved. Once she gets that bit of attention, she’s content. She’s also good at letting you know when it’s time to go outside, either by sitting by the door or giving a soft bark. Salome still has a journey ahead of her, but she’s shown so much strength and heart already. We believe she’ll make a wonderful companion for the right family—whether as a solo dog or with an older, calm sibling. She’s a bit shy around children at first and appreciates having her quiet space and rest time. She’s a gentle soul with so much love to give. Every now and then she has playful little moments that make us smile—still learning that it’s okay to be carefree. We’re so proud of how far she’s come, and can’t wait to see where her journey leads next. ❤️ Adoption Fee: $275 All dogs coming into Adopt a Husky Minnesota receive care tailored to their needs, including: Nose-to-tail exam with a partner veterinarian, Vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Leptospirosis, Bordetella), 4DX test to check for heartworm or tick exposure, Fecal Analysis, Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative, Spay/Neuter prior to adoption, Microchip, and are evaluated for temperament and trainability.
