Story
Mya was 1 year old when we adopted her in 2022. She’s a good Girl. We adopted her for our daughters. With one child heading off to college and one who is crazy busy all the time we just don’t have the time to give Mya the attention she deserves. Mya does just about anything for a treat. She knows how to sit, lay down, target, shake, and many other fun tricks. She is potty trained. She never has an accident inside even when our busy schedules neglect to let her out properly. She loves pets and people. She is great with our girls and loves to run around and play with her stuffy. She doesn’t jump on people or growl. She does bark occasionally but it’s a one time bark to let you know she needs to go potty. We love Mya and we just want to see her go to a good home who will love her as well. Somewhere with a fenced yard she can run and play. A home that will give her lots of love and attention. All the things she used to get here before our lives got so busy.

Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Name: Yuki Sex: Female Color: Isabella White Eye Color: Brown Birthday: 11/15/20 Weight: 49lbs Large Dog Friendly: Yes, good with new dogs she meets. Does best with male dogs. Small Dog Friendly: So far, she has been good with the few smaller dogs she has met on leash. Cat Friendly: NO - very high prey drive. Crate Trained: Very short periods of time, and only while we are home. Trusted to free roam when we’re not home, but our home is pretty much husky-proof. Has a history of harming herself when crated in her first foster home. Housebroken: Yes, she will let you know when she needs to go out. Energy Level: She has her calm times and long naps, and she also gets zoomies and loves to play rough a few times a day like most huskies. She loves walks and loves to be outside watching squirrels or bunnies in a fenced yard. Reaction to New People: Good with adults and older kids. Working on manners and socialization. Kid Friendly: Older, calmer kids are best for her. Smaller children make her nervous, especially if they get too close too fast. Training: She knows the basics; sits before getting her food dish and is pretty good at coming when called. Could use some better leash manners but has improved. She really wants to meet and play with other friendly dogs on walks. She would likely benefit from some socialization to gain confidence in new/public situations. Like most huskies, she is a runner, so caution by the doors and getting in and out of the car is needed. Grooming Needs: Normal husky coat brushing about once a week or so, more when blowing her coat. She does shed less than other huskies we’ve had, her fur is on the shorter side which helps. Does okay with baths but only needs that once or twice a year. Gets dirty while playing, but the dirt tends to fall off quickly – it’s a husky thing. Fence: Yuki would do best with at least a 4-foot-high fence, 6 feet would be better. She loves to be outside; rain or snow do not bother her much. She hasn’t tried to dig out lately but is a true husky escape artist so should be supervised even with a fence! Solo or Siblings: Yuki would do best with a male dog with lots of energy to match hers in play. Preferably male husky (or other high energy dog) around her age or younger. Once she got comfortable in her foster home, she started being less tolerant of female dogs in the home. We’ve been working on that. She could also do well as a solo dog, with lots of play and attention to get her energy out. From the Foster: Yuki is a sweet, furry little princess who loves attention and belly rubs. She has her relaxation times and has her zoomies and loves to play. She’s a bit shy and hesitant in new situations and would benefit from socialization and group training class. Like a typical husky, she loves to run, climb, jump etc, so may also benefit from joring or agility classes. She loves attention and belly rubs; she will lay on her back and paw at you or reach out to you for more if you stop. She is quite a talker, like many huskies are, and when the neighborhood dogs bark, she howls to join in. She is an all-around adventurous, loving, curious and goofy girl who may be shy and nervous at first, but who settles in fairly quickly to be her true husky self. She would love to have a more mature human or family to experience life with, and to help her learn to enjoy the world

Story
Name: Borris Sex: Male Color: Black & White Eye Color: Bi-Eyes, one blue/one brown Birthday: 04/25/2022 Weight: 67 lbs Large Dog Friendly: Yes Small Dog Friendly: Yes Cat Friendly: Not really, he doesn't want to eat them, from what we can tell, but he is way too interested for comfort. Crate Trained: No, we are working on this. He will do short stints (10 min or so) while he is eating, or if we are practicing, but he is extremely vocal and unsettled if put in kennel for any longer period of time. Currently he is sleeping with his foster parents in their bed or on the floor in the room. Housebroken: Yes. He had one poo accident in his foster's home the very first night within a few mintes of arriving, otherwise, he has not had an accident in his fosters home. Energy Level: Medium - He can be very high energy at mealtimes and on walks, but he also loves to curl up on the couch and chill. Reaction to New People: Curious, friendly, wants to meet and get pets. Kid Friendly: Seems to be; fosters don't have children, but the children he has interacted with on walks he seems to have been fine with. Training: Knows sit, shake, other and, 'sometimes' stay. Grooming Needs: Shorter husky coat. Typical husky grooming should be expected. Fence: Highly recommend. His fosters have a 6' fence and that has been fine. He digs when he is bored. Solo or Siblings: Either would work. He really likes to have his foster sister around, she seems to settle him somewhat from his seperation anxiety. From the Foster: Boris is a sweet, sweet boy. He is a total lap dog, loves to lay on the couch or on the bed with his people and at times can be a very 'demaning' cuddler. We feed him and his foster sister seperatly, and that seems to work well. We recently introduced toys while the two of them are together and that seems to be going well. Boris loves to go for walks and car rides. He loves to spend time outside as well as chilling inside. We took him to a dog friendly restaurant and he did well. Took him a little bit to settle down, but then he was about as polite as a 3.5 year old husky can be expected to be. While we don't know his full background, we believe he had a bonded sister at one point. He does not like being left alone, especially in a kennel. He gets very upset and vocal. Boris would be a great addition to a family in need of a silly, sweet, cuddly and sometimes chaotic husky! Adoption Fee: $350 All dogs coming into Adopt a Husky Minnesota receive care tailored to their needs, including: Nose-to-tail exam with a partner veterinarian, Vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella), 4DX test to check for heartworm or tick exposure, Fecal Analysis, Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative, Spay/Neuter prior to adoption, Microchip, and are evaluated for temperament and trainability.

Story
Name: Salome Sex: Female Color: Black & White Eye Color: Blue Birthday: 07/29/17 Weight: 46lbs Large Dog Friendly: She is still a little afraid, but she would much rather be around the size dogs as herself. Small Dog Friendly: Yes - she just doesn't know what to think of them yet - we are introducing her to more smaller breeds via neighbors and she does well with them so far. Cat Friendly: Yes, she’s great with the cats in her foster home! Crate Trained: She is trained, she does still need positive reinforcement to get into the kennel - (lead training into the crate but once she is in there she is ok) she does howl ever so often when she is in the kennel so not ideal for Apartment living situations. Housebroken: yes, she is a former breeder dog. From time to time, she has accidents, but they are easily corrected. She is much better now! Energy Level: Mellow/Chill Reaction to New People: Howler but friendly. Kid Friendly: A home without young children would be best for Salome, 12 and older would be ideal. Loud or fast movements are scary for her. Training: walk on leash, inside. Still working on sit, stay and lay. Grooming Needs: weekly brushing - she loves the vacuum brush. Fence: 5 ft or privacy recommended! Solo or Siblings: She is being fostered with a 7-month-old, they get along, but a little too much for her. Highly recommend a sibling that is 3+ years old. She would also do just fine Solo. From the Foster: Salome’s Journey 💕 Salome has truly come a long way. When she first came into care, she didn’t know what love was, what it meant to be a dog, or how to feel safe in a home. With time, patience, and gentle care, she’s started to discover the simple joys she once missed out on.She enjoys her walks and prefers to stay right by your side rather than pull ahead. She’s learned how cozy a dog bed can be and now loves curling up for naps. The kennel isn’t her favorite, but she’ll go in if she needs to. In the mornings, she greets the day with a little bark or happy chatter—just to be noticed and loved. Once she gets that bit of attention, she’s content. She’s also good at letting you know when it’s time to go outside, either by sitting by the door or giving a soft bark. Salome still has a journey ahead of her, but she’s shown so much strength and heart already. We believe she’ll make a wonderful companion for the right family—whether as a solo dog or with an older, calm sibling. She’s a bit shy around children at first and appreciates having her quiet space and rest time. She’s a gentle soul with so much love to give. Every now and then she has playful little moments that make us smile—still learning that it’s okay to be carefree. We’re so proud of how far she’s come, and can’t wait to see where her journey leads next. ❤️ Adoption Fee: $275 All dogs coming into Adopt a Husky Minnesota receive care tailored to their needs, including: Nose-to-tail exam with a partner veterinarian, Vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Leptospirosis, Bordetella), 4DX test to check for heartworm or tick exposure, Fecal Analysis, Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative, Spay/Neuter prior to adoption, Microchip, and are evaluated for temperament and trainability.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Name: Luka Sex: Male Color: Black & White Eye Color: Blue Birthday: 03/22/2022 (estimated) Weight: 60lbs Large Dog Friendly: Yes, he has done great with all dogs. He has been in doggie daycare and socialized with many dogs. Small Dog Friendly: Yes, he has done great with all dogs. He has been in doggie daycare and socialized with many dogs. Cat Friendly: Unknown Crate Trained: He will whine for a minute or two at first but then calms down and does good for shorter periods during the day. He gets restless when kenneled at night and doesn’t sleep so we’ve had him sleep on a dog bed in our bedroom at night with no issues. Housebroken: Work in progress. He is heading in the right direction but has had the occasional accident and this is something his fur-ever family will need to continue to work on with him. Energy Level: Medium. He gets zoomies and loves to play but also loves to sleep in or take a long nap on the couch. He can be excited when at new places for the first time but once he gets comfortable he’s very chill. Reaction to New People: LOVES people and is very friendly. Kid Friendly: Yes, he has been exposed to kids of all ages and would be a great family dog. Would pair best with kids that understand dog safety as he sometimes doesn’t realize his size. Training: Knows his name & sit, walks good on a leash. Working on down, come, stay, potty training, etc. Grooming Needs: Typical husky grooming with weekly brushing. He loves baths and treats them like a personal spa day. Fence: 5 ft fence or higher is best. He is a typical husky escape artist and has gotten over our 4 ft fence before. 5ft fence is ok but a 6ft or privacy fence would be best. Solo or Siblings: Would make a great sibling and loves being around other dogs but can also vibe solo too. From the Foster: Luka is such a sweet dog. He is the perfect running, walking, and hiking buddy that is always down for an adventure. He also does great with down time and loves to cuddle up on the couch with you at the end of the day. He’s a lover not a fighter and LOVES to meet and be around people as well as other dogs. He’s very curious and loves to play with other dogs. He can be a bit high energy so not every dog wants to play back but Luka is a sweetheart. He has also done great with kids of all ages and is a gentle goof. He is a little clumsy and a typical husky so would do best with kids at an age like 7+ that understand dog safety. Luka was an outside dog and came to AAHMN as an unclaimed stray that had zero training and didn’t know how to play or just be a dog. In a short time, he has really blossomed and is eager to please. He’s figured out the joy of toys, pup cups, long walks, cuddles, and doggie play dates. He’s such a sweet dog and would make a great family dog or dog sibling. He still has more training to do and would thrive in a house that continues working on training with him. He also is an escape artist and with the right motivation can try to push boundaries so a home with a 5ft+ fence or higher is a must. He gets a little excited when in new places but settles in easy enough once he’s comfortable. Luka has a sweet personality and is relatively quiet but will give you some sweet husky woos and talk back on long car rides. Luka is a dog that will steal your heart and would be a great addition to any family. We are so excited for Luka to find his fur-ever family! Adoption Fee: $400 All dogs coming into Adopt a Husky Minnesota receive care tailored to their needs, including: Nose-to-tail exam with a partner veterinarian, Vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Leptospirosis, Bordetella), 4DX test to check for heartworm or tick exposure, Fecal Analysis, Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative, Spay/Neuter prior to adoption, Microchip, and are evaluated for temperament and trainability.

We will be on 3rd Street and Washington Square.💚 Date of birth: 3/25/2026 Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: Yes Meet Pimento! She’s is such a sweet, spunky puppy who loves to be with her people and will tell you all about it. Pimento loves to play, romp around and be your typical silly puppy. She likes playing with her toys and loves playing with her sisters. Pimento is a petite girl and likely mixed with something smaller than husky that gives her a more narrow muzzle and build. She’s playful and silly but also loves to snuggle and give kisses. She’s can be vocal, true to husky form when she doesn’t get her way but she is super smart and takes direction well. Pimento currently sleeps in a puppy pen with her sisters and is potty pad trained. Pimento and her sisters came into rescue from our partner rescue on the reservations in SD. She is hoping to find a forever family of her own to love! Adoption fee: $595
