Story
Location: Monticello, MN Alvin is basically a large living teddy bear! He is sweet, loving, fluffy, snuggly and calm. He enjoys short bursts of play with humans of all ages, other dogs and toys but is generally quiet and calm. He remains calm and quiet in his kennel overnight and while humans are away. He is still getting used to living inside and learning boundaries, but he goes potty outside and comes in with sweet words of encouragement to do so. He is motivated in general by positive praise and affection. He also remains calm while on a leash because he just wants to be near someone. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
Location: Harrisburg, SD Dorothy is quiet and gentle. She loves chew toys. She does well with kids and doesn’t mind cats but will growl if she does not know them well and they get in her space. Dorothy does have some anxiety and will need someone to be patient while she learns to not fear the leash or car rides. She’s not aggressive fearful, but will have an accident or lay down and cry if you try to take her somewhere new. This little lady does prefer her familiar spot wherever that may be in the house. She also will howl with her family which is the cutest! Dorothy is silly and so affectionate when she gets to know and trust you! She does a happy twirling tap dance when her favorite people come home or give her attention! --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
Location: St Cloud, MN Oh hey there. I’m NFL. My foster mom calls me Juneau though. Cause I’m a Husky. So original right. She thinks she’s soooo funny. Usually I just roll my eyes and give her a snarky howl to let her know I’m not impressed with her shenanigans. She tells me I’m not as vocal as she expected. Whatever that means. I think I speak my mind just fine. Oh. Did I mention I just had 9 puppies? My foster mom told me I was a great momma and it’s now okay for me to find a forever home without them. She has a few small human puppies. I like them. I’m gentle and love all the pets they give. I am a little thin from caring for all those babies though, so I’m usually quite hungry. My foster mom is helping me get some weight put back on. I keep my crate very clean. My foster mom says it’s impressive. Not sure what’s so impressive about keeping things clean but if she’s happy, I’m happy. I’m also learning how to be good on a leash, but I have a little work to do. I’m bred to pull sleds, not walk like a princess. What more can I say? Anyway, thanks for stopping by. If you like what you see I’d love to meet you. My foster mom could probably answer any questions you might have. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
Location: Edina, MN Flynn is a sweetheart who proves that bigger dogs can be excellent snugglers. He’s affectionate, gentle, and happy to curl up close—yes, even at his size! His energy level is low to medium, making him a great match for someone who enjoys relaxed walks and calm companionship rather than nonstop action. Flynn does well on leash, gets along nicely with other dogs, and is mostly house trained. He’s reported to be kennel trained, though he’s been perfectly trustworthy when left out—so long as food isn’t within reach (who could blame him?). Overall, Flynn is an easygoing, well-mannered guy who just wants to be near his people. If you’re looking for a mellow, loving companion with just the right amount of snuggle, Flynn could be your perfect match 🐾 --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Name: Yuki Sex: Female Color: Isabella White Eye Color: Brown Birthday: 11/15/20 Weight: 49lbs Large Dog Friendly: Yes, good with new dogs she meets. Does best with male dogs. Small Dog Friendly: So far, she has been good with the few smaller dogs she has met on leash. Cat Friendly: NO - very high prey drive. Crate Trained: Very short periods of time, and only while we are home. Trusted to free roam when we’re not home, but our home is pretty much husky-proof. Has a history of harming herself when crated in her first foster home. Housebroken: Yes, she will let you know when she needs to go out. Energy Level: She has her calm times and long naps, and she also gets zoomies and loves to play rough a few times a day like most huskies. She loves walks and loves to be outside watching squirrels or bunnies in a fenced yard. Reaction to New People: Good with adults and older kids. Working on manners and socialization. Kid Friendly: Older, calmer kids are best for her. Smaller children make her nervous, especially if they get too close too fast. Training: She knows the basics; sits before getting her food dish and is pretty good at coming when called. Could use some better leash manners but has improved. She really wants to meet and play with other friendly dogs on walks. She would likely benefit from some socialization to gain confidence in new/public situations. Like most huskies, she is a runner, so caution by the doors and getting in and out of the car is needed. Grooming Needs: Normal husky coat brushing about once a week or so, more when blowing her coat. She does shed less than other huskies we’ve had, her fur is on the shorter side which helps. Does okay with baths but only needs that once or twice a year. Gets dirty while playing, but the dirt tends to fall off quickly – it’s a husky thing. Fence: Yuki would do best with at least a 4-foot-high fence, 6 feet would be better. She loves to be outside; rain or snow do not bother her much. She hasn’t tried to dig out lately but is a true husky escape artist so should be supervised even with a fence! Solo or Siblings: Yuki would do best with a male dog with lots of energy to match hers in play. Preferably male husky (or other high energy dog) around her age or younger. Once she got comfortable in her foster home, she started being less tolerant of female dogs in the home. We’ve been working on that. She could also do well as a solo dog, with lots of play and attention to get her energy out. From the Foster: Yuki is a sweet, furry little princess who loves attention and belly rubs. She has her relaxation times and has her zoomies and loves to play. She’s a bit shy and hesitant in new situations and would benefit from socialization and group training class. Like a typical husky, she loves to run, climb, jump etc, so may also benefit from joring or agility classes. She loves attention and belly rubs; she will lay on her back and paw at you or reach out to you for more if you stop. She is quite a talker, like many huskies are, and when the neighborhood dogs bark, she howls to join in. She is an all-around adventurous, loving, curious and goofy girl who may be shy and nervous at first, but who settles in fairly quickly to be her true husky self. She would love to have a more mature human or family to experience life with, and to help her learn to enjoy the world
