Story
About Yuki Sex: Female Color: Isabella White Eye Color: Brown Birthday: 11/15/20 Weight: 40 Large Dog Friendly: Yes, she does really well with all the dogs she meets at the dog park. At home she tends to get nervous with other dogs when they are too hyper or wild. Small Dog Friendly: Unknown Cat Friendly: Unknown Crate Trained: At this time, no, as she is not used to being in a crate. Appears to have some separation anxiety and will need work to get crate trained. Housebroken: Yes Energy Level: She is typically very calm, but does get zoomies and likes to run around. She would do best in a home where she can relax, cuddle and get all the belly rubs! She also loves walks, and regular runs in a fenced in yard/area Reaction to New People: She is shy at first, but warms up quickly and loves pets. Needs to work on socialization with new people and situations Kid Friendly: Older and calmer would be best for her, as young kids and their noises and quick movements make her nervous. Training: She knows the basics, but could use some better leash manners as she likes to jump around and go all husky when asked to go potty. She needs socialization to learn some confidence in new/public situations. Like most huskies, she is a runner, so caution by the doors and getting in and out of the car is needed. Fence: Currently she goes out on a leash to go potty and then back in, as she does not appear to like the cold as much as a lot of huskies. She does respect the fence at a dog park, but at home would need to be on a tie out or supervised as she will dig under or try to climb out. Solo or Siblings: She would love to be the lone center of human attention, but could also like a sibling to play with, depending on the dog as she can be picky about her playmates and if they are too crazy she can be nervous. From the Foster: Yuki is a furry little princess that loves all the attention. She is overall pretty calm, but also has her husky zoomies. Since a small pup, she has always been a bit shy and hesitant in unknown situations/people and needs to build her confidence, but she does love to explore, and would benefit from socialization and group training class. Like a typical husky, she loves to run, climb, jump etc, so may also benefit from joring or agility classes. She is tolerant of baths, but is scared of water otherwise, and will tip-toe through wet grass. She loves attention and belly rubs, and will lay on her back and paw at you or reach out to you for more if you stop. She is an all around adventurous, loving, curious and goofy girl who needs a best friend to cuddle, experience life with, and to help her overcome her nervousness/fear of the world. Adoption Fee: $200 All dogs coming into Adopt a Husky Minnesota receive care tailored to their needs, including: Nose-to-tail exam with a partner veterinarian, Vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella), 4DX test to check for heartworm or tick exposure, Fecal Analysis, Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative, Spay/Neuter prior to adoption, Microchip, and are evaluated for temperament and trainability.

Story
Color: White Eye Color: Blue Birthday: 12/28/2021 - Estimated Weight: 42 pounds, working on gaining weight. Large Dog Friendly: Yes Small Dog Friendly: Unknown Cat Friendly: No Crate Trained: Yes - can be noisy at first but usually quiets herself quickly. Housebroken: We have not had any accidents but Sakari does not have a signal to go out. She is always supervised and let out frequently. Energy Level: HIGH Reaction to New People: Cautious with some but friendly with most. Kid Friendly: Unknown, might be too much for smaller kiddos. Training: She knows sit and shake. Working on other skills! Fence: Not required, she was picked up at large and in true Siberian fashion we'd bet this girl would run like the wind if given the chance. Solo or Siblings: Being Solo would work for Sakari with a lot of exercise. She will do best with other dogs who love to play. However, Sakari is a dominant player and doesn't know when to stop, but is improving. From the Foster: Sakari is a sweet, smiley one year old pup who loves to cuddle as much as she likes to run. Sakari will keep anyone on their toes but you will fall in love with her quirky personality. She loves to run but often forgets how to use her legs and will dive headfirst into a pile of snow. Sakari is learning new tricks and recently conquered "shake (although her balance could use some work) she just gets so darn excited. She loves all kinds of treats and often responds very well to guidance when offered a tasty morsel. She also loves walks and is decent on a leash; however, she still pulls and is easily excitable. While playing with toys, Sakari will often play fetch with herself and will see how high she can toss her toy (especially balls)! Sakari also loves to play with other dogs but is still learning social cues and doesn't know how to back down when warned. Due to this, she also will be great as a solo pet as she also loves to play with her humans. Adoption Fee: $400 All dogs coming into Adopt a Husky Minnesota receive care tailored to their needs, including: Nose-to-tail exam with a partner veterinarian, Vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella), 4DX test to check for heartworm or tick exposure, Fecal Analysis, Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative, Spay/Neuter prior to adoption, Microchip, and are evaluated for temperament and trainability.

Story
Name: Morgan Sex: Female Color: Red & White Eye Color: One blue eye Birthday: 01/30/2015 Weight: 58 lbs Large Dog Friendly: Yes Small Dog Friendly: Unknown Cat Friendly: No Crate Trained: Yes, but can be trusted unsupervised and has free roam currently Housebroken: Yes Energy Level: Low Reaction to New People: Friendly Kid Friendly: Yes, older/calm children would be ideal with her limited vision. She does not like any loud noises Training: Knows sit and shake Grooming Needs: Has a plush almost wooly coat so will require more grooming then a standard Siberian Fence: Not required, uses a tie-out in her foster home Solo or Siblings: Either, calmer dogs would be ideal in her furever home From the Foster: This girl has been dealt some crappy hands during her life but she still remains such a sweetheart. Morgan was originally found as a stray and already missing her eye. So we do not know what happened. She was adopted 5 years ago and returned when her family was unable to find housing. We got her in with the ophthalmologist right away as her remaining eye was cloudy. Morgan had cataract surgery and unfortunately had Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome (SARDS) a few days after surgery. While she is not completely blind her vision is very, very limited. Her foster home has not had to make many accommodations but does always make sure her walking areas are clear. She cannot see close up at all really. She has adjusted very well since losing her vision. Morgan is a easy keeper and the best snuggler. Adoption Fee: $275 All dogs coming into Adopt a Husky Minnesota receive care tailored to their needs, including: Nose-to-tail exam with a partner veterinarian, Vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella), 4DX test to check for heartworm or tick exposure, Fecal Analysis, Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative, Spay/Neuter prior to adoption, Microchip, and are evaluated for temperament and trainability.

Story
Name: Bumble Sex: Male Color: Black/brown Eye Color: Blue and brown Birthday: 8/5/2022 Weight: 48 lbs Large Dog Friendly: Yes Small Dog Friendly: Unknown Cat Friendly: Unknown Crate Trained: Yes, he sleeps in the crate at night. He's not as much a fan of the crate during the day. Housebroken: Mostly Energy Level: High Reaction to New People: Shy initially but usually warms up if given time and space Kid Friendly: Unknown Training: Learning to walk at a heel, knows sit Grooming Needs: Bumble has a longer husky coat which will require regular thorough brushing. You should aim for once a week or so, and more when he is blowing his coat, typically twice a year. Fence: Currently 6' decorative metal fence. Highly recommend a secure 6'+ fence for Bumble. He potties in the yard but not always on leash Solo or Siblings: Bumble must go to a home with another dog that he gets along with From the Foster: Bumble has a lot of energy! He needs structure and routine, along with continued training. Bumble enjoys his humans and wants to be with them. If the humans can't be around, he needs the company of another dog. He's learning to walk nicely on leash and has made excellent progress getting along with other dogs and new people. Adoption Fee: $450 All dogs coming into Adopt a Husky Minnesota receive care tailored to their needs, including: Nose-to-tail exam with a partner veterinarian, Vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella), 4DX test to check for heartworm or tick exposure, Fecal Analysis, Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative, Spay/Neuter prior to adoption, Microchip, and are evaluated for temperament and trainability.

Story
Name: Amelia (we call her Mila and she answers better to the nickname) Sex: Female Color: Gray & White Eye Color: Bi-eyes, one brown and one blue Birthday: July 1, 2016 Weight: 55lbs (working on getting her down to 50lbs) Large Dog Friendly: Yes Small Dog Friendly: Yes Cat Friendly: Yes. Crate Trained: Yes. The door is always open so she can go in whenever she wants/needs to. She eats in the crate but otherwise hasn't really used it much. Housebroken: Yes. Has accidents a few times when she's scared or nervous. Energy Level: Low to Medium Reaction to New People: Shy and nervous Kid Friendly: She startles easily with sudden movements or sounds so older kids/teens or no kids would be best. Training: She knows a few basic commands but she won't do them until she's comfortable with you. She is very well behaved. Grooming Needs: Typical Husky grooming needs. Will tolerate the brush in small doses. Fence: We have a 4.5 foot fence. Amelia is petite so no concerns with a bit lower fence. Not necessary though. She runs in little spurts but much prefers to go on walks! Solo or Siblings: I'd say solo if the family is home a lot. Otherwise I'd say an older, more mellow dog sibling. From the foster: Mila is so sweet! She is pretty calm for a Siberian Husky. She loves to go on walks and will easily do 2 miles a few times a day. She loves to stop and sniff everything and try new areas. Her short little legs can really move pretty quickly! She and our 3 year old husky Braxie walk well together. She likes to run in the backyard but also likes to lounge on the outdoor sofa just as much. Braxie tries to wrestle and rough play like huskies do but she doesn't like it. She'll chase him a little bit but bares her teeth at him if it's too much (she thinks she's tough but it's actually pretty adorable and makes us laugh). Mila loves food and treats and spins in circles at meal time. She is slow to warm up and startles easily so using healthy treats really helped us get her comfortable. She is very interested when we are working in the kitchen and she loves getting things like chicken, sweet potatoes and veggies/fruit. She takes treats very gently. Mila is potty trained but has had accidents. As she's gotten more comfortable with us it has gotten better. She doesn't tell us se has to go out so we take her out frequently. She doesn't get up during the night to go out. Mila sleeps on the living room floor or on the couch (she has her spot already). She could sleep on our bed but hasn't gotten that far yet. Mila is a quiet girl. She doesn't howl or bark. She does great in the car, laying down or watching out the window.
