Story
Pardon me for stating the obvious but I am adorable, right? A wee little fluff ball who is rambunctious, lively and fun. Puppies are magnificent and incredibly entertaining to be around. However, I feel I must mention the elephant, or perhaps more appropriately the husky, in the room. It will be important for my family to be familiar with the husky breed; both the aspects that make me awesome and my idiosyncrasies. As with all puppies I have so much to learn, discover and explore. I am counting on you to help me safely navigate the world and experience new things each day to allow me to grow into a confident young dog. So many things that seem common to you are completely novel to me; you need to give me time to go at my own pace while I build self-assuredness and conquer each new challenge. When I am grown, I will be a high-octane dog that will require lots of vigorous exercise every day. Some folks describe huskies as going full throttle until the wheels fall off, so I am looking forward to many years of fun, fun, fun with you; we simply do not slow down. I will be a free-spirit who is athletic, playful and agile; I will need a purpose in life, so I hope you give me a job or two. Huskies are also notorious for their wanderlust spirit, so I will be depending on you to keep me safe and secure. I would love to take obedience classes to learn proper manners and social skills and help tame my exuberance and rowdiness. I will need a calm, assertive and confident owner who can take charge and channel my energy into positive behaviors. I hope to be a true family member who is welcome wherever we go; if I am alone too long or get bored, I may voice my displeasure or occupy myself with naughty behaviors. I also know I have to practice something called house-training so I know proper potty behavior. A routine, lots of yummy treats and praise will go a long way to helping me master house-training when I use the outside facilities. With proper exercise, training and socialization, I will be a good-natured and dynamic pooch who is strikingly gorgeous. A husky is not for everyone because of our stamina, extreme intelligence and independent nature; I will need consistent rules and strict but positive guidance. I am typically very open to all sorts of housemates; I can be a bit mischievous and may find any other critter as a potential playmate so they will need to understand that about me. I often explore the world with my mouth and while I am teething, I like to chew; my little puppy teeth are very sharp so if I am around children we should always be supervised and I should be offered acceptable things to chew on. It is important that children learn about respecting me, too, and treat me gently because I am fragile and sensitive. Raising a puppy is a big responsibility, a lot of work, and it may interrupt your sleep cycle for a bit, but a courteous and well-behaved dog is certainly worth the investment and I promise to be loyal, love you unconditionally and be a companion forever. I just know I will bring joy and laughter into your home and cannot wait to meet you. Let the adventures begin!

Story
*D.O.B: 9-26-2018*Have you ever seen a more silly and beautiful husky? Doofy is ready to break free from the shelter and into a loving home of his own! Doofy was surrendered after his owner passed away and no one was able to care for him so they were going to euthanize him. We couldn't let that happen. Doofy is now neutered, has received all his vaccinations and is ready for a home! Doofy is your typical Husky and can be stubborn and is vocal! Doofy would do best in a home that doesn't have small pets! Doofy would love an active family that will provide him with all the enrichment a big husky needs. A fenced in yard will be needed for Doofy as he is a typical husky and likes to run! If you would like to meet Doofy please apply online at Eastshore Humane Association today!Applications can be found online at eastshoreha.org once your application is approved staff will contact you to arrange your own personal meet and greet! Please note we remain by appointment only at this time, please apply online or call the shelter prior to arriving! Thank you!

All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians. Our Weight Classes are as follows: 0- 25lbs - Small 26- 45lbs - Medium 46-89 - Large 90+ X-large If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs by 6 months of age. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months of age, they will need to be spayed/neutered at one of our preferred clinics. This will be determined by your contract along with the month they should have their surgery. This is included in your adoption fee. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as PENDING, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out. December 5, 2023, 11:42 am

Fenris was rescued from an abusive situation (specifics unknown) and moved multiple times before settling with us. We would love to keep him, but unfortunately had to move and our tiny house does not suit his needs. He is food/toy protective, but has improved a lot since we first got him and could continue to improve with training. He is extremely energetic and playful and absolutely loves going on walks or to the dog park. He is a very sweet and anxious dog who just needs a loving home with lots of time and patience to take care of him.

Story
·Intake Reason: Surrendered due to financial/moving·Weight: 90 lbs. Known with: ·Cats: Unknown ·Dogs: Lived with 7 yr SF Pit x ·Kids: Done well with kids ages 6, 7, 16 & 17 ·Personality: Very lovingHi ya, my name is Rocky and I am in the market for a new home. I lived with a great family for quite a while and things were grand. There was a boatload of kids to hang out with and a fun pooch to play with. Unfortunately, they needed to find ways to cut costs, so we thought it was best that I look for a new family. Since I am a fantabulous pooch, we figured I would find a loving home in no time. I am comfortable in a crate and would spend my alone time in a cozy little den where I could snooze. When my people were around, I could tell them I needed to use the outdoor facilities by running to the door but if I was alone and not in my crate, sometimes I would have accidents. It would be nice if I did not have to wait too long between breaks, so maybe I could have scheduled bathroom breaks throughout the day. In my previous home I got to sleep in my person's bed at night and that was grand; we could snuggle all night long. I must confess that I am a bit on the portly side, so I would love to start an exercise routine with you to get daily activity and perhaps lose a pound or two. I do enjoy walking, getting outside and soaking in all the awesome smells; I am a strong boy and pull a bit on a leash, but that is simply because I am ecstatic to be exploring with you. I am a friendly boy who greets all who approach; I do like humans. In fact, I like them so much that I get excited and jump up to say ‘hi'. Apparently, there are those folks who do not appreciate a 90-pound pup trying to give them a hug, so perhaps I should practice some manners. I do know the cues for ‘sit', ‘down' and ‘paw/shake' so maybe we can work on doing a behavior that is incompatible with jumping when I meet someone. I have also been practicing the cue ‘stay' so I am hoping you can continue that and even teach me more human words; I am very smart and like to stay busy and keep learning. I am outgoing and playful; just a cheerful pup who is a friend to all. I have been described as active, independent, quiet and affectionate but can be a smidge stubborn. If you are looking for a very loving pup who is handsome, friendly and cheerful, I believe your search is over because you have discovered me. Stop by to meet me in person and let's get this lovefest started.#1
