Story
Adorable Lupin is a 8 month-old fellow from Amarillo, Texas. He had a bit of a rough start after being dumped in a field, but thankfully, he is in a safe place now, and is thriving. He has expressive eyes, the softest coat youve ever felt, and a goofy, uncoordinated, puppy body that is sure to make you laugh. While he may take a minute to warm up to new people and situations, Lupin is extremely kind and curious. Once he feels comfortable, he loves everyone he meets, human and canine alike. He especially loves kids, and just wants to play with them and get pets. Lupin loves to play with squeak toys, dance for his tennis ball, romp around in the yard, chew on bones, and wrestle with his foster sister. He is very food motivated, and has been learning commands like sit and come. He is crate trained, house trained, knows how to use the dog door at his foster home, and is getting pretty good at walking on a leash. He has abundant puppy energy, and is always game to go for a fun adventure, or take a long walk. When the adventure is over, you can find him curled up on the couch with his head on a throw pillow, like a person. Lupin would love a home with a canine playmate, or some humans to help him continue to build his confidence and enjoy all life has to offer. This little guy has so much love to give, and we cant wait for him to find his person. Lupin is being fostered in Denver, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/lupin/. Story
Who doesn’t love a smiling, yellow, mature adult, lab?!? Please meet Flo! Named after Hurricane Florence (she was rescued after being displaced during the storms), Flo has been living the dream in what she had hoped would be her forever home. Unfortunately, her owner was experiencing homelessness and knew she deserved more than what he could provide. Flo is a happy, playful, friendly girl. She’s well mannered in a home, house trained, and the type of dog that just fits in from the start. Flo is great with dogs and kiddos, but is seeking a feline free home. She’s a hefty 62 lbs but is a bit overweight. Flo is being fostered in Aurora, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/flo/. Story
Hi, I`m Chica! I`m a sweet and affectionate girl who loves being close to my people. If you`re looking for a loyal cuddle buddy, I`m your gal! I`m a bit particular about my dog friends and I can also be nervous around children, so I`d do best in a home with no other dogs and adults who can help me feel safe and comfortable. One thing to know about me is that I`m quite the escape artist! I`ll need a secure home and a family committed to keeping me safe while I settle in. If you`re looking for a loving companion who will happily return all the affection you give, I may be the perfect match. I can`t wait to meet you!

Story
Hi there, my name is Jane! I’m a super sweet girl who loves to give kisses. I also love going on walks and laying down in a nice shady spot outside. I’m super food motivated and a very quick learner. While I can pull on the leash when I get excited, I’m doing a great job of learning to walk alongside my person in exchange for tasty rewards. I have a history of escaping yards to chase small mammals and livestock, so I’ll need a home with a secure 6+ foot fence to help keep me safe. I know how to sit and lay down and would love nothing more than to have people to chill with after playtime. I look forward to meeting you!

Story
Bird is an 11 month old lab/cattle mix adopted from a shelter who loves sunbathing, drinking straight from a garden hose, playing in any type of water, hiking, camping, playing with other dogs and relaxing on the couch during hot days. Bird knows all basic commands and listens very well: come, sit, down, off (for unwanted furniture laying), and middle (he'll go between your legs and sit). He does not chew furniture or personal belongings, but he will chew through easily-rip-able toys, so his favorite toys are Chuck-It sticks, Kongs, tug of war ropes and antler bones. Since he is still a puppy and very energetic, he barks at dogs when passing them on the same side of the sidewalk. He has not shown any aggression, and it looks like he does this because he wants to play with them. We've been training him with this and he has improved lots! He loves going to doggy daycare and loves the dogs as much as the people. He has been living in a home with another dog and enjoys her company.

Story
Luna is a lovebug & goofball who forms strong bonds with those she trusts. She just wants to be the only child who gets all the love, toys, beds, and all the pets. She loves playing ball (especially when treats are involved), playing keep away, and going on walks. Though she also doesn't mind being a couch potato (after getting exercise) and snuggling under a blanket. She does especially well when she knows what is expected of her and is with a human who offers consistent, calm leadership. Luna is a sensitive dog who requires a very specific home environment to thrive. She experiences fear-based, context-specific reactivity when she feels unsafe. Luna needs someone committed to her ongoing training. While Luna has lived with other dogs/cats, we are seeking a single-animal home for her moving forward to ensure long-term safety and nervous system stability. We selected "unknown" for dogs and cats because her ability to be "good" with other animals depends on the animal and the handler.
