Story
Hello! My name is Greenbrier. I am about 4 months old and have a short, cream-colored coat. I am super sweet and easy going! I love stuffed animals and often play tug-o-war with my siblings. I have met kids of all ages and love to play. Playtime is exhausting so I am happy to curl up on your lap or at your feet and take a nap.  I am great with other dogs… once we are introduced. They are a lot bigger than me! I have not met cats yet; I am sure what to think of them. I love to run around the yard and follow you while you work. My favorite recently has been pumpkin treats! I sleep well in a kennel at night and have a good routine down! I would love to meet you and find my furever family.

Story
This brindle beauty came to Soul Dog with her siblings and is ready to find her forever home. After spending most of her life in the shelter, Kemmerer went into foster in early October. She is working through her fears at warp speed and is even getting used to that nasty elevator. Her friends are impressed with her progress, but she wants them to know she’ll always make time for treats and belly rubs. Now if only she could figure out her own reflection!Kemmerer is submissive and gets along with other dogs and cats. She is crate- and house-trained and does well on a leash. She is quiet, takes good care of her toys, and will cuddle for cheese.Kemmerer hopes you’ll give her a chance. She’ll make the best companion and is excited to meet you! This dog is currently in a foster home. Please go to www.souldog.org to fill out an adoption application so we can set up a meet and greet. When submitting your adoption application make sure to submit a good clear picture of your living room, kitchen, and yard. If you rent, you must provide proof animals are allowed. We will contact references.

Story
Spencer would be a wonderful companion to an experienced adopter preferably who has experience with rescue dogs in the past. We adopted Spencer from a high kill shelter in Arkansas where he lived his early life on the streets. Since rehabilitating him he as come such a long way! Unfortunately we have welcomed our first baby and he has not done well with the transition, so finding a child free home is a must. Having a house with a yard would also be best. He loves playing with other dogs & thrives at puppy daycare/structured play. He needs slow intros for other dogs and people. He would make a great hiking/walking buddy. He needs exercise and would do well with someone who has an active lifestyle. He absolutely loves his people. He is a snuggler! He knows all of his commands and is highly food motivated.

Story
Hello, I'm Jake! I am a 3 month old Lab/Black Mouth Cur mix. I came to the shelter with my sister and at just 13 weeks old, we are already potty-trained!! Our days are filled with playful antics and exploring my surroundings. I'm sweet and smart, learning new things every day. I love to play, whether it's with a squeaky toy or a good old-fashioned game of fetch. I also enjoy a good cuddle session. I'm not just a puppy, I'm a friend, a companion, someone who will bring joy and laughter into your life. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas at least monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. ##1975118##

Story
Hiya! I'm Sven, the goofiest pup you'll ever meet. I'm about 8 months old and full of life. I'm all about fun, cuddles, and more fun! So, how'd I end up here? Well, it's a funny story. I was chasing my tail (I'm sure it's plotting against me) and I ran into a wall. I'm okay, but my pride? Not so much. The folks here at the shelter took me in, and they're great, but I'm ready for a new adventure. I promise to bring joy, laughter, and maybe a few facepalm moments. I can't wait to be your new best friend and the star of your home videos! Please DO NOT CALL to ask about me. The staff at PCHS is small and there is a place on our short application form for questions or you can email questions to info@polkcountyhumanesociety.org. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas twice a month. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veteinarian ($35).
