Story
Hey there, I`m Wyatt, the happiest pup you`ll ever meet! I`m a 1.5-year-old Lab mix with a heart full of love and a personality to match. I`m looking for a forever family that can keep up with my playful and energetic nature.I`m a goofy and fun-loving guy who is always up for an adventure. I have a ton of energy, so I love to run and play whenever I get the chance. I`m also a social butterfly and get along great with other dogs. I would love to have a fenced yard where I can run and play to my heart`s content.I would thrive in a home with a fenced yard where I can burn off some of my energy. I would also do best with kids who are 10 and up, as my high energy level might be a bit much for younger children. If you have cats, don`t worry—I`m happy to do a slow introduction to make sure we get along.I`m in good health and ready to find my forever home. I`m up to date on all my vaccines and just can`t wait to find a family that will love me as much as I love them.If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is: SPONSORED!

Story
Hello, my name is Punky and I came into the shelter as a stray. I was running with another dog that is my brother. I`m about 6 years old and weigh about 70lbs. I really love to play with toys and for being 6 years old I do have a lot of energy. I don`t do well in a kennel and with cats so I can`t go into a home with them. I play very well with other dogs in the yard. I also love to go for walks too.I don`t like it when people I don`t know approach me when I`m in my yard, therefore a home with a privacy fence would be required. I would be good to go into a home with a older family. I also know some basic commands like sit when I want a treat and will roll over for belly rubs. I do enjoy sleeping on a nice soft bed after a day of play. I can either go into home with an active family or a lower energy household. I would to love find my forever home.If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is: SPONSORED!

Story
Hey, everyone, I`m Presley!I`m an adorable 1 year old lab mix and I weigh just over 50 pounds. I have the prettiest white markings but am mostly black in color. I came to the shelter about a week ago and was super scared when I got here but am gradually getting used to my human and fur friends. I got to play in two different dog/dog playgroups today and I had so much fun with a couple of my buddies that stay with me here.Since I am still a bit shy and unsure of my surroundings, I would do best in more of a quiet home with not a lot going on. If you do have children, it would be better if they were older and not as rough playing with me. I love treats and balls and I eat my food very nicely and politely.I don`t know any tricks yet, so I would do really great with a family that would be dedicated to taking me to basic obedience training where I can learn very good manners. If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm and Saturday 10am-3pm. To help speed up the application process, it is recommended that you complete the online application form found at the link below.https://www.macombgov.org/departments/animal-control/adoptions,My adoption fee is $100

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay on Petfinder until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peak your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=26, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41, EXOTICS: https://us14b.sheltermanager.com/onlineform_view?formid=46) completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 50-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will continue to perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.
