Apollo is a big goofy boy with a big heart. He was a rescue that has been a loyal companion. Unfortunately, due to health issues, his owner is unable to take care of him anymore. Apollo would ideally have a privacy fence. He also does great with kids! He tolerates cats well too. He has a lot of love to give the right household!

Patsy is a 2 year old female lab mix. She is spayed. Her breed is not known for sure. She is sweet, energetic and playful. She likes to play tug-of-war and needs a fenced yard to run in. She has not been around small children but she isn't aggressive at all, not even about food. She will chase after small animals though. She has also lived with another dog before.

Story
Bessie and Hettie are bonded purebred Labrador Retrievers. We think they are sisters. They were found as strays nearly 2 years ago and are still looking for a forever home. These senior sisters are full of love towards all humans and can get along with dogs after they know the new dogs aren't going to hurt them. These girls have various health concerns, with their advanced age that's to be expected. We are guessing them to be 13ish years old. (As of June 2023). Bessie is the black girl, she's overweight and mellow. She had a couple benign tumors removed and is slow to get up at times. Probably no long staircases for her. She's just full of love though, melts into your touch and rolls over for belly rubs. Hettie is the chocolate girl and she's spry and no mobility issues for her. She does have some severe allergies. We've tried food trials, medications, and nothing has helped completely. It seems to be environmental and we have a bunch of fields, trees, etc around us. She's just as sweet as Bessie with humans and a bit more concerned of other dogs. These sisters need a home willing to give them love and inside comforts for what little bit of life they have left. They currently live in an indoor/outdoor run set up and I'm not sure if they are housebroken or even been a house pet before. Their adoption fee is covered....can you give them a home?

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Virginia (virginiak@tarasdream.org) for more information about this pet. Please visit our web site at https://tarasdream.org/adopt to fill out an adoption application for this pet and for more info about our adoption process.   Meet Roxy!  Roxy is one unique girl who’s had a rough go being in our boarding facility for several years now, which is never good.  That said, her personality is still that of a smiley happy dog, who loves to go on walks with our volunteers.  Roxy was recently fostered in a home for the holidays where she did very well, having no accidents and behaving like an angel!  Roxy can be a little nervous and unsure of men, which just means men should give her time to familiarize with them, and respect her by moving slowly, and not acting like an idiot or aggressive (I’m a guy btw, I can vouch we are idiots at times).  Roxy needs someone patient, but once she connects with you, she will be your best friend and love you in the most special way.  If you think you are that unique opportunity for Roxy, she’s been waiting!    Approximate Birthdate:  Oct 2017 Adoption Fee: Roxy's adoption fee has been sponsored by the Kansas City Crime Lab! TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming.  TARA's pets are all eligible for a TWO WEEK TRIAL. Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed.  Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines: Small 1-20 pounds, Med 20-50 pounds, Large 50-80 pounds, Extra Large over 80 pounds.   For more information please fill out an application.     CONTACT INFO The Animal Rescue Alliance (TARA) Web site: tarasdream.org Adoption Information & Applications: https://tarasdream.org/adopt Upcoming Adoption Events: https://tarasdream.org/events Email: email@tarasdream.org April 19, 2024, 11:48 am

Story
Bear is a big, lazy puppy who loves his walks, playing with other dogs, snuggling, and sun bathing outside. Once he warms up to someone, he loves to cuddle up while he takes one of his many naps throughout the day. Bear had a rough past, so he's still learning how to dog. He loves other dogs and mimicked them in his previous home. They were his best friends and safety blankets. Bear will need to be in a home with a canine companion. He will also need a quiet home, without a lot of commotion or visitors. Loud noises and lots of movement frighten him. He's slow to warm up to strangers and needs a home with people who will give him time and space and proper introductions. Bear's owners are rehoming him because they have a new baby, which means lots of noise (oh, the crying!) and so much commotion and so many visitors. This is all very stressful for Bear. Bear is an extremely sweet dog who just needs a little emotional support and patience. He's a smart guy and would benefit from continued training. Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more info on this fabulous pooch. He's in the KC metro, but transport is available to the right home. #thepetconnection

Please visit our web site at https://tarasdream.org/adopt to fill out an adoption application for this pet and for more info about our adoption process.  Meet Sabrina!  And let me tell you she’s a little cray-cray, but it’s 100% love cray-cray!  Sabrina is a pittie mix, and she’s a firecracker of energy who would make for a sweet companion for an active household.  She walks well on a leash, and she does simmer down once she gets some energy out, which is in part because she’s in a boarding facility where her time to play is always limited.  Sabrina’s good with some other dogs but would probably do best as a one-dog companion.  She’s friendly with everyone, but as she can be so excited at times, she would be best suited for a home without very small children that she might knock over with kisses!  Sabrina wants to remind you that it’s not easy to find a home when you’re a black dog, and she would love an opportunity to meet you and melt your heart.        Approximate Birthdate:  July 2022 Adoption Fee: $200 TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming.  TARA's pets are all eligible for a TWO WEEK TRIAL.
