Meet Ace! Ace is a approximately 4 to 5 year old male lab mix. Ace is a pretty energetic dog that seems to be just past the puppy phase of life and is ready to learn anything you may throw at him along with tackle any adventure you guys may want to endeavor. Ace was found exploring our city in the cold alongside a peer We call Chase who will also be available for adoption as well. Ace does seem to do very well with Chase so we think he would be ok with other dogs as well.

Story
This gorgeous girl is June Bug, our friend from The Rescue Project. She's a lab mix and about three years old. But more importantly, she's a happy girl is so much fun! June Bug isn't just pretty. She has the smarts, too! She's very willing to work for people she likes (and food, she's willing to work for food). June Bug particularly enjoys showing people that she knows shake with both paws, as she's perfected that skill, and knows she'll get ... food! She likes learning new things, so go ahead and teach her all the fun stuff to help keep her mind busy. June Bug can be cautious around new people and things, but give her a chance and show her you're one of the kind, good humans. She'll love you to the moon and back and show you her snuggly, goofy side. She is worth your time, we promise. June Bug is looking for an adult-only home with a fenced yard, as kids can be loud and scary and apartments aren't going to work for her. She needs to be the only pet in her new home. Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more information. June Bug is staying in the KC metro, but transport is available to the right home. #thepetconnection #JuneBug #LabMix #DogTraining #DogLovers #RescueDog #AdoptDontShop #KCmetro #DogRescue

Story
This is Dahlia, our friend at City of Raytown Animal Services. She is the sweetest lab mix, around 6 years old. Dahlia arrived at the shelter not feeling well. The amazing kennel care staff discovered she had blood in her urine and an enlarged abdomen. Dahlia was taken to the vet, where she was diagnosed with what's called a closed pyometra. A pyometra is when the uterus fills with heavy amounts of infected pus. A closed pyometra is one where you often do not see any symptoms until the dog is very sick. Thankfully, Dahlia's condition was caught in time. Dahlia is now spayed and wants to tell everyone to get your pets fixed! Pyometra is no joke; it's deadly and expensive! She also would like to mention she's looking for a place to crash for several years. She does not intend to hold a job, pay rent, or do any home repairs. What she can offer is being a loving dog for the rest of her life, enjoying the quiet times, slow walks together, meeting other calm dogs, playing fetch with the younger kiddos, and long naps on the rug. Dahlia's housebroken, doesn't mind cats (although she thinks they’re weird), and likes other dogs, but isn't a fan of the in-your-face puppy antics. If you would like to meet Dahlia, stop by 10312 E. 63rd St., Raytown, MO, from 8:30 to 4:00, M-F, call 816-737-7025 (including to make an appointment outside those hours), or call/text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387.

Story
Rocky is a gentle soul who starts his morning with some stretches, downward dog yoga poses, and meditation (aka naps in the sun). He's a big chap at about 80 pounds, but don't worry, at just about five years old, Rocky won't be growing more! We recently learned that Rocky loooooooves to swim! Like, really loves it and could possibly be a water sports dog, too. He dives for the ball and really commits by putting his head and body under the water! This pooch has heart *and* skills, we're happy to report. He's also super cute -- bonus! You couldn't ask for a better pooch than this guy. He's intelligent, affectionate, loving, house-trained, and doesn’t chew on anything (except for toys and Benebone wishbones). Do you have a dog in need of a canine companion? Fantastic! Rocky adores the dogs in his foster home. He carefully picks out toys to share with them, and then they enjoy a good game of chase in the yard. He would also do great as the only pooch in his home if he gets plenty of attention from the humans. Rocky is not so much a cat guy, though. Rocky already knows sit, stay, come, touch, and shake. He loves earning treats by doing these tricks and could be easily trained to learn even more. Rocky takes treats so, so gently from your hand, too. (He's such a good boy!) Some of Rocky's favorite things are getting pets, riding in the car, being outdoors, playing with toys, and going on walks. While Rocky loves cuddling in bed with his humans, he patiently waits to be invited up, because he's polite like that. What Rocky would love to do most of all, though, is find his forever home. Please call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 if you're The One. If not, please share Rocky's information with everyone you know so you can visit Rocky at their house when he gets adopted. #thepetconnection
