Story
COURTESY LISTING. Clover is a two year old lab mix who has had all of her shots and is spayed. She weighs around 60 pounds. Clover has a sweet disposition. She gets along well with other dogs and loves people. She has not been exposed to cats. She is housetrained and crate trained. She loves her toys but they need to be heavy or they won't last long. She is very active and would love to take walks however, she is not lease trained and still pulls. She would need a fence but she hasn't jumped her owners 4 foot fence so that should be enough. She has a little experience with small children that plays well with older kids.

Story
Nitro is a 2 year old Labrador/Husky mix who came in with another dog. He was a bit shy at first, but quickly warmed up to staff and became quite the character. Nitro is playful and sweet, he is always up for anything- whether it be fetch in the yard or a pack walk with volunteers. While rambunctious, he does settle down in his run between rotations and tries to keep his kennel clean. Nitro would make a great addition to an active family who wants a cuddle bug during movie nights.

Story
Bessie and Hettie are bonded purebred Labrador Retrievers. We think they are sisters. They were found as strays nearly 2 years ago and are still looking for a forever home. These senior sisters are full of love towards all humans and can get along with dogs after they know the new dogs aren't going to hurt them. These girls have various health concerns, with their advanced age that's to be expected. We are guessing them to be 13ish years old. (As of June 2023). Bessie is the black girl, she's overweight and mellow. She had a couple benign tumors removed and is slow to get up at times. Probably no long staircases for her. She's just full of love though, melts into your touch and rolls over for belly rubs. Hettie is the chocolate girl and she's spry and no mobility issues for her. She does have some severe allergies. We've tried food trials, medications, and nothing has helped completely. It seems to be environmental and we have a bunch of fields, trees, etc around us. She's just as sweet as Bessie with humans and a bit more concerned of other dogs. These sisters need a home willing to give them love and inside comforts for what little bit of life they have left. They currently live in an indoor/outdoor run set up and I'm not sure if they are housebroken or even been a house pet before. Their adoption fee is covered....can you give them a home?

Story
Bear is a big, lazy puppy who loves his walks, playing with other dogs, snuggling, and sun bathing outside. Once he warms up to someone, he loves to cuddle up while he takes one of his many naps throughout the day. Bear had a rough past, so he's still learning how to dog. He loves other dogs and mimicked them in his previous home. They were his best friends and safety blankets. Bear will need to be in a home with a canine companion. He will also need a quiet home, without a lot of commotion or visitors. Loud noises and lots of movement frighten him. He's slow to warm up to strangers and needs a home with people who will give him time and space and proper introductions. Bear's owners are rehoming him because they have a new baby, which means lots of noise (oh, the crying!) and so much commotion and so many visitors. This is all very stressful for Bear. Bear is an extremely sweet dog who just needs a little emotional support and patience. He's a smart guy and would benefit from continued training. Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more info on this sweet boy. He's in the KC metro, but transport is available to the right home. #thepetconnection

Please visit our web site at https://tarasdream.org/adopt to fill out an adoption application for this pet and for more info about our adoption process.  Finley is potty and kennel trained, and knows sit, down, shake, fetch, and drop! This handsome gentleman gets along with most other dogs and loves to lean on people, especially for neck and chin scratches. He loves tennis balls, tugging ropes, chewing bones, and takes treats from your hand very gently. He doesn't try to get on furniture. He's always watching for birds and squirrels and whatever else might be interesting, but isn't especially noisy unless there's good reason to be. He's also great in the car. Finley would do best with a fenced yard and in a home without cats. He is a sweet, loving boy who can't wait to meet you! He already knows everything he needs to happily join your household.  Approximate Birthdate:  Jan 2022 Adoption Fee: $200 TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming.  TARA's pets are all eligible for a TWO WEEK TRIAL. Please visit our web site at https://tarasdream.org/adopt to fill out an adoption application for this pet and for more info about our adoption process.    Meet Sabrina! She is goofy teenager at about 1 year old and is looking to find her very own forever family. Sabrina was rescued after being abandoned, tied to a tree with no food, water or shelter. The neighbors became worried about her and thankfully she was brought to safety just before the forecasted storms moved into town. Sabrina loves to enjoy the outdoors with proper supervision, and would like a yard to run around in with her family. She has had short visits with other dogs, big and small, and is the alpha at play. Her foster home has an old crabby dog that doesn't want to be friends, and Sabrina cries to play with her, not understanding that some dogs don't want to play. Because Sabrina was abandoned, she loves being near her human and really needs to be the focus of her human, so we recommend she be the only dog in the house.   Sabrina knows "sit" and "stay" and enjoys bones and things to chew on. She likes squeaky balls and tosses them in the air to herself to chase around, which is always entertaining to watch. She's great at fetching the ball, but still needs to learn how to bring it back! That's ok, we need the steps anyway. Sabrina goes in her kennel so well when given a small treat and is immediately quiet. She does great in the kennel and sleeps through the night. When its time to wake up, its time to go out to potty! Sabrina doesn't mess in her kennel, so she really needs to go first thing in the morning. Such a good girl!   Sabrina has not had much experience on a leash and is strong at 54lbs, so we recommend a home with a fenced-in yard to make life a little easier for Sabrina's forever family. Sabrina lives in a foster home with a 5-year-old child and does great with her, not jumping up on her and not knocking her over. And she takes treats so very gently, even from the kiddo's hand. She will come spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated and is ready to find her forever home. Thank you for checking out this sweet girl!     Approximate Birthdate:  July 2022 Adoption Fee: $200 TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming.  TARA's pets are all eligible for a TWO WEEK TRIAL.
