Story
Munchkin is 9 mths old. She is a Labradore Retriever/German Shorthair Pointer mix. She is active and would make a good hunting dog or a playful family pet. She is utd on shots, dewormed, HW negative, spayed, kennel and leash trained. She loves to swim and go bye bye in the car. She is a sweet dog and loves to cuddle. She is very treat motivated. I am having health problems which is making it difficult for me to provide the daily exercise for her like I have been doing. She needs a responsible owner who will provide her with time outdoors as well as indoors. She does enjoy being outdoors and doesn't jump the fence. She does like to chase squirrels in the yard. She will come with collar, leash, microchip, rabies tag, kennel, and dog bed, toys, and some food.

Story
Bessie is the black lab in the photo. She is still hoping for a forever home for what remaining time she has left. Bessie is a LOVE BUG with humans. Just melts with attention. She's a food hound and can be mouthy when taking treats, but otherwise she's a gentle girl. Bessie is good with other dogs, but does need a slow intro period. She's just nervous and can bark/try to scare the other dog off at first. Once she knows they aren't out to attack her she's fine. Bessie is a sweetheart and is probably 12+ years old. She was heartworm positive and we did the slow treatment method. She also had a couple small lumps removed, they weren't cancerous. She can be stiff at times, but she's overweight and older so that's to be expected. Some arthritis medication as needed is a good idea. Bessie's adoption fee is waived. She just wants a home. At Autumn Acres Animal Rescue we believe each individual animal matters. We take in special cases some of which will stay with us as a sanctuary dog.If the animal is listed as a Socially Imperfect Dog this means they have special needs and special requirements for potential adopters. If the animal is listed as a Socially Imperfect RESIDENT this animal is NOT available for adoption and is one of our sanctuary residents. We list them on our sites because they still matter and they still need donations to help with their long term care.Check out our website for more information: http://www.autumnacres.org

Story
Socially Imperfect but now AVAILABLE - ROCKY Rocky was living a forgotten life. He was never allowed outside, not taken on walks, and never exposed to anything beyond the four walls of his indoor pen. He was surrendered to a vet clinic that had him for several months. They had a difficult time getting him adopted due to his shyness. He finally found a home and then he escaped immediately. He was so scared that he freaked out over the change and managed to slip his leash and was running scared. Volunteers and employees of the vet clinic were able to catch him and he was returned to the clinic. He was there for another several months. They weren't having any luck placing him and they were considering euthanizing him because of his fear/anxiety and unlikelihood of finding him a home. A rescue friend begged us to take this fellow and we did. The first few months were so scary for our friend Rocky. A leaf blowing on a tree would make him duck and run, but with time he has blossomed. Rocky meets new people and learns to trust so much quicker now. He is super affectionate, likes to jump up to give a hug, and loves to run around the yard with the other dogs. Rocky deserves a forever home for what time he has left. He'd appreciate a slow intro to his new home, but honestly he's doing SOOO much better with new things/new yards/new people he might settle in pretty quickly. Rocky's ideal home has understanding people willing to give him time to adjust to things and must have another happy/friendly dog for him to befriend. Rocky is at least 10 years old, he may be older. Please consider giving him a forever home!!   At Autumn Acres Animal Rescue we believe each individual animal matters. Story
Please share! Moss is a sweet lab-mix boy with a ton of personality. He's pretty doggone cute, too. His coat looks brown in some light and black in others, and he has an adorable nubbin of a tail. And those airplane ears? Be still my heart. Moss is about eight years old and 65 pounds--perfection! This guy lights up when he plays with his dog friends, so much so that we think Moss would benefit from having another dog in his new home. His favorite toys have squeakers (yay!), and he'll play fetch with you and chase with his dog buddy. When it's cold outside, Moss likes to cuddle up and rest his head on your lap. During the summers, though, he can be found rolling in the grass and sunbathing. No matter the season, he appreciates butt scritches and belly rubs from his people. Moss is incredibly smart. He knows how to sit, stay, come, look at me, touch (your hand or a post-it placed somewhere), shake, lay down, and find it). Moss is very treat motivated, so teaching him new things will be a breeze. He likes to be challenged with puzzles where food is the reward. (We're with you on that one, buddy.) Young kids make Moss nervous, so he'd prefer an adult-only home if you don't mind. Please call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 about making Moss part of your family. He's in the Kansas City area, but transport is available to the right home. #thepetconnection #adoptdontshop #adoption #adopt #adoptashelterpet #adoptme

Story
This gorgeous girl is June Bug, our friend from The Rescue Project. She's a lab mix and about three years old. But more importantly, she's a happy girl is so much fun! June Bug isn't just pretty. She has the smarts, too! She's very willing to work for people she likes (and food, she's willing to work for food). June Bug particularly enjoys showing people that she knows shake with both paws, as she's perfected that skill, and knows she'll get ... food! She likes learning new things, so go ahead and teach her all the fun stuff to help keep her mind busy. June Bug can be cautious around new people and things, but give her a chance and show her you're one of the kind, good humans. She'll love you to the moon and back and show you her snuggly, goofy side. She is worth your time, we promise. June Bug is looking for an adult-only home with a fenced yard, as kids can be loud and scary and apartments aren't going to work for her. She needs to be the only pet in her new home. Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more information. June Bug is staying in the KC metro, but transport is available to the right home. #thepetconnection #JuneBug #LabMix #DogTraining #DogLovers #RescueDog #AdoptDontShop #KCmetro #DogRescue
