Story
Approx. DOB: 3/1/25                 Approx Weight: 75 Lbs Adoption Fee: $300 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! John Wayne aka Johnny is a gorgeous yellow lab weighing 75pds. We guess him to be anywhere from 10 months to a year old, so he still has some growing to do. He is just an extra-large sweet boy who loves everyone he meets. Johnny is super confident with a big puppy personality.  He loves playing with the other dogs, but we have learned that most dogs under 50 pounds can't handle his rough play style. He isn't aggressive or dominate but his being a huge puppy he thinks every dog is a big puppy. Johnny has a best friend who loves to play with him. We noticed if he starts playing a little too rough she  will correct him with a quick growl. He will immediately act submissive. She weighs 55 pds. Johnny doesn't want to do anything but play.  After playing for about 30 minutes he is usually ready to rest.  He is definitely NOT a super active guy. Just a regular lab personality. Super sweet, loving,  goofy and playful. He is just a all around wonderful pup. Johnny would be great with most any family. If you have a cat we are able to test him to be sure he is good around them.    Johnny is in a small boarding facility waiting for a foster home to open up. We do know he has been great when crated. Give this big, gorgeous, goofy boy a chance. There is a 2 week trial to help insure your happiness and his.     We are working with him on leash training. He is a work in progress. Johnny wants to please his humans. He craves human contact.    I have been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, wormed and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible. Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.  You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Would you like to foster a Furry Kid? Furry Kids' Refuge will supply the food & vet care while you supply the basic house rules & love.......win-win for all!!  Just visit our website http://www.furrykidsrefuge.org/category/fostering/  for more information. Thanks for your support! Story
This gorgeous girl is June Bug, our friend from The Rescue Project. She's a lab mix and about three years old. But more importantly, she's a happy girl is so much fun! June Bug isn't just pretty. She has the smarts, too! She's very willing to work for people she likes (and food, she's willing to work for food). June Bug particularly enjoys showing people that she knows shake with both paws, as she's perfected that skill, and knows she'll get ... food! She likes learning new things, so go ahead and teach her all the fun stuff to help keep her mind busy. June Bug can be cautious around new people and things, but give her a chance and show her you're one of the kind, good humans. She'll love you to the moon and back and show you her snuggly, goofy side. She is worth your time, we promise. June Bug is looking for an adult-only home with a fenced yard, as kids can be loud and scary and apartments aren't going to work for her. She needs to be the only pet in her new home. Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more information. June Bug is staying in the KC metro, but transport is available to the right home. #thepetconnection #JuneBug #LabMix #DogTraining #DogLovers #RescueDog #AdoptDontShop #KCmetro #DogRescue

Please visit our web site at https://tarasdream.org/adopt to fill out an adoption application for this pet and for more info about our adoption process.  Sabrina is a 3–4 year old lab/pittie mix who has so much love to give, but she’s still waiting for someone to notice her. She has a playful side and enjoys walks and time outside, and she walks well on a leash. After she gets a little activity, she’s content to settle down and quietly enjoy being near her people. Right now, Sabrina is living in boarding, where playtime and comfort are limited. It’s not the life she deserves, and we know she would relax and truly come into her own in a real home with someone who cares. Black dogs like Sabrina are often overlooked, and that’s been her story so far. She’s a sweet, gentle soul hoping for a chance to meet you and finally find the place where she belongs. Story
Rocky is a gentle soul who starts his morning with some stretches, downward dog yoga poses, and meditation (aka naps in the sun). He's a big chap at about 80 pounds, but don't worry, at just about five years old, Rocky won't be growing more! We recently learned that Rocky loooooooves to swim! Like, really loves it and could possibly be a water sports dog, too. He dives for the ball and really commits by putting his head and body under the water! This pooch has heart *and* skills, we're happy to report. He's also super cute -- bonus! You couldn't ask for a better pooch than this guy. He's intelligent, affectionate, loving, house-trained, and doesn’t chew on anything (except for toys and Benebone wishbones). Do you have a dog in need of a canine companion? Fantastic! Rocky adores the dogs in his foster home. He carefully picks out toys to share with them, and then they enjoy a good game of chase in the yard. He would also do great as the only pooch in his home if he gets plenty of attention from the humans. Rocky is not so much a cat guy, though. Rocky already knows sit, stay, come, touch, and shake. He loves earning treats by doing these tricks and could be easily trained to learn even more. Rocky takes treats so, so gently from your hand, too. (He's such a good boy!) Some of Rocky's favorite things are getting pets, riding in the car, being outdoors, playing with toys, and going on walks. While Rocky loves cuddling in bed with his humans, he patiently waits to be invited up, because he's polite like that. What Rocky would love to do most of all, though, is find his forever home. Please call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 if you're The One. If not, please share Rocky's information with everyone you know so you can visit Rocky at their house when he gets adopted. #thepetconnection

I'm telling you Darius is just that! A sweet little treat in a fancy package! This handsome man is the sweetest combination of snuggle bug and playful pup! Darius may not have had the best upbringing. He was saved from a hoarding situation, where he just didn't get much socialization with people. As a result, he is unsure right at first, and may sniff you, move away and circle back while he figures it out. But, if you just give him a little bit to process the new humans, he will literally melt into you! He loves scritches, and to be with you wherever you are. He loves to play with toys, and is a big fan of other dogs! He has figured out housetraining, and though not a huge fan of being crated, he is fine once he goes in. He loves treats and is learning a few manners. He sleeps all night in his dog bed. His only fault- he has no idea how big and strong he is. His tail is in constant motion and can hurt when he's super excited- and if he's missed you big time- he really wants to greet you by jumping up. (We are working on that particular thing because he comes in hard with those hugs and if you aren't ready for them...Woof) He's getting there! So- if you are looking for a little chocolate to sweeten up your life- there is no need to look any further than this hunk! He's a lover and guaranteed to melt your heart!
