Story
Meet Mercury! Mercury is an approximately 18-month-old male Lab/Pit mix weighing around 48 lbs who is ready to find a loving forever home. He was found off Holden Drive in Rockwall on 4/18/26 alongside two other dogs believed to be his siblings and was never reclaimed. Mercury is a shy but very sweet-natured boy who is still building confidence in new environments. With time, patience, and a gentle approach, his affectionate personality begins to shine. He enjoys quiet cuddle time with his people and has shown that he walks well on a leash. He would do best with a family that can provide consistency, patience, and encouragement as he continues to grow and learn. If you have another dog in the home, a meet and greet is recommended to ensure a good fit. Mercury's adoption fee is $125. He is neutered, microchipped, current on rabies vaccination, and basic boosters. He did test heartworm positive but thanks to Rockwall PAWS, his treatment is sponsored. If you are interested in giving Mercury the loving home he deserves, please complete an adoption application at: https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/. Approved applicants will be contacted by RAC staff to schedule a meet and greet.  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense. April 28, 2026, 6:25 pm

Story
Meet Popeye - Your Fun-Loving, Loyal Sidekick Popeye is a little over 1 year old Lab/Collie mix (41 lbs) who is ready to find the family he's been waiting for. He was just 8 months old when he was abandoned overnight in front of the shelter, and since then, he's been patiently waiting for someone to choose him. Despite his heartbreaking start, Popeye has kept his happy, playful spirit and loving personality. He's full of life and brings that perfect mix of youthful energy and cuddle time. Whether it's a game of chase, a long walk, or curling up next to you after a day of fun, Popeye is all in. He's affectionate, loyal, and eager to be part of a family. Popeye is currently living in a foster home with a foster family, and he has already made himself quite comfortable in a home environment. He walks nicely on a leash, appears to be crate trained, and is eager to learn. With continued structure, consistency, and positive training, Popeye will continue to grow into a well-mannered, devoted companion. Popeye is looking for a home where he can truly thrive. He does best with female dogs only and is not a match for homes with male dogs or small dogs. A meet and greet is recommended to ensure the best fit. Popeye is neutered, microchipped, up to date on his rabies and core vaccinations, and heartworm negative - he's healthy and ready to go home. Because Popeye is in foster care, an approved online adoption application is required before scheduling a meet and greet. If you're looking for a fun, affectionate dog who will keep you active, make you laugh, and be your loyal best friend, Popeye is ready to meet you. He's waited long enough - now it's his turn to be chosen.
