Story
Meet Rosie! A spirited one-and-a-half-year-old Labrador Retriever mix currently living in Liberty Hill, TX, whose golden coat and bright white accents mirror the sunshine she brings wherever she goes. Rosie is the kind of dog who’s always ready for adventure, whether it’s bounding after a tennis ball, trotting down an off-leash trail, or galloping across a big backyard with the wind in her fur! A natural athlete with a heart full of love, Rosie thrives on outdoor playtime and would absolutely adore a bit of land or a spacious yard where she can stretch her legs and explore to her heart’s content. Playful and loyal, Rosie is also a big fan of training time—especially when tasty treats are involved! She’s already picked up handy commands like “sit,” “stay,” “down,” and “leave it,” and with her food-motivated personality, she’s eager to learn even more with positive reinforcement. When it’s time to wind down, this sweet girl is a cuddle pro, happy to snuggle up after a day full of fun! Rosie is wonderful with children of all ages and enjoys the company of other dogs, especially those her own size who share her zest for play. She would be a fantastic match for a family with other large dogs or anyone simply looking for a loyal, four-legged best friend. While she handles short periods alone just fine and is crate-trained, she truly shines when she’s part of the daily rhythm of a home—sharing time, space, and love with her people. Her one quirk? Vacuums and electric house tools are not her jam—they’re a little too noisy and unpredictable for her liking. But hey, aren’t we all allowed our pet peeves? Fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, and house-trained, Rosie is ready to leap into her next chapter! Could your home be the one where she’ll run, romp, and rest her head? Reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com and tell us—can you picture Rosie as your new adventure buddy?

Story
Meet Rick! A soulful nine-and-a-half-year-old Labrador Retriever mix currently in Round Rock, TX, whose gentle heart and calm spirit make him the kind of companion everyone dreams of. With his sleek charcoal coat, expressive eyes, and 75 pounds of affectionate loyalty, Rick is the definition of a steady and loving friend. Rick is the kind of dog who makes a house feel like a home. He’s house-trained, polite, and thrives in a peaceful environment where he can be close to his people, his favorite place is right by your side! Whether it’s a cozy evening curled up on the couch or a leisurely walk around the neighborhood, Rick is happiest when he’s sharing life’s simple moments with his family. He has a special fondness for stuffed animals and is always up for a stroll, though he’s just as content lounging quietly in good company. Having spent his life in a nurturing family setting, Rick is used to the rhythm of daily life, including calm mornings, evening walks, and lots of love. He’s great with children of all ages, making him a wonderful match for families looking for a steady, emotional support companion. While Rick is friendly with most dogs, he tends to steer clear of dominant males, preferring calm canine company. He hasn’t had experience with cats, so slow introductions would be best. Rick is healthy, neutered, microchipped, and fully up to date on his care. He knows basic commands like sit, stay, and lie down, and while he hasn’t had formal obedience training, his laid-back nature and good manners make him an easy roommate. He handles short periods alone just fine, he’s used to waiting patiently during the workday, but his true joy comes from shared time in the evenings. He does get a bit anxious during thunderstorms or fireworks, so a calm, reassuring environment will help him feel safe and supported. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will greet you at the door, rest his head on your lap, and love you with quiet, unwavering loyalty, Rick might be the perfect match! Could Rick be the steady, loving soul your family’s been waiting for? Reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com to learn more!

Story
This handsome boy’s right legs were partially amputated when he was just a pup by someone who’s clearly on the bullet-train to hell. Technically, Charisma is special needs, but don’t tell him that! He’s active & gets around well – he can even jump into the car! He’s been dearly loved by his adoptive family for many years, but sadly, must now be rehomed. He’s healthy, crate-trained, & would do best with a small dog to keep him company. Although he prefers women to men, he has lived with a man & was devoted to him. C’mon – everyone could use a little Charisma! How about you?

Story
Meet Winnie! A wise and soulful eight-and-a-half-year-old Labrador Retriever mix currently living in Naperville, IL, whose brown brindle coat wraps around a heart full of love, loyalty, and just the right hint of sass. Medium-sized at 30 pounds, Winnie is a seasoned snuggler who thrives in calm, cozy environments where routines are gentle and companionship is steady. Winnie is a quiet charmer, especially fond of adult companionship (she has a special soft spot for men) and she forms deep, trusting bonds with those who understand her thoughtful nature. While she takes a bit of time to warm up, once she does, she’ll be your devoted sidekick for life! Her ideal day? A short walk, followed by a long nap on the couch, and plenty of time for relaxed cuddle sessions with her favorite human. Winnie has mastered her basic commands like sit, down, stay, paw, and handles alone time just fine. She’s house-trained, vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped, making her ready for her next chapter with a patient and experienced caregiver who can support her unique needs. She experiences mild seizure-like episodes once or twice a year, which don’t require medication at this time. A quiet presence and a calm environment help her recover smoothly. She also has a history of resource guarding, particularly around food, toys, blankets, the couch, and the bed. Because of this, her current caregivers manage the behavior by not allowing her on furniture and by maintaining structure and boundaries at home. She takes fluoxetine daily to help with anxiety and trazodone before vet or grooming visits. While she can live with another dog, careful, structured introductions are essential. Winnie’s new family should feel confident managing her resource guarding through safe, positive-reinforcement methods and consistent routines. Because she can be startled by loud noises or the unpredictability of small children, a child-free home is best for her continued comfort and safety. Winnie would shine brightest in a peaceful home, perhaps with a retired person or couple, where the pace is slow, the cuddles are frequent, and trust can grow gently over time. She’s a sweet and loyal companion who just needs the right space and an understanding heart. Could you be the calm and caring presence Winnie needs to flourish by your side? London is so sweet and she attends doggy daycare three times a week and loves to play with her sister and other dogs.  She currently lives with cats but is not a big fan. London is active and loves to go for walks. London does great with the ladies, but she can be nervous around men. She is crate-trained as well as housebroken.  London loves cuddling, playing with toys, car and boat rides and swimming in the river.  All she needs now is a furever home.  ##972745##

Story
Meet Tash. She has been fostered through DAS shelter where she was originally on the kill list. She is in danger of going back there where she will be immediately put down due to space. The DAS foster is due to start traveling and has asked us to help her find a home for Tash. Tash has had a rough life. She looks like she has been the victim of dog fights and had been bred. Tash is eager to listen, seeks human interaction and is overflowing with love despite what she looks like and has been through. She has a small frame and weighs 48 lbs. She is quiet, average energy, and really just prefers to know where you are at all times. I have never heard her bark and we suspect it may be due to previous damage to her vocal cords. Tash has never met a stranger and gets a little sad when people avoid her because of her healing scars. She would be perfect in a home where her family can show her lots of love. She needs it after what she’s been through! About our little Tashy Washy: -3 years old -Has done well with gentle and patient children in a home, however, should still be supervised when newly being introduced to anyone -Takes treats very gently -House broken. She sometimes prefers to poop in inconvenient places like on the sidewalk or in the middle of an intersection in the town square when we go on walks. -Knows how to sit like Queen Elizabeth herself -Loves long romantic walks down the lumber aisle of Home Depot -She’s a great listener and she is eager to listen! I only have to lightly correct her when she’s being a gremlin. -Does well in a crate with some coaxing and sleeps through the night in her crate -Wonderful on a leash but does require some training when it comes to greeting people. She’s invasive and wants to meet everyone. (we are working on it) -She reacts to dogs on walks but not in an alarming way. She is interested and just needs slow introductions to new pets. -Does well with other dogs but needs slow and consistent introductions (she currently gets along well with our senior German Shepard mix that is low energy) Tash needs a hero!
