Meet Patty! A gentle eight-year-old Labrador Retriever mix currently in Spring, TX, whose warm spirit shines through her chocolate brown coat with soft white accents. Patty is the kind of companion who brings a calm, comforting presence while still holding onto a playful spark that makes every day feel a little brighter. At 48 pounds, she is a lovely medium-sized girl who enjoys tug-of-war, going for a swim, happily chewing her favorite bone, and bounding after balls with an easygoing enthusiasm. She also knows how to switch gears into a calm indoor companion, content to relax quietly by your side after a bit of fun. Patty is affectionate, friendly, and wonderfully adaptable, making her suitable for many different lifestyles and family rhythms. She has learned basic commands like sit, stay, and come, and she responds well to positive reinforcement and gentle encouragement. She is comfortable when left alone for short periods, enjoys car rides, and shares her home politely, showing a shy but respectful approach when meeting other dogs. Her loving personality truly shines in quiet moments, where she happily keeps you company without needing much more than your presence. Patty does require daily medication to manage occasional seizures, which have been well controlled with long stretches between episodes, allowing her to live a full and joyful life. She thrives in a caring environment with a compassionate caregiver who can continue her routine and offer plenty of gentle affection. With her quiet charm, playful quirks, and steady companionship, Patty is ready to share cozy evenings, soft tail wags, and sweet everyday moments with a new loving family. Great news for potential adopters, Patty’s adoption fee has been sponsored by the family! Her current family is open to long-distance adoption, transport, and even a foster-to-adopt arrangement. Story
Meet Rosie! A spirited two-and-a-half-year-old Labrador Retriever mix currently living in Liberty Hill, TX, whose golden coat and bright white accents mirror the sunshine she brings wherever she goes. Rosie is the kind of dog who’s always ready for adventure, whether it’s bounding after a tennis ball, trotting down an off-leash trail, or galloping across a big backyard with the wind in her fur! A natural athlete with a heart full of love, Rosie thrives on outdoor playtime and would absolutely adore a bit of land or a spacious yard where she can stretch her legs and explore to her heart’s content. Playful and loyal, Rosie is also a big fan of training time—especially when tasty treats are involved! She’s already picked up handy commands like “sit,” “stay,” “down,” and “leave it,” and with her food-motivated personality, she’s eager to learn even more with positive reinforcement. When it’s time to wind down, this sweet girl is a cuddle pro, happy to snuggle up after a day full of fun! Rosie is wonderful with children of all ages and enjoys the company of other dogs, especially those her own size who share her zest for play. She would be a fantastic match for a family with other large dogs or anyone simply looking for a loyal, four-legged best friend. While she handles short periods alone just fine and is crate-trained, she truly shines when she’s part of the daily rhythm of a home—sharing time, space, and love with her people. Her one quirk? Vacuums and electric house tools are not her jam—they’re a little too noisy and unpredictable for her liking. But hey, aren’t we all allowed our pet peeves? Fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, and house-trained, Rosie is ready to leap into her next chapter! Could your home be the one where she’ll run, romp, and rest her head? Reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com and tell us—can you picture Rosie as your new adventure buddy?

Story
Meet Huckleberry! A spirited two-and-a-half-year-old Mastiff/Labrador Retriever mix currently in Edmond, OK, whose essence is a whirlwind of joy wrapped in a sturdy white and gray frame and powered by endless enthusiasm. Huckleberry is a big-hearted, big-footed goofball who lives for fun, fresh air, and friends! We’re talking high-octane fetch sessions, tug-of-war tournaments, and “keep away” games that will keep you on your toes (and laughing out loud!). He’s also a big fan of car rides and pup cups, just say the word and he’s leaping in the back seat like a seasoned road tripper. People? He adores them! Kids over seven? Absolutely! He’s happiest when surrounded by love, play, and plenty of activity. At 60 pounds of pure lovable energy, Huckleberry thrives on structure and routine. He’s house and crate trained, knows commands like sit, heel, stay, and wait, and completed several weeks of training at K9 University. He’s a quick learner and will work for treats every time, though he may test your consistency now and then. Huckleberry is looking for a home where he can be the one and only furry companion. While he’s shared space with cats and dogs in the past, his playful energy and enthusiastic spirit are best suited to a home without other animals. His size and zest for life can unintentionally overwhelm smaller pets, and he truly shines when he has all the attention to himself. In a home where he doesn’t have to share the spotlight, Huckleberry thrives! Soaking up affection, engaging fully with his people, and offering his goofy charm in every moment. He’s a strong jumper, so a fenced yard is a must. He needs plenty of exercise and stimulation to keep his mind and muscles happy. Touching his paws makes him a bit uneasy, so patient, low-key vet visits are best. Are you ready to welcome a goofy, loyal, and utterly lovable companion into your life? Huckleberry is also open to a foster home, so if you're not ready to adopt but still want to make a difference, fostering could be a perfect fit. Reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com to learn more!

Story
Meet Jimmy! A devoted two-year-old Hound/Labrador Retriever mix currently living in Willowbrook, IL, whose big heart and tricolor coat are as unforgettable as his journey from the streets of Iraq to a life filled with love and hope. Jimmy is a gentle, soulful pup who’s learning every day what it means to be part of a family, and he’s nailing it! With his goofy teddy bear in tow, he adores long walks, belly rubs, and soaking up every bit of affection you have to offer. Whether you're lounging on the couch or heading out for an adventure, Jimmy is your guy! Loyal, cuddly, and ready to be your shadow from morning coffee to bedtime snuggles. This 60-pound sweetheart is house-trained, fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. While formal obedience training hasn’t been part of his past, Jimmy is eager to please and learning new things daily. He thrives in a calm, confident home and would do best as the only pup, where he can have all the love and space to himself, especially a fenced yard where he can stretch his legs and chase a toy or two. Though he may be startled by sudden rear touches or loud yelling, Jimmy’s temperament is affectionate and responsive. He’s done well with some dogs at parks and in boarding, though he can be selective with his canine companions. With the right guidance and continued positive reinforcement, he’s bound to blossom even more! What makes Jimmy especially endearing is his remarkable trust in people despite his challenging start in life. He greets each day with hope, loyalty, and the desire to bond deeply. His current caregiver calls him “a great dog and loving companion,” and it’s clear he’s ready to bring that same comfort and joy into the heart of a new family. Are you the caring, active pet parent Jimmy needs to continue his amazing journey? If you're ready to welcome this devoted companion please email adopt@joyfulpets.com to learn more about bringing Jimmy home! Could your family be the one he’s been waiting for?

Story
Meet Stitch! A charming four-year-old American Pitbull Terrier mix currently in Humble, TX, whose essence is a joyful blend of playful energy and heart-melting affection wrapped in a rich reddish brown coat. Stitch is the kind of companion who fills each day with warmth, whether he is romping around the yard or relaxing near his favorite people. With a medium build and about 60 pounds of love to give, he carries himself with a gentle confidence that instantly puts others at ease. Stitch has grown up alongside a young child and shows a remarkable gentleness that truly stands out. He happily accepts hand-fed treats and remains calm and careful when little hands are nearby, making him wonderfully compatible with families with children. His friendly nature extends beyond the home as well, as he enjoys meeting new people and greeting fellow dogs with an easygoing, social spirit. This bright boy already knows commands like sit, wait, come, and down, and he responds well to guidance with positive reinforcement. While he has not had formal training classes, he shows a natural eagerness to learn and would enjoy continued learning opportunities with his future family. When left alone for short periods, Stitch stays relaxed and entertains himself with toys or quiet exploration. He enjoys spending time outdoors where he can stretch his legs, and he would thrive in a caring environment where he has space to run and play. Like many active dogs, he sometimes gets a little creative with digging or chewing if he does not have enough toys, but providing him with engaging chew options keeps his playful mind happy. Stitch’s soulful gaze and constant companionship create a special bond that his future family will feel every day. He is looking for a new loving home that can offer attention, playtime, and plenty of shared moments. Could Stitch be the companion who brings a new rhythm of joy and connection into your days? Story
Meet Sarang! A gentle four-year-old Jindo/Labrador Retriever mix currently in Fort Worth, TX, whose snow-white coat and soulful eyes are only matched by his love for people and peaceful strolls through the neighborhood. At 65 pounds, Sarang is the perfect blend of solid companionship and mellow energy. He’s house-trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations, ready to step paw-first into a new chapter with a new loving family. This big-hearted boy thrives on routine and structure, responding beautifully to several basic commands like sit, touch, shake, down, and wait. Though he hasn’t had formal obedience classes, his calm and attentive nature makes him a wonderful student of daily life. Sarang’s idea of a good time? A relaxing walk with his favorite human, followed by a satisfying meal and some quality downtime. He truly thrives as the only pet in the home where he can soak up all the attention and build a deep bond with his person. While he's friendly and playful with people of all ages, children and adults alike, he needs a home without other pets so he can feel secure and fully relaxed. He just blossoms when he has his human to himself, forming a loyal and devoted connection that is incredibly special! He does have a few quirks that add to his charm. Thunderstorms make him a little uneasy, and bath time isn’t exactly his favorite activity, but who among us doesn’t have a few things we’d rather skip? Health-wise, Sarang is doing well, with only a history of chronic ear infections to be mindful of. Sarang needs plenty of outdoor time to feel his best. Long walks, car rides, and simply being out and about exploring the world bring him genuine joy. He would be compatible with someone who can spend significant time with him and include him in daily routines, whether that means errands, weekend outings, or peaceful evening strolls. Being part of his person’s everyday life helps him feel confident and content. A fenced yard where he can safely explore would be a bonus, and a family that appreciates his gentle spirit will be rewarded with unwavering loyalty and heartfelt companionship! Are you ready to welcome a calm, devoted companion like Sarang into your heart and home? Story
Meet Tash. She has been fostered through DAS shelter where she was originally on the kill list. She is in danger of going back there where she will be immediately put down due to space. The DAS foster is due to start traveling and has asked us to help her find a home for Tash. Tash has had a rough life. She looks like she has been the victim of dog fights and had been bred. Tash is eager to listen, seeks human interaction and is overflowing with love despite what she looks like and has been through. She has a small frame and weighs 48 lbs. She is quiet, average energy, and really just prefers to know where you are at all times. I have never heard her bark and we suspect it may be due to previous damage to her vocal cords. Tash has never met a stranger and gets a little sad when people avoid her because of her healing scars. She would be perfect in a home where her family can show her lots of love. She needs it after what she’s been through! About our little Tashy Washy: -3 years old -Has done well with gentle and patient children in a home, however, should still be supervised when newly being introduced to anyone -Takes treats very gently -House broken. She sometimes prefers to poop in inconvenient places like on the sidewalk or in the middle of an intersection in the town square when we go on walks. -Knows how to sit like Queen Elizabeth herself -Loves long romantic walks down the lumber aisle of Home Depot -She’s a great listener and she is eager to listen! I only have to lightly correct her when she’s being a gremlin. -Does well in a crate with some coaxing and sleeps through the night in her crate -Wonderful on a leash but does require some training when it comes to greeting people. She’s invasive and wants to meet everyone. (we are working on it) -She reacts to dogs on walks but not in an alarming way. She is interested and just needs slow introductions to new pets.-Does well with other dogs but needs slow and consistent introductions (she currently gets along well with our senior German Shepard mix that is low energy) Tash needs a hero! Story
Canelo is a sensitive, sweet-natured guy who is learning that the world — and people — can be safe. At only 5 years old, he has Old Soul energy. He came from the shelter feeling overwhelmed and frightened. What he truly needs is a calm, patient adopter who understands that trust comes with time. In just a few short days in foster care, Canelo has already begun to blossom. He has discovered pets and can’t get enough, loves Purina Pro Plan (they should sponsor him!) and is starting to show his personality through quiet excitement — wagging his tail and perking up when I walk in. Canelo is affectionate, observant, and deeply loyal. He does best with a predictable routine and people who allow him to approach at his own pace. When given that space, his confidence grows every day. With time and understanding, Canelo has all the potential to become an incredibly devoted companion. Watching him learn to trust is truly something magical — and the person who gives him that chance will be rewarded with a bond unlike any other.   ##2642468##
