Story
Meet Sokka! He's your very own hero with plenty of wit, heart, and adventure to spare! This Puppy at Heart believes age is just a number and he's still ready to charge into fun like a true member of Team Avatar, whether that means exploring the outdoors or masterminding playtime with his toys. Very smart, confident, and athletic, Sokka loves staying active and is always motivated by treats (strategic snacks are his specialty). When the day's adventures are done, he's more than happy to trade hero duties for cuddles, proving that beneath his brave, playful spirit is an affectionate companion who loves a good nap on a soft bed.*Qualifies for Pets for Patriots program*Qualifies for Senior to Senior programPlease email Adoptions@saltlakecounty.gov with questions Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Black Weight: 59 Age: 5yrs 1mths 1wks

Story
Hi, I'm Peanut, a three-year-old lab/black mouth cur mix and yes, I am small in name only because my personality is anything but peanut-sized. I'm a social, affectionate guy who believes personal space is optional, especially if there are laps available for paws and faces ready for kisses. I love people, enjoy playtime, and am always happiest when I'm soaking up attention, whether that's pets, praise, or just being close to my favorite humans. I've got plenty of energy and curiosity to keep life fun, paired with a sweet, lovable nature that makes me easy to adore. If you're looking for a playful companion who's equal parts goofball and cuddle bug, I promise I'll peanut-butter my way right into your heart.*Qualifies for Pets for Patriots programPlease email Adoptions@saltlakecounty.gov with questions Primary Color: Tan Weight: 60 Age: 3yrs 1mths 1wks

Forrest is up for a rehoming! He has been with me in a board and train for a few months now! Neutered male, 6 years old, chocolate field line Labrador. Has basic obedience! Loves people, toys, water, adventure, and even cats! He lives with my cats and dogs and does well with them! He is not a fan of strange dogs in his face! He’s a good boy! He would be perfect for an active lifestyle and to cuddle on the couch when watching tv! The prior owner payed for his training fees, including go-home sessions with the new home! He is being listed for $50 to ensure someone gives him the proper care! Feel free to reach out to me if you’re interested!

Story
Watson is a ~2-year-old lab/pointer mix with excellent house manners, a big heart, and exactly three legs — and no, that does not slow him down. If anything, it just adds to his charm. He’s fully house trained, respectful in the home, and not destructive (your shoes are safe). Watson enjoys being active and going for walks, but he’s equally committed to couch naps and being near his favorite humans. He’s a bit of a “Velcro dog,” happily following you from room to room before settling nearby to supervise while you work or relax. In his foster home, Watson is doing great with other dogs. He loves stuffed toys and can be a little selective about sharing his favorites, so supervised or separate toy time is ideal. Overall, Watson is an easygoing, affectionate companion who fits beautifully into home life and is ready to bring loyalty, laughs, and a whole lot of love to his future family.

Story
Meet Tigger, a Basset Hound "wannabe." Tigger's story almost ended too soon. He landed on the euthanasia list at a high-kill shelter alongside his Basset buddy. Thankfully, UFBH stepped in and saved them both. Once in rescue, we discovered they weren't bonded, so Tigger is ready to find his very own family.Full of life and charm, Tigger is bursting with energy. He loves romping and wrestling with the dogs in his foster home; always ready for the next round of play. He's smart, responsive to training, and eager to please; an adventurous spirit with a bright mind. Tigger would thrive in a home that can keep up with his zest for life; one where he can run, play, learn new things, and be part of the action. Above all, Tigger loves people. He'll never say no to toys, games, or a good cuddle session after a day of fun. This handsome boy is ready to bring laughter, adventure, and unconditional love to the lucky family who opens their heart to him.

Story
Meet Gorda – Your Gentle Companion Basic Info: Name: Gorda Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Labrador Retriever Mix Sex: Female DOB: April 10, 2024 Weight: 45 lbs Intake Date: April 9, 2024 Personality – Shy But Sweet: Gorda is a soft-hearted soul who starts off a little shy but quickly warms up to kind voices and gentle touches. Once she feels safe, her tail starts to wag and her eyes light up with affection. She enjoys quiet companionship, slow introductions, and belly rubs from those she trusts. Gorda is the perfect blend of calm and cuddly—ideal for a home that can offer patience, peace, and love. Breed Information: As a Pit Bull and Labrador Retriever mix, Gorda combines the best of both breeds. Pit Bulls are known for their loyalty, strength, and intelligence, while Labradors are famously friendly, social, and eager to please. This mix often results in a devoted, affectionate companion who thrives with structure and positive reinforcement. Gorda will benefit from daily exercise, enrichment activities, and ongoing socialization. Owner Responsibilities: Provide regular vet care, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and a balanced diet Daily exercise like walks, playtime, or backyard fun Mental stimulation through toys, training, and social experiences Time, patience, and consistency to help build her confidence A safe, secure home environment with supervision and boundaries Positive training methods (no harsh punishment-based approaches) Commitment for Life: When you adopt Gorda, you’re promising to be her safe place for the rest of her life. Through every stage—puppy, adult, and senior—she deserves your loyalty and love. This commitment means never abandoning her due to lifestyle changes, moving, or other temporary setbacks. Gorda will return your lifelong devotion tenfold. Do Not Leash Your Dog Outside Unattended: Gorda should never be tethered or left outside alone. It’s unsafe, isolating, and doesn’t meet her need for companionship and supervision. Dogs who are tied out can become anxious, territorial, and vulnerable to harm. Gorda belongs with you, safely inside and part of your family. Why Adopt Gorda? Gorda is more than a pretty face—she’s a dog waiting for someone to see the beauty in her gentle heart. If you’re the kind of person who values patience, kindness, and forming deep bonds, Gorda will reward you with loyalty, love, and quiet joy. Give her a chance, and she’ll give you a best friend for life.
